About the property

Very comfortable accommodation for 2 adults (+ sofa bed)

1 bedroom apartment, very bright, located on the ground floor of a quality residence very well maintained. Concierge every morning, including weekends and holidays.


The building is built on the slope of an ancient dune that belonged to the 19th century to the Pontac family. The street is not subjected to heavy traffic. It is even particularly quiet

Who says slope said level difference; and the facade of the apartment and the terrace are on the ground floor over the main entrance of the residence on the first floor but in relation to parking.

The parking attached to the apartment is visible from this (see photo); is accessed via the basement of the building (stairs and elevator).

The 38 m2 of housing are 100% useful and terrace of 5 m2, west facing and provided with a solar tent, advantageously complete the housing space life.

The furniture and decor are very neat and functional. Their regular maintenance is particularly easy.

The building has a secure bicycle storage. The caretaker is responsible for the management of sites. It is recommended to prevent, during the signing of the lease, if you bring your bike and if you plan to take advantage of this free service.

From the apartment to the beach of Arcachon, no more than 200 mothers. Since it is located next to the port, the spectacle of ships entering and leaving the channel is permanent. It generates very little noise because the speed of the boats is limited to 5 km / h.

By taking small internal streets, the town center is 5 minutes by bike and 1/4 hour walk. To vary the routes, you can also take the bike path along the beach.

Last but not least, a shuttle bus (€ 1) passes 100 meters from the main entrance and serves the entire territory of the Grand Arcachon.

  • The bathroom is small, yes, but functional and storage space are many. Central mechanical ventilation. Large bath with shower curtain. Tap bath-shower mixer. Peripheral wall tiles. Metal soap dishes. WC ... normal! Furniture 'pharmacy' suspended. Dresser with recessed sink, large mirror and shelf. Mixer tap.

  • The apartment is equipped with quality beds (one double bed 140 cm wide in the room. A sofa bed in the living room allows the reception of 2 additional people for short stay. The room is furnished with night tables, a wardrobe 2.5m linear sliding doors, drawers and shelves. A large sliding door isolates the living chamber. It is provided, side room, a large and very useful hook. Two shelves located above the headboard receive decoration and a library of books dealing Arcachon. Two fixtures are attached by clamps. (see photos) As there is no cock in the residence, a clock radio does well his office.

Arcachon, are among others oysters, pool, bicycling, beaches and the Dune du Pyla.

Oysters, you find them everywhere: in markets, at the fish market or directly from oyster farmers, in the huts that line every port around the edge of the basin.

The basin is an inland sea that boat tour, if possible at low tide, as we then discovered the complexity, the oyster beds, sandbars, Bird Island, and the tchanquée the coast which runs to the rhythm of villages which animate: the Moulleau, Canon, Grass and the Cap Ferret. Schedules and tidal coefficients are published each week in "The Dispatch Basin" and the ephemeris are distributed in many local shops.

Discounted electric shuttles plying the big Arcachon, stopping on demand. Although useful in summer when parking is scarce.

The bike, nearly 80 km of cycle paths to the flat profile which include the ability to reach the Cap Ferret (possibly return by sea shuttle). This track passes a few hundred meters from the apartment, along the beach and can reach downtown or the harbor avoiding the dangers traffic. Many rental companies offer electric bikes (when we tried, we can not do without!)

The beaches are concentrated on the southern and southwestern part of the basin and the ocean. The first is located within 200 meters of the apartment. It stretches from the marina to the west exit of Arcachon. The following join the Bay of Biscay from the Pereire Park through the dune of Pyla which certainly deserves to be climbed as the view from the top is breathtaking. One can go paragliding.

Kite surfing is practiced intensely along the Pereire beach, to the west and to the beach of La Hume, east of Arcachon.

The center has recently undergone major redevelopment, including a square with a covered market, shops, bars, restaurants, a hotel, a cinema (3 rooms) and a large underground parking. An open market moved there several times a week. The entire course is strictly pedestrian!

Large commercial brands have settled mainly in La Teste-de-Buch and Gujan-Mestras: Intermarché, Leclerc, Decathlon, HyperU, Casino, ...

The majority of car brands have concessions nearby and a state-of-the-art hospital was built three years ago 7 km from the apartment.

We established a documentation of the many possible activities in Arcachon and its surroundings and we are updating every year. It is certainly not exhaustive but provides a preliminary choice without wasting time (shows, various activities, shuttle schedules and electric buses, etc.) See also the long list of proposed activities in Arcachon and in a radius of 30 km, including on different websites.

We did not know Arcachon twenty years ago and now it is difficult to do without. We hope that the same is true for you, why we make every effort to ensure that the aspect 'accommodation' of your stay is the least of your worries. We bring every year various facilities, either decoration or, as in 2015, a new work plan in the kitchen. Since 2016, we also provide you with WiFi and Orange TV.
