Why Nigel or Suzanne chose Rochefort - Marennes area

We chose this property ,because of its location to La Rochelle and the Atlantic coast. It was in need of renovation and we could see what a fabulous holiday complex it would make once it had been renovated.

What makes this cottage unique

Beautiful Traditional stone Farmhouse with outbuildings in an ideal setting. Surrounded by open countryside, peace and quiet guarenteed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have enjoyed the week we spent here in your lovely gite. Many thanks for your last minute offer. Although we were five people, the place was big enough. the children spent a lot of time in the pool and on the trampoline.

Many greetings.

Suzanne and Nigel,

Thank you for sharing your fantastique cottage with me. I loved it! Can't wait to come back. The location is perfect for me and the setting allows me to work when not visiting friends.

Excellent winter break

  • 5 of 5

Would definitely recommend a stay in the wonderful Pigeonnier, everything you need for a relaxing break with lots of little added extras that made the stay even more special. Nigel, Suzanne and their family cannot do enough for you and have plenty of local knowledge and recommendations if needed. The gite is ideally situated for lots of different interests that are within easy reach. The weather for the time of year with being in the micro climate was fantastic. We were fortunate enough to be their when there was a car rally on which was an amazing experience. Thank you again for making our holiday one to remember.

Relaxing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The Farmhouse is a lovely place to relax and explore the local area. Nigel and Suzanne are terrific hosts and the local area has so much to offer. The gite is well equipped, incredibly quiet and peaceful and the pool puts the icing on the proverbial cake. Our 8 year old daughter had her first scuba diving lessons in the pool and is now hooked. A lovely gite in a lovely area of France. Couldn't ask for more.

Wonderful for winter house-hunting

  • 5 of 5

Had a delightful stay in the Pigeonnier whilst house hunting during the winter. The gite was clean and comfortable with all the “mod cons” needed to ensure it was a home from home, and the wood burner was always a welcome sight after a day searching for our ideal home. Nigel and Suzie were very welcoming and helpful in their local knowledge of the area and gave us invaluable information on the best places to look at for potential properties. The gite was brilliantly located for reaching La Rochelle, Rochefort and all the delightful coastal resorts of the Charente-Maritime. Many thanks for such excellent off-season accommodation.
