Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Bridport - Cato Cottage

Spacious self catering cottage with garden, parking, easy access to coastal walk

Self catering cottage, minutes walk from town centre, and 2 miles from sea. Spacious yet cosy, with lounge/ diner, includes a wood burning stove, sun room, and small separate sitting room with sofa bed. A private garden with outside eating area and BBQ; ideal for a relaxing break any time of year. Dorset is a great location for a romantic break, rambling with friends, or a family getaway. Frequent food and fun festivals, like the Bridport Hat festival and fancy dress at New Year

The Jurassic coast, ideal for fossil hunting and coastal walks, sea fishing and great fish and chips! For gourmets, sample the South West's top class restaurants in Bridport and Lyme Regis and country pubs, as you explore Thomas Hardy's hidden Dorset.

Bridport is renowned for its twice weekly market with food, antiques and bricabrac. It has excellent facilities; theatre at the Arts Centre or a film at the renovated Electric Palace cinema, or get fit in the leisure centre or grab a round of golf.

Bridport is only half and hours drive from Weymouth and Portland. This year it is where the Olympic sailing events will take place, and has the most fantastic views all year round. It is a great spot for kite surfing and bird watching too.

Lovely stay at Cato Cottage in Bridport

  • 5 of 5

We had a simply wonderful holiday in Bridport. Cato Cattage is lovely and felt like a home from home for our holiday. There's so much to do in Dorset and Bridport is a great base for visiting the Jurassic coast and other places inland. The beach at West Bay was spectacular and a walk up Combers Hill is a must. The cottage itself is well furnished and equipped and only a short walk from the centre of town. We are a family with several young children who are already plotting a return visit.

Many thanks for a great stay,

Tim and Ann

Great cottage, great location

  • 5 of 5

My family ( wife + 3 kids) had a fantastic holiday at Cato cottage. Plenty of room, enough for grandparents to visit for a couple of nights. Clean, well equipped, great location. Would definitely go back!

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed over Easter weekend and the cottage was just perfect! It was incredibly well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of space in the cottage, we could all sit together or spread out across different rooms. The sun room was lovely for a cup of tea in the mornings! We also made use of the garden!

The location is a very short walk from Bridport centre so no need to take the car. Parking at the cottage was spot on!

We couldn't find anything to fault the cottage on and a good time was had by all!

Family Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Great place for a chill out weekend with the 'adult' children and their partners. A really comfortable space with lovely sunroom. Garden looked inviting, but it rained, so we lit the log burner instead and felt very cosy! Well equipped, close to a bustling town highstreet and short drives to so many interesting places - should have booked for longer!

A Dorset gem

  • 5 of 5

Brilliant cottage a bit like the tardis, it's much bigger on the inside.

Three good sized double bedrooms , really comfortable beds and bedding.

Great power showers.

Lovely sun room great asset with the dog as was the fully enclosed garden .

The cottage is equipped with everything you need, even loads of sauces and herbs!

Really comfortable sofa's and great tv.

Suitable for all ages although stairs are a little steep.

Really close to town, shops and great walks. Sea about two miles by car.

Highly recommend Cato cottage to all.

It's relaxing, beautifully presented and well priced

Excellent accommodation, short walk to Bridport main street which has lots going on. Lovely garden and sun room to relax in. Very well equiped, my family enjoyed staying there. Surrounding area is lovely with easy access to many coastal resorts.

I fully recommend cottage and its location.

Bridport is in West Dorset, close to the Jurassic coast, the famous Chesil Beach and the incredible Swannery and Sub tropical gardens at Abbotsbury. The county town, Dorchester, just 12 miles away, long associated with Thomas Hardy, also boasts the Dinosaur & Teddy Bear museums. Charmouth and Lyme Regis are a short bus or drive away, or you could lose yourself in the Great Dorset Maze. Weymouth has a Sea life Centre and other family activities. Nearby there is the Cerne Abbas Giant to see or you could go to the Haynes Motor museum or experience the Fleet Air Arm in Yeovil. For people who love art/crafts/music, there is a thriving arts scene, with many local pubs having regular music gigs. For those who love history, you could take in some historic houses such as Athelhamton or Sherbourne Abbey or the astonishing iron age fort of Maiden Castle. Burton Bradstock Beach is great for family fun and the cafe, which is open all year, is the perfect place to recover from a long walk.

Great fossil hunting opportunities and special guided trips are special to this area.

Other Activities: Leisure centre with swimming pool

And one of England's few Real tennis courts on the outskirts of the town.

Golf: There is a golf course at West Bay.
