This charming 2 levels apartment is located in the very heart of St Germain des Pres in one of the most exclusive street in Paris (crn of Rue Dauphine & Rue du Pont de Lodi) 50m walk from the famous Pont Neuf and generally short walking distance from the Buci market, Notre Dame, Isle St Louis, Luxembourg Gardens...
This 47m2 (or 505 sq ft) apartment is been completely renovated with the latest trends of colours and materials. It is central, bright & sunny with wooden floors including in the bathroom.
A trendy place yet in a typical old and romantic Parisian building. It is located at the fifth floor (no elevator though the stairs are easy to climb). You will enjoy the view of the Eiffel Tower from the bedroom. Ideal for a young couple with or without children who will quickly feel at home!
Right at the entrance of the building you have a parking spot of 'Velib' (city-sponsored bicycle rental station). A nice and funny way to discover Paris.
Alternatively and if you don't feel like walking, you have no less than 4 metro stations within 300m in each direction. Also plenty of bus stops.

We are a french/german couple, currently living in Africa and still, totally in love with Paris where we use to come back on a regular basis. We have invested in this 'pied a terre' that we rather see as a 'nid d'amour', with a beautiful living atmosphere and unbelievable surroundings.
Investment in one of the most exclusive and prestigious places in Paris
One of the most central places to take full advantage of all the best sites, shops, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, street markets, and entertainments Paris has to offer.
A unique place to immediately be immersed in the glamorous Parisian life specially if you are on a short stay.
All major tourist attractions are within walking distance. 4 metro stations within a couple of minutes walk and a bike rental station at your building door step.
This wonderful apartment is centrally located in easy walking distance of most of the desirable Parisian experiences. It includes a small but fully functional kitchen and everything needed to enable you to eat at home whenever and if you prefer. In addition, high speed internet, TV, a washing machine, and hair blow-dryer are provided. Excellent restaurants abound in the neighborhood. We especially recommend Sense, an Italian-vegetarian restaurant just down the street at 39 Rue Mazarin. In addition, French-style small supermarkets are nearby as are several good cheese shops, boulangeries, and takeout food shops. We attended wonderful concerts almost nightly in locations that included Sainte-Chapelle, Notre Dame, and the Eglise St. Ephrem – all within easy walking distance. Concerts can be inexpensively and quickly booked in advance on Classictic.com. Both Metro and RER access are conveniently available and you can get pretty much anywhere you want in Paris. A car is absolutely unnecessary. RER service from Charles de Gaulle Airport is fast and drops you practically on the apartment doorstep. Buy a round-trip RER ticket at the airport to and from the St. Michel station. That'll save having to do a separate return ticket when it's (sadly) time to go home. As others have mentioned, the five flights of stairs are definitely not for anyone who is mobility impaired or who would object to a bit of stair-climbing. It's work. That said, my wife and I are in our late 60s and had no difficulty at all. If you are reasonably physically active and willing to trade a little bit of hahard work for a spectacular opportunity to see Paris as the Parisians do, don't let the thought of the stairs dissuade you. Mr. Mauro, the apartment owner, and his property Manager, Ms. Janvier are a pleasure to work with. They were consistently prompt, honest, helpful and absolutely reliable in all their dealings. They both speak and write English fluently. By the way, in the 10 days we spent in Paris we were overwhelmed by the pleasant, helpful, gracious and welcoming behavior of Parisians in general. We stayed at the apartment for 10 days and it certainly was one of the greatest European stays we've ever experienced. Previously we've visited Switzerland, Italy, Scotland, and Greece. Paris was up there with the best and this apartment certainly contributed to the experience.
My 13 year old daughter and I rented this apartment between 21-28 of April and were very satisfied.
The first thing that I will mention and get out of the way immediately is the five flights of stairs as I know this has been an issue for others. If you have any kind of mobility issues or just don't look forward to climbing flights of stairs then you will not be happy with this apartment. We did not mind the stairs at all and I actually looked at the staircase as my Stairmaster/elliptical training that I was missing at the gym! The most daunting thing about the staircase is probably the first day when taking luggage up with you. I would not let the stairs dissuade you from staying here as the perks far outweigh the climb.
Right from the initial e-mail I sent Philippe, I found him to be responsive and genuinely concerned that you have a great stay in his apartment. Veronique met us at the apartment after our revival and showed us around and answered questions for us. She is also a great contact during your stay should you need anything.
Everything you will read in the apartment description is true; the Pont Neuf is only about 50 meters away and St. Michel station is a quick walk to catch the RER is the airport or other places around Paris. We did take the RER from Charles de Gaulle airport to the apartment and it was ridiculously easy. The apartment is about as centrally located to the heart of Paris as you can possibly get what with being right at the foot of the Ile de la Cite thus making for easy walks to the Notre Dame, the Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Musee d'Orsay just to name a few places. Bus lines are also located near the apartment is taxis and metro are not your thing.
The apartment is perfect for two to three people. The living room is quaint with nice furniture and tasteful décor. While we never really used the kitchen other than to place things in the refrigerator it is very well equipped with everything you would need to prepare meals or quick snacks. The main bedroom and bathroom are located up a flight of stairs and, by Paris standards, I think are very good sized. There is an excellent view of the Eiffel Tower from the bedroom! There is a great deal of natural light throughout the apartment both upstairs and downstairs. There are also hardwood floors throughout the entire apartment.
If looking for a great apartment centrally located to many Parisian activities, I would give this high consideration!
My husband and I spent 5 days at the apartment to celebrate our 5th anniversary and could not have been happier. The location is perfect for walking all over the city, one block from the Seine. The neighborhood has everything you could need and many excellent restaurants. We loved looking out the sky light windows at the Eiffel Tower at night. The 100 steps up the winding staircase were not problematic, especially if your don't have a lot of luggage. definitely worth the effort as the apartment is so cute and comfortable. We hope to come back again and stay longer for sure!
My husband and I spent 10 nights at this beautiful apartment in November. St. Germain is a charming neighborhood with everything you might need. It's a perfect starting point for exploring Paris, since most museums and sites are within walking distance. The stairs were challenging, especially with our luggage, but the apartment is well worth the effort. Veronique and Philippe were extremely helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately we were there during the horrific attacks, and Veronique checked in immediately to ensure we were all right and see if we needed anything. We definitely plan to stay here again next time we're in Paris.
Working with Philippe to set up the booking was easy and he was very responsive to our questions and really cared that we have a great time in Paris. Veronique provided a tour of the apartment and made sure we were set to enjoy both it and the city. The location in the St. Germain neighborhood was wonderful, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Metro stops are close and it's also just a nice neighborhood to wander through; proximity to the Seine is a bonus. The apartment is clean and comfortable, and pleasant to be in. It is not huge (although just fine for my wife and I) but well-furnished and efficiently organized so we even enjoyed spending time in it on a rainy winter day. We stayed two weeks and enjoyed the accommodations as much on the last day as the first. Great apartment and people, so when we can next figure a way to get to Paris we'll be contacting Philippe and hoping the apartment is available..
- The owners and their representative in Paris are professional, prompt, kind, and honest. Exactly the sort of people you hope you get when renting a place overseas. I would rent again solely for the pleasure of dealing with them
- The apartment is probably the closest to the exact geographical center of Paris you can get. You can walk to almost everything, which is unusual and highly valuable, especially if you are coming to do just that.
- Within blocks are many great fine dining restaurants, grocery shopping, wine stores, you name it, you are not in the sticks here.
- Because it's on the top floor, noise from neighbors was negligible. There is great light, and you feel like you really are in Paris.
- The apartment was clean and functional and had everything you would need to be comfortable there. No tv channels in english that I could find, but there was always better entertainment out on the streets!!
- This was unique to my time there, but there is major road construction happening on Rue Dauphine which was very loud and started very early (0645 for you jet laggers). It made getting to the Pont Neuf challenging because there was barely room for one person to walk.
- This may also be remedied by the owners shortly, but the washing machine no longer dries. I would do laundry in the morning, hang it to dry and, maybe, 36 hours later it was usable. Too bad for me that I only brought one pair of pajamas and had to put them on while still very damp. Twice.
- While this location is great for walking to major sites, it's not close to any really useful Metro Station. I may be splitting hairs, but Pont Neuf is on a fairly unimportant line. St Michel is a nightmare of crowds. If you are coming to shop all over Paris (I have already seen all the sights), this makes for additional time spent in the metro getting to where you want to go.
- 96 stairs (there are 2 small ones at the bottom that we can quibble about, but I counted them EVERY TIME!!). Getting your suitcase up, and then back down, is a sweaty nightmare. That does not count the additional staircase inside the apartment (another 18 steps). Again, if you are coming to shop and like to pop back periodically to drop your bags, these are going to slow you down. If you have knee or back problems, no matter how minor, you want to reconsider renting this place. Do NOT take the stairs lightly, unless you are a step aerobics instructor, they are going to impact your stay.
You have one of the many city sponsored bike rental station right at the door of the building. Get your bike when you walk out and rode around Paris. It is fun and romantic
