Thanks for looking at our guest suite. Our century old home is located in beautiful uptown New Orleans very near Tulane and Loyola Universities.
We are 2 houses away from the historic streetcar line that runs to the French Quarter and back. The space is composed of a huge living area, rustically decorated with family memorabilia, animal mounts, a pool table, bar, sleeper queen sofa and big screen cable TV.
The sitting room, queen bedroom and bath are newly renovated. Mardi Gras memorabilia surrounds you in this historic art studio.
We look forward to having you visit our home. Please no pets allowed and absolutely no smoking allowed. Maximum of 4 guests allowed in the space at all times unless discussed previously.

The house was very quiet and spacious.. we felt really welcomed and was given absolute privacy. The neighborhood is amazing and filled with activities and the street car is the way to go! Very nice. I would definitely recommend Ms. Sundmaker to any of my friends. My home away from home.
We were very comfortable at this house. Staci was the most gracious host. We had everything we needed, and it was always nice to come 'home' after a day of being out and about.
This place really should be on the city tour. The main living space is comfortably chock-a-block full of Mardi Gras paraphernalia and old-timey men's club nuggets, including a billiards table and wall mounted hunter's trophies. The double story windows keep it bright and the industrial air conditioner keeps it cool. And while the main room is original and rustic, the bedroom, sitting area and bathroom are all recently done and beautifully clean. It's a private space at the back of the house and feels like a special place...which it is.
The house is close to both Uptown colleges as well as some college bars and restaurants and one of the best bakeries in town. Most importantly, though, is Staci's hospitality. She is welcoming, helpful and thought first of our comfort and enjoyment. Sure hope we can get a reservation next time we come.
We enjoyed all aspects of our stay. The apartment is comfortably and very quaintly furnished, and the owner friendly and accommodating. We made use of the A/C and heat (it was that time of the year) that kept the temperature well under control. We took advantage of the proximity to restaurants within walking distance and used the street car (trolly) to visit French Quarter tourist sites. I was originally concerned about parking our rental car, but with the neighborhood parking permit, this turned out to be no problem at all.
We enjoyed reading the history of family who originally built the house and worked in the studio, and we made good use of the other local information materials that were provided.
The only negative (slight) was the awkward locking system for the door. I would recommend investing in a more standard lock appropriate to a living space rather than the workshop/studio that was its former use.
Bottom line: I will definitely consider staying there again on my next trip to New Orleans.
We spent six days in this fabulous, unusual, fun place -- perfectly located on a beautiful uptown street near Tulane. Safe neighborhood, quick access to the St. Charles streetcar, and within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and parks. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They're exceptionally kind, generous people who made us feel very welcome. We look forward to staying there again very soon.
Safe, established neighborhood.
