Please note that TWO apartments are proposed in this same advert. One has two bedrooms and is named côté JARDIN ('garden side' on account of its lovely terrace that is ornated with a rock garden), the other is called côté MER ('seaside', on account of its truly spectacular and rare 180 degree view of the ocean)
1. Côté JARDIN
This two bedroom apartment has also a sofa bed in the living room and thus the flat allows sleeping for six persons separately and comfortably. The living room gives access to the terrace and has also access to the large entrance hall. This layout allows to preserve the space feeling despite the modest surface of 57 sq.m. The kitchen is separated from the entrance hall and you can cook refined courses without invading the whole living areas with cook smells. The bathroom is small too but it does offer the comfort of a bigger room except that the bathtub has been replaced by a shower. A fine washing-drying machine (as well as a dishwasher) is integrated to the kitchen. Needless to add, the apartment is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, telephone, TV, etc.
2. Côté MER
Because of its exceptional ocean view, this apartment tends to attract attention first in spite of its smaller size (one bedroom and 38 sq. m.). However it to can sleep six persons because there is sofa-bed in the LR, and another one on the large veranda terrace that is accommodated for summer or winter sleeping for two if required. 8. Terrace: It is the best place for breakfast, lunch by day and a wonderful extra bedroom if you need it by night. There is a sofa-bed for two. you will find two heaters for winter evenings. They are necessary if the day was cold, but even only a little sun for a few hours is enough to give the heating a good starting point. In that case, as soon as the sun comes down, the best thing is to turn on the heaters at moderate level (the control for the black heater is on the terrace and Marian will show you how to use it because you must start the heater with it. It will not start simply by being plugged in the wall). That way the terrace will be warm for the whole evening and you can comfortably have dinner and later sleep on it. You should use the strings on each side to pull the curtains otherwise they might not reach their full length easily. Please do not forget to switch off the terrace heaters when you decide to go to bed. Of course this second apartment has all the comforts and advantages of the other one plus a spectacular interactive television. For this one, it is better to reserve well in advance because it tends to be grabbed within the last months of the preceding year...
The residence is at 20 minutes walking distance from the port and the city centre. Down below it there is one of the most beautiful seaside boardwalks anywhere in the world. One can access the city centre and the whole coast all the way to Villefranche and Monaco by four lines of busses, two of which stop a few yards away from the building.
As a university professor, I teach digital culture sociology in Naples and Barcelona, and I give lectures all over the world. I am a widower and father of two married and happy children. I live in the apartment when it's not rented because I feel really good in there. Maybe we'll have the occasion to meet, that would really please me.

I fell in love with the other apartment hung to the cliff. The small garden on the terrace seduced me. Then, when the next door apartment that was looking out onto the sea became available, I didn't hesitate for a single moment. Of course the latter is more spectacular, but I never stopped loving the first one because I spent three happy years in it. As I'm close to retirement (70 years), the rent provides me additional income and, moreover, allows me to live in one or the other apartment, which pleases me.
What first strikes the visitor, besides the sight and sound of the sea, is the really intimate general feeling for anyone living in these apartments. Moreover, côté MER, the layout of the rooms and the hall allows a independent access to each room and to the terrace, providing at the same time a feeling of space in this small apartment. The view is truly breath-taking. The kitchen may seem small but it benefits of all the appointments necessary for fine cooking and while there are plenty of fine restaurants less than 10 minutes down the hill, none has that view and most renters prefer to do their own cooking not to lose a moment of it.
On the GARDEN side, the view is still beautiful and the sound of the sea haunting, but less spectacular than in the other one. The kitchen is bigger and it has two bedrooms which makes it more comfortable for friends and or children.
The view is spectacular. Derrick's seaside apartment was lovely, it is compact,yet fully equipped and feels very spacious. The view is exactly why one travels to the Riviera. Waking up to coffee on the balcony and watching the sea, boats and swimmers just starts the day perfectly. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen is small but packed with everything you would need unless you are planning on roasting a turkey, something I don't worry about on vacation. There is a large dining table with floor to ceiling windows around it which makes having meals very enjoyable. We had the pleasure of meeting both Derrick, the owner, and Marian, the caretaker. Both gentlemen were very accommodating and helpful. As previous reviewers have mentioned, a bottle of champagne was waiting for us and was appreciated. The apartment sits atop a hill from the port, but the walk is not too intense and there is a bus if needed which stops directly in front of the building. The supermarket was a very easy walk. My husband and I did not have a car, we walked a lot, but found the bus very easy when traveling from town to town. I would suggest a bus pass if you do not have a car. To sum up, we loved the apartment and would not hesitate to book again. Thank you Derrick!
This is a wonderful property with fantastic views. It is very well kept and cleaned. The caretakers do a great job and are very caring and friendly, we were warmly greeted with champagne and felt like kings in a palace. We would return for sure, the property is a jewel, many thanks!
My husband and I had the good fortune to stay in both apartments this summer. I had made an error in reserving the apartment and Derrick was flexible and very helpful in figuring out a way to make it work for us. The seaside apartment has a truly glorious view. The bedroom is comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are quite small but well equipped. We ate dinner in the apartment almost every night, enjoying the view and the wonderful local rose wines. The dishes and wine glasses provided are good quality, unlike with most holiday apartments.
The garden apartment is much larger and provides better facilities for cooking and spending time in the apartment. There is still a nice view from the balcony.
It was difficult finding a good place to park our car. We parked on the street/sidewalk across from the apartment, but then got a 35 euro parking ticket. Bus service into the city and further along the coast were convenient and easy to use. There were several swimming areas close by, and the walking path along the seaside was wonderful.
Overall, we would recommend the property and look forward to staying here again.
Les Néréïdes was a wonderful place to stay. Some of the best views we have ever had from an apartment . We sat and watched the sea and boats for hours, and the best bit is waking up, opening the shutters and pressing the button to raise the bed so you can sit up in bed and watch the sea from your bedroom!
A very small but comfortable apartment with everything you could want for a short stay in Nice.
We stayed in the sea side apartment. From walking in, we were blown away by the stunning 180 degree views of the Bay of Angels and the sea. I could have sat on the balcony just looking out, all day, watching everything from fishermen to swimmers. The apartment is compact, but the floor-to-ceiling glass means it feels a lot bigger. The living room is ample, but would benefit from a television (the only television is in the bedroom). The bedroom is a fair size with ample storage. The bed was very comfortable, which was a bonus. The kitchen and bathroom are both very small, but functional. There is no oven in the kitchen, which we discovered after we bought some pizza, but it wasn't a big deal. Carrefoure supermarket is about 10 mins stroll up the hill (less if you're fit) and there's a pizza takeaway too. There are bus stops outside of the apartment and the buses seemed to run on time. It's a lovely walk from the apartment into the port and beyond and takes about 20 minutes. There's plenty to see and lots of eateries along the way. We were there in November and were amazed to see the number of people swimming, even on the colder days. The Saturday of our stay was a very hot day and it appeared that the 'locals' took full advantage of the lovely weather and took to the water en masse. The owner was very helpful and communication with him was excellent. We stayed in a different apartment, at the other end of the prom, for the last couple of visits, which we really enjoyed. However, now we have found this apartment, with it's stunning views, we hope to return there again soon. So yes, I would recommend this (fantastically positioned) property to everyone - but not when we want to be there - ha, ha!.
My husband and I absolutely loved our time in Nice, especially staying at this nice apartment. The views are way better than the pics. the apartment is clean and comfortable. It was really stunning to awaken every morning to that view, plus well rested from sleeping in such a comfy bed. The apartment is small but has all the amenities you need and it feels much bigger because the back walls are all floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean and Nice. Truly a million dollar views. It is about 20-25 minutes walking distance to the center of Nice and it is in a very quiet and safe area with a supermarket less than 5 minutes walking distance. From the beginning Derrick was very helpful and he was kind enough to greet us at the airport at our arrival as he was taking a plane that pm. Our contact in Nice, Richard, was very nice and helpful as well. We just loved the whole experience and I truly felt home away from home. We are definitely going back, hopefuly soon. We rented a car but it was very difficult to find a place to park as there is not parking space in the building.
The apartments both have a beautiful sea view. they are very luminous, ideally located by the seashore, on the waterfront, in a privileged, quiet, and residential area at Cap de Nice, close to the harbour and the old city. It is 5 minutes away by foot from the beaches and from a Carrefour supermarket, 20 minutes away by foot from shopping facilities and from the city centre, 35 minutes away by foot from Villefranche, and 30 minutes from Monaco with 2 bus stops in front of the building (peaceful because the building is on the seafront, the street is behind.)
Both benefit from all comforts: wireless Internet access, colour TV, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, tiled stove, electric roller blinds in every room. A cleaning service is available. The larger of the two (57Msq.) is named côté JARDIN (because of its small but charming terrace with a rock garden) boasts three rooms, with one queen size bed in the main bedroom, a double bed in the guest bedroom, and a sofa-bed in the living room. The terrace with a rock garden overlooks the sea. The living room, the main bedroom, the rooms, and the terrace have sea views.
Located on the seashore in the Cap de Nice, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, both apartments are at a walking distance from the beach (300 m away) that you can also reach with the public transports, close to 3 fine restaurants (300 m away), the harbour (1100 m away), and the city centre (1500 m away). So it's not necessary to have a car especially as two bus lines stop in front of the building in both directions and two others at less than 5 minutes away by foot.
This 3-rooms apartment, with a living room, a bedroom for two people, a guest bedroom, a large entrance hall, and a terrace with garden is furnished and fully equipped. It has been renovated recently. The kitchen is separate. The bathroom consists in a washbasin, a shower, and toilets.
South oriented, the apartment is very bright, air-conditioned and fully equipped. There are 4 sleeps and a sofa-bed (living room).An Internet access, a TV, and a telephone (to landlines all over the world) are available. You will only hear the sound of the sea and the boats passing.
