Great location- pet friendly!

We stayed at this property for the first time last week. The location of the villas is great for families. We were right next to the pool, market, guest services and gym. The condo has a great ocean view and everything in it worked well. The fact that we could bring our two dogs with us was a huge bonus! The owner was absolutely super to work with and full of helpful tips. She even told us from whom to rent a golf cart. We had a terrific time and we are already planning our trip for next year. We are very much looking forward to staying at this property again next summer!

Not a refreshing place to stay.

The best thing about this condo was the view and the updated bathrooms. Beyond that I struggle to mention anything positive. The condo was not clean when we arrived. Before we could unload our groceries we had to throw away the food from the previous renter. The drawers in the bathroom had a used bar of soap and as well as toiletries from a previous renter. Several lamps had no light bulbs. Dirty cleaning rags were left in a pile in the laundry room with open cleaning products on the shelf. The kitchen was the worst room in the condo. We had to call the owner to have spoons brought to us as well as serving bowls. Several items were rusted and unusable. Only two eyes on the 25 year old stove worked. The air vents were thick with dust (hopefully not mold) and the whole place felt dirty. We have stayed on Fripp 17 years and have never had such a bad experience.

Owner's Response: We welcome and encourage feedback from our guests. We were equally concerned and had needed items brought to our guest within an hour. A 2nd thorough cleaning including removing dirt from the ceiling air conditioning vents was completed at a time convenient for our guests and their text indicated all was in order. We have scheduled a total renovation of our kitchen and are replacing carpeting with wood flooring right after Labor Day. As we generally have back-to-back rentals during the summer our major renovations take place in the autumn months.

Disgustingly filthy

We could not wait to get home, take showers and bathe our dog - have never stayed in a place this badly in need of cleaning. If they allowed us to post photos here, it would be very helpful. Words barely do the situation justice.

_Black mold on ceiling air vents and in spots where the wall meets the ceiling; other vents are completely fuzzed over with dust and grime.

_Be careful walking into the hall bathroom, as the ceiling air vent drips water constantly

_30-yr-old mini-blind in master bedroom does not raise on both sides, ruining the view through the dirty windows

_All carpet in all rooms has many, many stains and we assume this is where the urine smell comes from (could be mold smell though). We had to drive 30-minutes to Walmart for Febreeze and jar candles to try to cover it. I wore shoes the entire time (even getting up in the middle of the night) but my son had socks on that became black from walking on the floors. They obviously have not been cleaned in a long, long time, if ever.

_When we moved the chair in the living area, we moved it right back because it was covering what appears to be a large, uncleaned vomit stain on the carpet. Unbelievable.

_Both showers appeared to have been wiped down with Comet-type cleanser, but not rinsed. So we showered amidst white wipe marks on the shower walls and floor in both bathrooms.

_ Lack of vacuuming is most noticeable in the crevices of the steps, where dirt and hair are over-abundant

_The master bedroom ceiling fan is scary how bad it flops around. There is masking tape wedged in it to help stop it from wobbling, but that's not doing the trick

_There's peeling paint and holes in the linoleum

_When he cleaned out the disposal in the kitchen sink, my husband found duct tape, a plastic cap and another piece of plastic in the standing water

_Front left burner of stove doesn't work

_Crumbs and hairs in drawers of kitchen and bedrooms

_Dust layer on things like tops of TVs, etc. The air filters are filthy, probably contributing to that problem

_The lint trap in the dryer looks like a fire hazard, and needs to be thoroughly cleaned (more than I cleaned it)

It's a great location on the beach, but don't rent this one. My complaint went without any recompense. I will say the landlord was nice to give us dining tips over the phone before our vacation began... and she was nice to return something my son had left behind in the bedroom. You would have to PAY ME to stay in this place again. It was torturous.

Owner's Response: As absentee owners we welcome and depend on the feedback of our guests to assure that the standards we have set are maintained. Our cleaning and handyman are on island available for any and all cleaning, repairs or replacements needed for our guests. Unfortunately, this guest denied (in our e-mails) additional cleaning during her stay and so the issues were addressed upon departure. We have had back-to-back booking since Memorial Day with repeat guests the week before and the week after. New blinds are to be added after Labor Day and we are contracted to replace all flooring and remodel our kitchen in Sept and Oct. This is the time of year that we renovated the bathrooms, added a powder room, window and doors and replace furniture and furnishings.

This condo is in the ideal location! Beautiful ocean front view! The bathrooms have all been updated in this unit - love the washer and dryer! Walking distance to all the amenities and steps from the beach! Our dog loved it, too!!

Great Place!

We stayed here the first week in August and it was great! Very clean and ready to go upon our arrival. The owner was great to work with and always reachable. Plenty of room for three people and our dog. Great view, easy beach access, three pools within about a two minute walk, and perfect mid island location. Fripp is a great place if you are looking for a beach vacation without all of the people and noise or if you really enjoy nature. Very relaxing week for us! We will be back and when we start making plans this will be the first place that we check for availability!
