The cabin on the lake was the site for our family vacation that we just completed this past week oct 22-29.... what a wonderful experience we had....cabin lived up to our expectations, very clean and in order, plenty fresh linens, fully stocked kitchen with all utensils, comfortably slept 6 adults, plenty of parking for our vehicles and boats, great fishing pier and we utilized boat slips for our 2 bass boats....

The BBQ grill came in a handy for first nites stay for hamburger and hot dogs and later in week for a big BBQ....our last nite there we enjoyed a big fish fry on the deck....

So comfortable and relaxing you just can't beat it and anything else you might need or forgotten could be found at stores just minutes down the road.... what a great location!!! I'm sure we'll be back for another vacation....

A slice of paradise!!!

We just returned from a Father's Day extended weekend at the cabin on the lake. I recently graduated from graduate school (MSN) and was in need of recovery time and family time. Everything was great and the accommodations were perfect to suit our group of teens and adults. The A/C was cold, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked and everything was clean and inviting. The pier and fishing dock was fantastic and we spent a great deal of time enjoying the lake on the cove. We swam, fished, floated, and just hung out on the deck. The private boat ramp was an extra bonus, and my husband easily launched his boat and kept it in the boat slip overnight for the entire stay. The fishing at night from the deck was a special treat, and we caught several striped bass, crappie, and catfish. There were grocery stores, bait shops, gas stations, and even a few restaurants within approximately 5 mile driving distance. The roads are paved to the cabin and early morning walks were very peaceful. The owners were very gracious and accommodated our stay with short notice. I highly recommend this place as a "get away from it all" and "get back to nature" getaway. My family is looking forward to returning and making more memories! Thanks again Cynthia!

Ok but could have been better

The boathouse and boat launch were the best part of this place. However, the boathouse is covered in spiderwebs and spiders. I'm a country girl so I'm not scared of spiders but this was a ridiculous amount of spiders. You couldn't walk close to any of the railing or posts without spiders or spiderwebs getting on you. There was only one bedroom with a bed larger than a twin so it's would be good for one couple and kids. Having to take your own trash to a dump that is only open a couple of hours early in the morn and late in the evening was a pain. The grass was really high but someone came and mowed it the evening before we left. The place just really looked kind of neglected.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your opinion. We pressure wash regularly to rid the dock of spiders. I will see to it that the cleaning service gives special attention to that area in between the pressure washing. The bedding arrangements are clearly disclosed on the website. We are in the process of placing a dumpster onsite. And, as you know, grass grows fast. Our service cuts twice per month. I hope your next visit is more pleasant, and, in the future, if you stay with us again, please do not hesitate to contact the owners if something is not to your satisfaction when you arrive. This would allow us to correct the issue and attend to your needs promptly, as is our policy. Best to you for a happy summer! Owners of the Log Cabin on the Lake.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

We brought 6 eighteen year old boys to the cabin for their senior trip. The cabin was perfect! AC worked great, LOTS of hot water (for all those showers), everything was as advertised. The boathouse was great for fishing (we caught around 250 white perch, catfish, bream, & bass in three nights). Kids had a wonderful time and even asked when we could come back. The only thing I would recommend is some more heavy duty utensils in the kitchen - like wooden spoons. When cooking for 11 people, there's a lot of food in those pots. I was stirring a big boiling pot of spaghetti, and the plastic spoon I was using broke, plunging my hand into the boiling water. I'm fine, but it could have been bad. Other than this tiny thing, it was wonderful! Thanks so much!

Simply fabulous!!!!

Our family had a excellent time! The boat dock was amazing. We caught a lot of fish right off the dock! The house was wonderful and spacious. We will definitely be back in the future. I've stayed at about 15 houses on this site and this was the overall best so far. Thanks again!!!
