Nestled above Curwensville Lake, the cottage is in a country setting, next to the host home, yet only about 12 miles from Interstate 80.It will sleep up to four with a queen-size bed in loft and a sleeper couch in the front room. It has HD satellite flatscreen TV with DVD player, a fully equipped kitchen, keurig, outdoor grilling area, hot tub, and a relaxing tree swing overlooking the lake and beautiful West Branch of the Susquehanna River Valley. Wildlife (such as turkey, whitetail deer, grouse, and an occasional black bear) abounds in central PA and often make appearances around the cottage. Even Bald Eagles often soar in the valley as their nest is directly below the cottage.
This charming country cottage was completed in 2011 and is within the PA Wilds part of central Pennsylvania. We can't begin to thank you enough for this perfect getaway. You have an amazing home, thank you for sharing that with us. this is the ideal get away I needed to take a step back from my daily life on the ground in Afghanistan. Also if you haven't taken the opportunity to go explore Pennscave, I highly reccommend it. We will definitely be reccommending your cottage to our friends. May God bless you and your family.
P.S. Please keep me in your prayers as I travel back over seas.
We really enjoyed our stay, the cabin was perfect for the two of us.
pennsylvania was beautiful this time of year, Jim & Karen Were nice & friendly.
This little cottage had everything we needed for an extended weekend away from the hustle and bustle of home w/ three teenagers. Cool mornings on the front porch with a cup of coffee for me and tea for my wife were very nice. We ventured out for most of the day, but returned in the evening for a movie and a little popcorn. I would recommend a day trip to state college even if you are not a penn state fan. We also enjoyed a couple of the local antique shops. The lady who owns the one right there in Curwensville was so sweet and kind ... very reasonable on her prices as well. She also recommended the larger one in Clearfield which is an old department store w/ all kinds of history and three floors of some really cool stuff. Overall, this cottage was a great base camp with all of the necessary essentials and the owners, even though, right next door respected our privacy. I would highly recommend for a little time away. Beautiful mountain cottage overlooking the Curwensville Lake. The pictures on the website are a perfect representation of the cottage and the spectacular view. Every corner of the cottage was quaintly decorated, inside and out. Kitchen was well stocked. Linens were abundant. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the view from the living room, side porch and from the hot tub. The cottage is close to the host home, but our privacy never felt compromised. This rental was a perfect get-a-way!!!
We came here for our honeymoon and was blown away at the view. The cottage is perfect for 2 adults wanting a quiet, relaxing getaway. We wasn't sure if we would see the eagle and we saw her soaring above the water and trees 4 times. We loved sitting by the fire watching the sun go down, along with being in the hot tub was relaxing. Very romantic setting. Would definitely book again with the hostess.
My boyfriend and I had a really great time. The cottage was well equipped and the view was amazing. We brought our boat and enjoyed some fishing. We spent some time at the pub/restaurant Hangars right down the road. The food was pretty good and the bartender was a doll. Overall our weekend was a success and will look forward to booking another stay here.
