About the property

Delightfully renovated cottage with large bedroom, terrace, garden & WIFI

A charming small stone secluded house with a large Mediterranean garden, set on a traditional moorish agricultural terrace, in Deia. (This house has the official tourist letting licence - ETV fully approved). Recently refurbished and internally modernised, with WIFI, the house is perfect for a couple seeking a blissful escape. (Also has AC in the bedroom). The garden is large and has many trees: Lemon, orange, almond, olive, quince and a few bougainvilleas. Generous sized pebble & terracotta terrace around the house. The house which is light and airy with high ceilings looks towards the sea and church, it has a beautiful vista. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven/grill, ceramic hob, extractor fan & fridge. The bedroom has air-conditioning and there is powerful shower in the bathroom, the house also has underfloor heating. The house is not suitable for children due to the nature of the moorish terraces, in which it is privately located.

Please feel free to contact me if your dates are not available...sometimes I can make changes and occasionally offer discounts. I try to be flexible wherever possible.

Location and Area: This house is perfect for a couple who want to explore the picturesque pueblo of Deia. Located just out of the village centre (a 5 minute walk to Forn Deia - the fabulous village bakery and deli) make it a peaceful place to stay and yet not at all far from the amazing restaurants of the village. Cala Deia is 20 minute walk down the valley, through lower village which is called Es Clot. Puerto Sóller is a 15 minute drive, here you can find a large sandy beach and more lovely Spanish restaurants. Needless to say it is ideally located for those who wish to hike in the beautiful Sierra de Tramuntana mountains. Breathtaking views when you hike to either Valledemossa or Sóller.

House Facilities: The kitchen and living area are open-plan, you will find bookshelves with maps, games, books and Ipod/Iphone music player. It is furnished with a sofa, footstool, armchair, butchers block, dinning chairs & table. About Penny

Fell in love with Deia in 2002 on holiday to Soller. Just adore being outside and pottering in the garden or hiking the coastal and mountain trails around Deia, and of course swimming in sea. We were very lucky to find this little gem. Everyone who stays totally loves it. Special.

Why Penny chose Deia - Soller Region

It is unique as it is a whole house for a couple - providing space to move around, unlike an apartment or hotel with shared areas. It's location so handy for the village for nights when you don't want to do cook - no driving required!

What makes this house unique

Quite simply the views and the space. Beautiful vistas to the sea and surrounding mountains. You can see and feel the village from terrace, look up to the church and hear the softy chiming bells, yet it is located just far enough out of the actual centre for it to be private and serene.

Deià is a small coastal village which is known for its literary and musical residents. Set in an idyllic landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana coastal mountains, with orange, lemon and olive groves on steep cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean. Deiá served as a draw for German, English, and American expatriates after the War. It lies directly north of Palma, the village is easily accessed by the Valledemossa road, it is approximately 40 mins from the airport.

The village remains completely unspoilt, the beautiful warm hue of the stone houses with their pastel painted shutters makes it welcoming sight. The village is now a gastronomic hot-spot with over 6 fine dining style restaurants and many more fabulous casual dinning places. Everything is walkable, although you shouldn't be afraid of hills and the odd stone step. Being located in the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Sierra de Tramuntana mountains it is also an ideal location for walkers and hikers in the cooler months. Cycling is also very popular as the main road is frequently used by cycle teams training for the Tour de France and other such races.

A pretty house in the most perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

When we booked The Little House we hoped it would live up to it's pictures but it far exceeded our expectations. It was simply perfect in every way. It was equipped like a home not a holiday cottage with more pans and crockery than I have at home! The bedroom was nicely furnished with a lovely comfortable bed and the views through the French windows to the church were breathtaking. The sunny terrace and pretty gardens were fantastic with lots of options for eating alfresco and the sun beds amazingly comfortable.

Penny was so caring and helpful both before, during and after our stay as was the lovely Marta .Deia is a stunning village and has some fantastic restaurants together with two village shops, all a few minutes walk away, you really have little reason to venture out of it.

The Little House is hidden gem in Deia and, if I'm honest would like to keep it hidden from everyone so that I can secure a booking for next year!

Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This was our third visit to the property as my wife and I love it so much. It is a wonderful house set in beautiful surroundings. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the terrace and admiring the stunning views. It's the sort of place where you can completely relax. The kitchen in the house is very well equipped if you want to cook although there are plenty of excellent restaurants just a short walk away. This really is the perfect place to stay and we will be returning again this summer.

Charming house and wonderfully relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

we have just spent a week in Penny's house in Deia and had a truly wonderful time relaxing with our books on the terrace during the day then dining in some of Deia's spendid restaurants in the evening all easily accessible from the house

Penny was the perfect host and was immeadiately on hand whenever we needed to contact her

sitting on the terrace on our return from the village was our particular favourite part of the day, warm nights a nightcap and the sound of the church clocktower gently reminding us of the hour, perfect !

Beautiful home and location

  • 5 of 5

I echo all of the effusive praise that you can read from the other folks who have stayed at this little house. As they mention, the house is nicely tucked away on its own private piece of land, with great views of the surrounding hills of Deia, and with the exception of wifi, there's everything you could want at the house, including hiking maps, champagne (!), and air conditioning (!!). My wife and I were on our honeymoon, and so we spent a fair amount of time just relaxing there, only venturing out of Deia when the jackhammers from a nearby construction project forced us to explore the rest of the island--Puerto Soller, Pollenca, Valdemossa. As other reviewers have mentioned, the courtyard is very cute and colorful and excellent for sipping cold drinks, although in the month of June the ants also seem to enjoy hanging out there. All that to say, if you're looking for a place to stay on Mallorca, I strongly recommend Penny's place. She was very, very helpful and communicative before, during, and after the booking process, and her team of property managers in town were also extremely helpful once we arrived in town, exhausted from our twentysome hours of travel in reaching Mallorca from Seattle.

Wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house! My husband and I spent the first week of our honeymoon here and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the rental. The casita is completely charming: light and airy, clean and stylish, with comfortable space enough for two, a smart library that included regional cookbooks and tons of tips on what to do and see in Mallorca, and a very up-to-date kitchen stocked with staples and spices--we loved cooking there. The bedroom is so comfortable and has french doors overlooking the gorgeous hills of Deia, resulting in breathtaking views each morning. One of our favorite features of the house was the garden patio looking out to the sea. After days spent hiking, swimming, and exploring the breathtaking scenery of Mallorca, we would spend our evenings dining in world-class Deia restaurants followed by evenings on the patio, sipping cocktails surrounded by the twinkling lights in the hills. The house is extremely conveniently located, just a short scenic walk to the center of town, a market/bakery/wineshop, a bar with live music in the evenings, and those phenomenal restaurants. We enjoyed especially memorable meals at Es Racó d'es Teix and Sebastian's. The house is also a 30-minute walk through olive groves and vistas to Cala Deia, the stunning little town beach with cerulean water and a great fresh fish restaurant for lunch. I will also add that Deia, unlike some of the other nearby historic towns, has a policy that does not allow tour buses to stop. This means that this town lacks the T-shirt and trinket shops cluttering some of the other towns, and has more of a peaceful and genuine feel--which was perfect for us! Renting this house and staying in Deia was the most romantic way to begin our trip. We felt at home and were almost sad to leave and continue on to Barcelona for the rest of our vacation, and that should be proof enough of how fabulous this house and town really are. We can't wait to visit again!
