Large Home away from it all, but close to springfield and Branson

  • 4 of 5

We were going to a wedding in Springfield and we were not sure how many would be staying with you. This house is quite large! Very nice and clean! Large dinning room, good size kitchen and another living room! Nice set up, pictures don't do it justice! We enjoyed our trip and the house. We did have a problem with the air-conditioner, and owner returned call right away. We would have rated this excellent, but the water pressure was not good and the house was a little musky. Two large outdoor patio's were nice, but bbq was dirty and not much propane, so we didn't use it. If you have a large family this is the house, if you don't mind the above.

Very Beautiful Home and Property

  • 4 of 5

We thought the house was very nice and large enough for everyone. The basketball court was nice and there was plenty of room to play washers and have a fire and just enjoy the beautiful and peaceful outdoors. The location was perfect between Springfield and Branson. It was so nice that the family wants me to rent it again next year.

Great place for a retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for three nights as a women's retreat. It worked perfect for us. We had 11 women. The large living area was a great size for our meeting times. The large decks provided outside space to enjoy the beautiful view and relax. The dining room seated all of us. We would definitely use it again.

Family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We had a family reunion with people coming from Georgia, Illinois,Iowa,Wisconsin and Minnesota. The house was great. There was plenty of space for all with a large great room/bar and a huge master suite. The property was clean. The neighboring town of Nixa has everytthing you need (walmart, food and other stores). The area is at the end of a subdivision and is very quiet. We went to Silver Dollar City and saw some shows in Branson plus went to Lamberts (throwed rolls) which is close by. Free wi-fi and Netflix was a hit especially with the younger ones.Worth a visit.

Worked well for us

  • 5 of 5

Rented this home for family who came from a distance for a wedding. Needs a little maintenance on the outside, but was clean inside. Nice to be together yet not have all in the same room all the time. Master bedroom walk in closet is big enough for a queen air mattress and a pack-'n-play will fit in other bedroom closets. Seating for dining allowed additional family/friends to come for a "groom's dinner". Was a great way to celebrate as children could come along and people were in no hurry to leave. Younger children can go outside because it is away from traffic and is also helpful to have the washer/dryer for them. Water pressure is not great, especially in the upstairs bath, but was not impossible to work around. Plan on a little extra time, avoid using both showers at the same time, and wait to run the dishwasher or wash machine until finished in the bathrooms. Be ready to get some basic supplies, but there are places nearby to get what you need. Overall made some good memories together here.

Owner's Response: The outside has been taken care of. I did not know it needed to be power washed so badly. There should be soap, paper towels and toilet paper. I'm not sure what basic supplies would be missing.

Nice, but inflated, slightly embellished description

  • 3 of 5

The property land was beautiful and there was a short trail into the woods we walked down. The house was old, but nice. The outside looked pretty shabby and could use a good pressure washing but we were relieved to find that the inside was clean, nice, and homey. Saying it sleeps 20, however, is a stretch as we counted 18 at most and 9-12 comfortably. There was very little water pressure and the we'll probably needs a new pump. That was frustrating and made showers, baths, laundry, and dishes difficult and long. The grill was dirty and the propane tanks were empty. We were not given the house code by the day of check in so we called the owner. We never got ahold of her so we had to call the "emergency contact" to get the code. In the middle of our stay, the owner texted us to see if we would be available to show the house to some other potential guests. Even though they ended up working that out another way, I felt it intrusive in our stay to expect us to provide or allow a walk thru for someone else during our vacation. I know this is a lot, but overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we have a large group like we did.

Owner's Response: (I thought I had already responded to this). I live in 9 hours away, so I have to rely on a couple of friends to keep an eye on the place. The outside has been attended to, I did not realize it was getting into bad shape. The number for sleeping arrangements includes futon couches, futon chairs and a couple of mattresses, some of which are for a smaller person/child. A future guest asked to see the place so I asked if you would mind, but I did not expect anything. She did not end up coming to town that day.
