Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday home in Arizona - Tumbling Rock Ranch

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

THE PERFECT RETREAT at 'Tumbling Rock Ranch'

55 miles west of Williams

Welcome to "Tumbling Rock Ranch”. A unique and beautifully vibrant experience. We are located in the middle of a real western working cattle ranch where cows roam freely and Elk and Deer abound. This is truly the old west as our ancestors saw it and now you can too.

Imagine waking up and your first view will not be the house across the street or the sound of traffic but of a sea of evergreen filled valleys and mountains. Peaceful serene hardly describes it. Here you will not hear the sounds of cars and trucks roaring past but the peaceful solitude, broken occasionally by a Ravens call or a Bluejays chattering. A stargazers delight, no sounds of civilization here.

Enjoy our 3500-square foot newer custom built rambling ranch home with a 73-foot covered patio to take in the panoramic views. Home also boasts a large saloon-style recreation room with a cowboy bar, pool table, games table, 72” TV and a cozy fireplace. The residence has two King beds and a Queen bed, with 2 queen futons and queen sofa bed (very comfortable queen futon in 4th bedroom/den, other futon in rec room), 2 mattress cots, 1 queen air mattress and 2 fold out foam beds( good for kids). The home will easily accommodate up to 10 guests. We have a lot of house for the money. We are located an easy scenic drive 1 hour 40 minutes from the Grand Canyon Gates. If you are coming from Las Vegas (west and north of the ranch), we are on the way to the canyon (Vegas 2 1/2 hours from ranch, Grand Canyon further east). If you need more room we also rent a cozy cabin on the 80 acres, sleeps up to 4, check it out VRBO 431984.

Take a few extra days if possible, you will find your stay very rewarding. Rather than the usual touristy type venues come home each day to a comfortable, spacious home. While you are here you will see many things the average tourist never sees. Guests who stay at the ranch have become friends and have returned for multiple stays, they loved the home, exploring the ranch and the surrounding area, which has so much to offer.

With fantastic hiking and spectacular mountaintop views, guests can choose to be physically challenged or just relax and recharge. Favorite evening activities include unwinding around the outdoor fireplace, roasting marshmallows while stargazing, storytelling, and toasting the day’s events.

Ideal for romantic getaways, family reunions, or as a corporate retreat.

We invite you to join us in the beautiful Juniper Mountains of northwest Arizona. We are surrounded by working cattle ranches, a green forest of pinion pines and cedars, close to ancient Native American ceremonial sites and Route 66. Experience nature and American history at Tumbling Rock Ranch. Check out more pictures and info on our website.

Local activities include world-class hiking and visiting several nearby ancient Native American ceremonial sites with towering cliffs of petroglyphs and ancient mountain top ruins south of the ranch. We provide personalized private tours of the area, (no other tourists). The countryside is a rock hound’s delight and pieces of pottery, arrowheads and fossils abound. A truly spiritual unspoiled piece of nature.

Close to Seligman, the birthplace of Route 66, the climate is moderate, year round, with few exceptions. We are at 5800 feet elevation and though we get some beautiful snowfall a few times each season, it generally melts within a day or two. We are 2 1/2 hrs from Vegas and 2 hours from Hoover Dam. Grand Canyon Caverns are close by, just 35 miles from the ranch. It is the largest dry subterranean cavern in the U.S. Also nearby are Supai Falls, Grand Canyon Skywalk, Oatman (old gold mining town on route 66), Laughlin (gambling and the Colorado River), Lake Mojave, Lake Havasu (London Bridge) and Horseback also offered in our area

As your hosts we try to make this your best vacation ever. Feel free to as us for more information about our tour or any destinations in the area.

Wildlife commonly seen include elk, deer, javalina, antelope, coyote, bobcat, and wild burros.

Check out our Tumbling Rock Ranch website for more pictures!!

About Carolyn Besler

My husband and I have been savoring the beauty of the Juniper Mountains for the past 12 years. We built and decorated the home with a keen attention to detail and a great deal of pride. We started renting it out in September 2011 and have enjoyed a steady flow of guests from all over the country and world. We have four children and nine grandchildren who live somewhat scattered along the west side of the continent. We live on the 80 acres and share a cozy cabin nearby with our border collie mix, Roxy, and papillon, Sam.

Carolyn Besler purchased this house in 2007

Why Carolyn Besler chose Arizona

It's a little piece of paradise. This property is peaceful and quiet and away from it all, but an easy drive to all the attractions.

A Great vacation in "The Real West"

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed this home so very much. It was spacious, and beautiful. My son said, “This is so “The West”, which is exactly what we wanted. The rooms were very comfortable, and there were plenty of sleeping areas for all eight family members. Our boys loved the game room with a side bedroom, and extra beds. This was their “Man Cave”. The girls loved their room with an entrance from the terrace and plenty of closet space. The master suite with a sitting area was great. The beds were very comfortable and great after a day of touring. Everything was clean and we were all very comfortable.

The roomy kitchen was where we all spent time preparing and enjoying our meals. There were a lot of supplies that were already provided and this was very helpful as it was a bit of a distance to a store.

We enjoyed exploring the area around the house, but we especially enjoyed a tour by Don, the owner. We spent one day on the tour becoming engulfed in the history of the area. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Of course we loved the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Sunset Crater, The Painted Desert and

so many other beautiful places. What a time we had.

Our trip was so great and was made memorable from the moment Don met us at the door and showed us the house and all the amenities. Don and Carolyn were so kind and made us feel right at home. We had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much.

Very Nice

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice. The home owners were very nice. The property is very pretty and quiet. We enjoyed the private tour that Don offers to Petroglyph Valley located nearby on a local cattle ranch. We saw and learned a lot. It is not too far from the Grand Canyon and not to far from Vegas for less expensive flights. Would love to go back again.

Stunning and Secluded

  • 5 of 5

This ranch house is about 10 miles off the highway in the midst of the mountain desert. Views are stunning and so is the house. It is perfect for a true getaway from hectic life.

The house is well stocked with amenities and the game room is such a treat. Our kids entertained themselves with pool and card games all the time we were there. Not once did they ask to watch TV.

There is a large kitchen for cooking, very comfortable bedrooms and lots of space inside and out.

Carolyn and Don are gracious hosts and attentive if you need anything.

Exactly what we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

Spent 4 nights at Tumbling Rock ranch with our 4 sons and loved it. The pictures don't lie: the home is spacious, clean and western wonderful. The owners live elsewhere on the ranch but out of sight, unless something is needed. Nice having them reachable since you are in the wilderness. Most attractions require driving, but we enjoyed the drives. Williams is one hour away and great for families, especially Bearizona. Don't miss it. Don's local tour was worth 4+ hours; the Indian petroglyphs are interesting, but the boys really enjoyed climbing rocks and riding roughshod in the bed of Don's truck! There's not much to do on the ranch itself, but we had no problem keeping the kids occupied inside the house . Endless games, DVDs, s'mores by the fire, etc. And the night-time sky is amazing. For suburbanites like us, it was exactly the experience we wanted to give our kids. Skip the hotel, rent an SUV and stay here.

Terrific Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

The accommodations were out of the best western movies you've ever seen. This spacious home is comfortable with a grandiose bar, pool table, poker table a baby grand piano, large kitchen and dining area, two fireplaces and comfortable bedrooms and baths. Western memorabilia is sprinkled throughout. There were eight of us, a family of four and two sets of grandparents with plenty of room for everyone. The ranch is remote and the surrounding country is beautiful with great hiking trails and much to see. A special adventure was the petroglyph tour by Don, our host and the owner. Evenings we enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and a sky full of stars and would finish off watching one of the hundreds of DVDs available in the video library. Daytime we could relax on the patio or explore the surroundings. We took a side trip to the Grand Canyon, driving to Williams where we caught a train to the Grand Canyon. Don was the perfect host, tending to our every need.

It was a great visit which we all enjoyed immensely. I can't imagine anyone who would be disappointed by visiting Tumbling Rock Ranch.
