Sleeps six in two bedrooms and an apartment

A large traditional Bastide on three levels, expertly renovated and furnished to a luxury standard. An apartment is located on the ground floor with internal and external access. A feature of the Bastide, located near the main entrance, is an ancient Lavoir converted to a fish pond and surrounded by decking. The garden on the south side is laid to lawn with olive and fruit trees and flower beds but the main feature is a large free-form infinity pool and beach. A high level plunge pool is a central feature. Large terraces surround the house and pool, a shower room,summer kitchen with gas BBQ and a Boules court complete the outside facilities. A veranda running along two sides of the house at the first floor level provides a large terrace for outdoor living and shade at the ground floor level. Distant sea views can be seen from the garden and terrace. Ample garden chairs and tables are provided. The property is hedged around the boundary and there is a large parking space.

Local amenities: Roquefort les Pins has quaint local shops, a supermarket and restaurants offering excellent value beside superb cuisine (Auberge du Colombier was featured in British Airways magazine) and La Table de Mon Moulin is a fantastic gastronomic experience and the old mill is charming.

The villa is 10 minutes by car to the the lively medieval village of Valbonne with its many restaurants, galleries and shops and lively Friday market.

Things to do: The village of Roquefort adjoins the Opio-Valbonne golf course with additional golf courses at Biot, Mougins and Mandelieu all within easy reach. The amenities are varied: Tennis clubs (at Le Vignal at Opio, Villeuneuve-Loubet) horse riding (St.George at Villeneuve Loubet, Plascassier). Some of the most spectacular walks of the Cote d'Azur are all on the doorstep.

The beaches of Juan les Pins, Antibes, Golfe Juan and Cannes are within 30 mins drive from the villa. Pebble beaches in Villeneuve Loubet near Marineland.

Distances: The nearest village is the village of Valbonne at 5 mins drive from the villa. Valbonne has lots of good restaurants, terraces, banks, a postoffice, shops and boutiques. A weekly market on friday. Driving into the other direction is Biot at 10 mins drive. Well known for its glass blowing. Cannes is at 25 mins drive. Marineland with its dolphin and orka shows is at 20 mins drive.

We cannot stop talking about the wonderful experience we had, two weeks holiday at this beautiful Bastide homestead villa in summer 2014, I keep thinking of what great holiday our family had, we can thoroughly recommend. We arrived and were met by Jo, one of the most accommodating and helpful people imaginable, nothing was a problem. This much loved home has attention to detail in every way, antiques, pots and knickknacks from around the Med. This stunning property offers everything for our large family, great for family barbeques by the pool or more sophisticated family gatherings, what an unforgettable couple of weeks. There were days we did not want to leave the house, it was just too peaceful lying by the pool and enjoying the ambience this house exudes. When we did venture out, everything was in close proximity from supermarket to restaurants and the wonderful Antibes and Nice markets not to be missed and of course the surrounding villages of St. Paul de Vence, Valbonne and many others. Also close by Cannes and Eze, even the Italian border not far. We can highly recommend this property it is of the highest calibre.

Roquefort les Pins is a small provencal village conveniently situated on the road between Grasse and Cagnes sur Mer (Nice). The villa is in quiet residential area within 15 minutes walking distance of the shops in the village. It is ideally placed to enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery of the interior.

The beach, Nice Airport and Antibes harbour are all 30 minutes drive.

Bathroom 2, on the upper landing, reflects the Turkish flavour of bedroom 2 has a spa corner bath and shower cubicle beautifully tiled from floor to ceiling with rich coloured, hand made, Turkish tiles personally imported by the owners. The nearby separate toilet is identically decorated. A pool shower (wet-room) is situated adjacent to the entrance into the house from the pool and also contains a toilet.

  • The bedrooms are reached from a stairway leading from the dining/sitting room to a small landing with doors leading to the master bedroom, the second bedroom and separate bathroom and toilet. The master bedroom has French windows. It is elegantly furnished and has an open plan en-suite bathroom and dressing room leading off from one end. A flat screen television with Satellite TV and UK free-view programmes is wall mounted near the bed. The second bedroom has much character with a double bed positioned in an alcove created by a small mezzanine with a double futon for emergency/child use. Another single bed serves as a sofa. The tasteful decor is completed by raw silk, turquoise curtains and intricately embroidered Greek cushions and coverlets. A small flat-screen TV is provided. The third bedroom is situated in the well fitted apartment which is integral to the villa but also has an independent entrance.
