One of the best rentals this veteran house rental family has ever stayed at!!
Adam's place is a true gem and was even better than pictures and description. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the design of the house to the cleanliness, to the detailed instructions and local tips. Location is perfect for exploring Volcanos National Park and beyond. Hot tub was clean and much enjoyed in its secluded jungle setting. Perfect in all aspects.
Thank you so much! I designed and built the house myself, so this means a great deal to me. The housekeepers are a husband/wife team that I've known a long time and I'll pass on the compliments. I I hope you will come back some time.
Spacious house in the jungle
Very nice location, hot tub is fine, could be more plates and bowls.
I'm glad you all enjoyed it! Occasionally some of the dinnerware gets broken by guests. We'll be sure to replace it, thank you for letting us know.
Beautiful home in a lush setting!
Our family of 6 stayed in this lovely home for a few nights in July of 2018. The open floor plan on the first floor is just beautiful. The kitchen is spacious and had everything we needed during our stay. My family enjoyed the large kitchen table while playing the provided board games. Even though it rained at night, we were able to sit out on the back porch and enjoy the outdoors without getting wet. We also enjoyed the outdoor spa without any bug bites (which was amazing because the flora surrounding the house is amazing!).
The owner was very gracious, answered all my questions quickly and provided top of the notch hospitality. There is a welcome book with helpful tips on how to work things within the house as well as places to visit and restaurants to enjoy in the area.
We hope to stay here again if we can make it back once the park reopens!
I would definitely stay again. Perfect home. The whole area is beautiful. Can’t wait to come back.
Beautiful Home Near Volcanoes National Park
This property was a great choice for our group of six. It rained most of our stay, so we did not use the spa. The fresh fruit, including tiny fresh bananas and papaya was appreciated. The water was great, no problems. Beautiful yard. Did feel some tremors during the night. Although only a portion of the National Park was open, we enjoyed our hike through the lava fields. Also enjoyed visiting Imiloa planetarium and Botanical Gardens in Hilo. This is a good location for visiting Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park. Adam was a great host.
Volcano is such a unique experience!
First of all, we planned this trip months ago with no knowledge that mother nature would release its fury on the residents of the Big Island. We had some hesitation on keeping our plans for this stop on our trip but decided to chance it with the hopes of seeing lava and volcanic activity. (We saw the plume coming from the crater at the park constantly, but no lava) Adam was very attentive and understanding of our concerns and answered all questions with speed and kindness. Volcano is such an amazing little town. We all loved our stay there. We were sad that the park was closed but found way to keep ourselves entertained anyway. The golf course in the park area was still open when we went. The restaurants around town were all amazing! Some of the best food on the trip. (Oahu, Maui, Kona, and Volcano) The house was tucked away in a little rain forest... it is the cutest thing. You can barely see any neighbors around. Total privacy. The vegetation in the area is exotic and different then anywhere else we saw on the on the island! The beds were comfortable and overall the house was clean and cozy. The kitchen is large and there is room for everyone! We really enjoyed our stay in Volcano!
