Overview

About the property

5 Bedrooms, 3 Full Bathrooms, 1 Half Bathroom, Sleeps 16

Surrounded by the White Mtns, our two waterfront homes are just steps away from Stinson Lake, one of the cleanest, most private lakes in the Lakes Region. This beautiful 4 acre property with 300 feet of private lakefront, offers views of the lake and mountains on all sides. Perfect for multi-family vacationing. Laze, in or out of the sun on the 20' stationary dock, swim out to the private floating dock, play ping-pong or pool in the recreation room set between the two homes. Take one of the two canoes, two kayaks or row boat out on the lake, play a game of volleyball, horseshoes, croquet or bocce, or just relax with a cup of coffee or glass of wine on the flagstone lakeside patio, looking out at the beauty of Stinson Lake. At night, enjoy spectacular star gazing from the dock while listening to a symphony of bull frogs, crickets, owls and loons. The possibilities for creating memories in the beauty and ambiance of this quiet retreat are endless!

Description of Houses: THE MAIN HOUSE (sleeps 8) consists of a large living room with a working fireplace, eat-in kitchen, three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed with an attached bathroom. The second has a queen bed and shares a bathroom with the third bedroom, which has a bunk bed and two twin beds.

THE CARRIAGE HOUSE (sleeps 8), sharing the same spectacular lake and mountain views, also with a flagstone patio, has an open floor plan. The first floor consists of a large room with a working stone fireplace, a galley kitchen and a dining area. The first floor also has a mudroom with a washer and dryer and a half bath. The second floor has two large bedrooms and a full bathroom. One bedroom has a king size bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed, a bunk bed and a queen size futon.

THE RECREATION ROOM is a free standing structure situated between the two houses. There's a ping pong table and a small pool table, an assortment of rafts, and yard games, including a volleyball/badminton net which can easily be set up on the large open lawn area between the two houses.

Additional Amenities: Fans in both houses, window air conditioners in two BRs (although usually not necessary), microwaves, dishwashers, coffee makers, TVs, DVD players, wireless internet and numerous board games in both houses, plus a shared propane grill outside the main house and washer/dryer in the Carriage House.

BOATING...

There are two canoes, two kayaks and row boat on the property available for renters to use. There is a 20' dock that can accommodate a motorboat or sailboat. Feel free to bring your own boat which can be launched 1 mile up the road at the public boat launch next to the Stinson Lake Store. Kayaks and canoes are available to rent at the store as well.

NATURE ABOUNDS...

Stinson Lake is well stocked with excellent fishing. Several loons and a family (maybe more now) of ducks live on the lake. Herons and osprey often come in for a landing on 'the point' and throughout the years we've had the excitement of several moose sightings at daybreak. Hiking trails which are part of the White Mtn Nat'l Forest, are just up the road. Walk 1 mile to a nearby waterfall. Stinson Mtn is a 1.5 mile walk away (2.5 mile hike up the mountain) with great views.

- Town of Plymouth is a quaint college town with lots to offer including many shops and restaurants, summer music and arts festivals and a performance center featuring national artists.

- The Polar Caves park and petting zoo is nearby in Plymouth.

- Multiple shopping opportunities in the area include super markets, Walmart, CVS, bookstores, gift shops and antiques. The Tilton Outlets are 1/2 hour away.

- Two 18-hole golf courses and an Executive Par 3 course are within a half hour drive

Of course it's nicest in perfect sunny weather, but rain or shine it's a great place to be, with plenty to do. Home back again next year!!

PEACEFUL AND RELAXING

  • 5 of 5

Our family of children and grandchildren all enjoyed our vacation week in these beautiful homes on the shore of this quiet, peaceful, serene lake. We've never had a rental property with as much flat land to enjoy volleyball and other lawn games as well as a separate building with pool and ping pong. Swimming, fishing, boating, and floating on the rafts were enjoyed by young and old. Reading and relaxing on the covered dock and the patios were enjoyed by the grandparents. Suppers cooked on the grill and eaten on the patio were a treat enjoyed by all!! The houses were immaculately clean and the kitchens well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Another memorable family vacation was had by all.

Thank you Debbie and Jay for sharing your lovely, peaceful, serene oasis...Bob & Jean G

Magical family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Magical is a great way to describe our week at Stinson Lake! We enjoyed every detail of the property, from the perfect lake with an amazing dock to the comfortable, welcoming, and very well-equipped houses. We soaked up the sun, spent many hours each day in and on the water, laughed, chatted, hiked, cooked, and slept like babies all week long. I did not wear shoes for 5 days! It was truly our best vacation ever with the whole family. We clearly over-packed as we brought extra fans, beach chairs, games for the kids and beach/water toys. This was all unnecessary as the rental property has plenty of these items so we didn't need any of them. The houses had plenty of fans and two air conditioners for the two warm nights, but otherwise the breeze from the lake cools the property down perfectly. The yard and cleaning crew do a fantastic job as everything was clean, mowed, and well stocked. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, it is truly a treasure. We are already planning our vacation week for next year.

Beautiful Stinson Lake!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at Stinson Lake, and we had another Great week! It is such a beautiful place. The weather was gorgeous and the lake was just so refreshing. The canoes, kayaks and rowboat were all used to cruise around the lake and fish. We love to sit on the dock and read and relax. Both houses were very clean and well stocked with any cooking utensils we needed. We really enjoyed the grills and used them almost every night.

Thankyou Debbie and Jay for a beautiful place to stay. We will be back next year!!

A Beautiful and Peaceful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

After many years of vacationing on Cape Cod, we decide it was time for a change, and we are very glad we did! Every year my whole family, all 16 of us, get together for a week. And we were very lucky to find this wonderful place on Stinson Lake. From the start, Debbie and Jay were right there for us. Very helpful and accommodating. Always ready to answer our questions. The property is just outstanding for our group! Our ages range from 6 months to 60+ and we all had plenty of room to either play (or nap). The game house is perfect for the late night kids to play pool or pingpong! And of course, the lake is just so beautiful as is the view of the surrounding mountains! I spent a lot of time, sitting on the dock, trying to read, but found it difficult with all the beautiful scenery in front of me. Both of the houses are very clean, well maintained and fully equipped, and we ended up cooking there every night, usually grilling on the patio. We did a day trip to the Polar Caves and a day hike! Lots of fun! We really enjoyed the canoes and rowboat and did a bit of fishing!

Needless to say, we will not be heading down to the craziness of the Cape anymore. We have found our new Favorite Vacation Spot!! Thank you Debbie and Jay!
