Un petit commentaire en français ?

  • 5 of 5

Peace & Tranquility

If you are a writer trying to finish your novel, an artist wanting to sketch Italian village life of a past era, or just looking for a tranquil place to spend some time relaxing and reading, then this is the place for you. My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Pietrapaola. The apartment is quaint and has all the right touches. The people are kind and generous (I am biased because this is my grandfather's hometown) and the town itself is charming and interesting. Just keep in mind that there are few reliable services here (no restaurants) and the bus schedule is somewhat erratic. So make sure you have a car so you can head down to the marina when necessary.

Also, dealing with owners Peter and Rhonda was a pleasure and all the transactions and communications went smoothly.

Winter holiday in Pietrapaola

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks in this prettily renovated house midway through Pietrapaola a quaint old village located between two big cavernous rocks. The house, particularly the kitchen is well provided with everything (even with oven) and very tidy just as we had all support we needed from the helpful people taking care of the house. We were also really excited about the pleasant people of Pietrapaola all receiving us cordially, we had a nice time sitting on the village square with bonfire etc. Even in winter we had pleasant weather conditions, especially for hiking in the mountains, olivary and orange plantations, canyons and forests nearby Pietrapaola.

Una casa deliziosa in un paesino magico

  • 5 of 5

Ci siamo trovati molto bene.

Pietrapaola is a very special little town, well kept by the inhabitants and a great location. It 'a good base for trips to the sea and the Sila. You need have a car. The house is very nice, newly renovated and well refined. There is anything you need (including washing machine, vacuum cleaner and various equipment for the kitchen). We enjoyed it very much.

The accomodation is modern and comfortable for the astute holiday maker without being cluttered. The house is secure with a key lockable front security grill. All windows have lockable double glazed panels and shutters. You are constantly reminded of the history of the location by the structure of the house and the surrounding buildings of the village. Towering over the village is a spectacular rock outcrop that defines Pietrapaola. The village is friendly, quiet and tranquil. You can set your own pace and avoid the crowds of the major tourist areas. You can travel through the ancient countryside enjoying the vistas once inhabited by the Greeks and visit the ruins of the defensive wall of Hanibal nearby that once stretched across the countryside in ancient times. The farmland produces fresh produce to cook, or the local restaurants will satisfy your appetite. For your little luxuries a supermarket is near the beach only 20 minutes drive. Pietrapaola has something for everyone.
