Our crew: me, wife, four kids, wife's parents. Plenty of room for all of us. Everyone loved the apartment. Great kitchen for cooking and thus saving a couple euros versus eating out every meal. Terrific location. Easy walk to multiple metro stations. We used busses too, super easy. Many, many great places to eat nearby. Lots of grocery stores in the area too. We loved that we weren't surrounded by tourists whenever we stepped outside. Police station in the area. We felt very safe, even after dark. Nathalie and her daughter were wonderful. Friendly and so very helpful with quick responses to every email-before, during, and after our trip. Would absolutely stay here again.
I stayed in Nathalie's beautiful apartment with my family -- 7 adults in total -- and we all loved it. It's beautiful, very open, with great views and light. I thought it was bigger than the photos made it look. The neighborhood is perfect -- it has plenty of great restaurants and shopping nearby without being touristy.
Nathalie was a great host. She communicated clearly and showed us around the apartment herself, gave us excellent restaurant recommendations, and was overall just very friendly and helpful. We loved staying here and would do it again!
Both the flat and Nathalie were wonderful. Our group of six adults had plenty of space, and could not be more pleased with the experience. The stove alone is worth a visit! Convenient to three different metro stops, with plenty of dining and shopping nearby, this is definitely an ideal place to relax and enjoy Paris. Catching one of the rare Parisian thunderstorms from the 5th floor balcony was an added bonus. I hope to make it back soon, and if so I would definitely love to stay again! I've already recommended this place to several other groups of friends.
In addition to being the consummate host, Nathalie was amazingly quick to respond to email. Even more impressive considering there was often a nine hour time difference between us.
This place is everything you are looking for.
Our family of six had a lovely stay in this apartment. Our children aged 6, 4 and 2 loved their room and slept very well in the beds. The adults slept well too. The beds are comfortable and the floor fans in each room were great for white noise. There is an awesome modern walk-in closet. The large dining room table was perfect for our family meals and for playing board games. My son loved playing the beautiful antique piano. The kitchen is well-appointed and just adorable. The apartment is on the top floor of the building (essentially 6th floor), so you see rooftops all around from the windows. The neighborhood is perfect. Quiet, tree-lined streets filled with cute shops and trendy cafes. The two closest metro stops are both short walks away. The supermarket is directly downstairs, which was very, very convenient. We loved this place so much that the frozen-over freezer and the teeny tiny shower in no way detract from us giving this apartment a five star rating. The multiple 'pros' significantly outweigh these two very minor 'cons'. We would pick this place first to stay again when we return to Paris.
The apartment was ideal. Light and airy with plenty of space for the family and convenient to a supermarket and the metro. We loved the view of the rooftops of Paris.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Natalie's flat. It was the top two floors of the building and felt much more like a home than a rental. All of the amenities were in perfect order and she and her daughter were very helpful during our stay. It was wonderful to stay in such a beautiful space with a grand kitchen to cook in. So many rentals tend to have kitchens that are barely serviceable, but this was very large, well-equipped, and well-stocked. There were tons of guidebooks and magazines in many languages which we found helpful. The space was very close to 2 different Metro lines within a 5 minute walk each. We really felt like we were staying in a family home and this made us all feel very relaxed and helped us really enjoy our time. I would not hesitate to rent this property again on our next visit to Paris. Thank you Natalie!
The trendy Bastille area is well known for its “chic-bohemian” style, full of outdoors cafés, restaurants and clubs. You will also find traditional shops : cheese shops, butchers, chocolatiers, charcutiers. Within 5 minutes walk is the famous Rue de Lappe, with its many ethnic restaurants and pubs, famous since the bal musette or danceballs of the 1930s “gai Paris” frequented between the wars by Edith Piaf, Jean Gabin and Rita Hayworth. A few streets away, you will also enjoy the famous Food market “Marché d’Aligre”, both outdoor and indoor. It opens every morning except on Mondays and offers great food at amazing prices. Customers can find fresh fruit, fish, meat, cheese and bread along with clothing and typical flea market items. Parisians lining up around the best fruits and vegetable stalls meet friends, also talk to people they don’t know and joke with the stall holders.
In the vicinity, you may also enjoy movie theaters displaying films in English.
Other Activities: Once you are in Paris, offer you a lovely day in stunning VERSAILLES. Visit the CHATEAU, the TRIANON, the beautiful gardens. You will reach the royal city of Louis XIV within 50 mn, using an RER ride.
