Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Chaillot - Champs Elysées/Eiffel Tower

Best area in Paris quiet 2 bedrooms/2 baths walk to Champs Elysées, sleeps 4/5

Walking distance to the Champs-Elysées 5 minutes & Eiffel Tower. Very safe & chic neighbourhood with prestigious shops on avenue Victor Hugo. The apartment offers all modern facilities in a superb location where chic Parisians prefer to live.

The building dates back 1888 and has be refurbished and is very well maintain.

The apartment is a duplex (1075sq/ft, 100 m2) set on a courtyard, very quiet, in a lovely small building of 3 stories only, looks like a house. 1 neighbour lives above my apartment. The apartment was renovated in 2011.

The flat consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms sleeps 4/5 max.The 2 bedrooms are located on the first floor. One bathroom has ensuite access to one bedroom. An independant toilet is located in the hall so both bedrooms have access to the toilets. The toilets are quite small. The second bathroom is on the ground floor. There are two main entrances to each floor of the apartment, which makes it easy access to carry the luggage to the first floor and to go in and out of the apartment. Very convenient if you are two couples sharing this apartment, each couple has its own privacy. So there are two private entrances to the apartment. The small spiral staircase in the apartment is dangerous for young children and not suitable for elderly or large people.

Fully equipped and modern kitchen in open skylight veranda which makes it very bright. Very nice and large kitchen fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, freezer, coffee machine, full oven, microwave, hair dryer, linens and towels provided etc.

Technology : 2 Flat screen TVs, Cable TV with CNN, BBC and 6 other English channels and all channels can be listened to in English with the remote control; Very fast fiberoptic internet. Free international calls to US and Canada, free calls also to UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, Brazil.

Location:

It is located just a five minute walk to the Arc of Triumph, the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower. The metro Boissière and Victor Hugo, Bus 22,52,30,82 or 63 will take you to the Opera, the Louvre, Montmartre, Latin Quarter Saint-Germain des Près and to many tourist attractions in less than 15 minutes. You will be able to discover Paris very easily from this location.

The food store Franprix is located one minute walk from the apartment, so the bakery, butcher and drugstore and many restaurants in the same street and off on avenue Kléber.

Please note : No early departure before 7:00 am, early arrivals no problem!

I have also a very nice cottage in Normandy between Honfleur and Deauville, that can be rented for four nights minimum from April to September.

This apartment can be rented for several weeks or long term.

About Cynthia Lecerf

Hello I am Cynthia. I live in Paris. My daughter lives in London, Uk and my son after studying in California, is now working in Barcelona. I love meeting new travelers and give them the best tips to live as real Parisians during their vacation. I know the city really well as I have lived here all my life and I can provide you lots of information on the city. When I travel I much prefer the comfort of staying in an apartment as opposed to staying in a hotel. I can help you with whatever you need.

Cynthia Lecerf purchased this apartment in 1990

Why Cynthia Lecerf chose 16th Passy/Trocadero

This property is located in a exclusive neighborhood, near Paris most visited monument the Eiffel Tower and at the same time in a quiet building off the street on a courtyard. There are plenty of restaurants in the street , a grocery store, a bakery, ad drugstore, a butcher less than 1 minute walk

What makes this apartment unique

Very well located in a very chic and safe neighborhood. Best location in Paris. Easy walking distance to Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysées and close to two different subway station lines Victor Hugo and Boissiere ( both are 5 minutes walk). Very nice restaurants on rue Lauriston ans also on avenue Kleber

Perfect for our family of 4

  • 5 of 5

We loved this apartment. It was as advertised in the photos, with everything necessary for a pleasant stay. Clean, spacious, fantastic location, and very well equipped. The owners were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. Easy walking distance to Champs Elysees as well as close to a couple of different metro lines. We were 2 adults and 2 teenage children, and would recommend this apartment for a wonderful stay in Paris.

Exactly like the pictures - great place!!

  • 4 of 5

Cynthia was a great host - she even called 'our taxi driver' for us, since everyone was leaving early on different days! She also offered to let me ship the ParisPass to her home, so we saved a lot of money on shipping and it was waiting for us when we arrived. The location is superb for walking and using the metro - we spent a week in the flat and had a fabulous time. There's a decent market down the street where we got breakfast foods, fruit, snacks etc.; a fantastic patisserie near the market for bread and pain au chocolat; and a great restaurant across the street for the night you don't want to go far. The flat is a little funky, but we knew that from the pictures (e.g. the spiral staircase). There's a toilet on the same floor as the bedrooms, so no one has to use the spiral staircase at night. It was great to have a washer/dryer, especially since this was the second week of travel for the other couple and the third week of travel for us. There was some construction going on while we were there - it didn't wake us, and we were gone during the day, so it was only a minor inconvenience. We had a wonderful week in Paris and Cynthia is an excellent host.

Owner's Response: Dear Leslie, Thank you for kind words and the time you took to share them. It is great to hear that you have enjoyed your stay at the apartment. I am always happy when guests enjoy the apartment, I try to be as accurate as possible in the pictures and the description. It is true that the bread, the croissant and the pains au chocolat à la boulangerie are really delicious ! Please excuse for the inconvenience of the work on the neighbour's roof (which is now over) and I will be happy to host you on your next trip to Paris.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

  • 3 of 5

The good: Location is perfect, the apartment is very well situated, close to the Metro, a variety of restaurants, patisseries, pharmacies, and a supermarket. A short walk to the Arch de Triumph and the Champs Elysees. The kitchen is a good size and has a full size refrigerator (we only had breakfast in the apartment) The washer and dryer are small, but do the job, if needed. The dryer has a water container at the bottom, which has to be emptied after each cycle. The bad: the whole layout of the place is weird. We shared the apartment with another couple and since one of the bathrooms is located downstairs, they had to come down a very narrow and wobbly spiral staircase to either take a shower or use the toilet, not very convenient. There is an ensuite in one of the bedrooms upstairs, but it only has a shower and a sink, to use the toilet you have to come out of the bedroom to an adjacent room across, which has the narrowest toilet room I've ever seen in my life (my husband, who is 6" and 210lbs, barely fit in there. Standing straight up, his shoulders touch each side of the wall). The TV has only CNN in English and once in a while Al Jazeera, all other channels in French. The place also looks tired and in much need of an upgrade in terms of dishes, utensils, and towels. The bed and pillows were very good. The Ugly: the building is old and with the wooden floors and thin walls you could hear everything, including the very noisy neighbor upstairs, who came at odd hours banging doors and walking like a herd of horses throughout the apartment, which was annoying to say the least. If your interest is in a great location in Paris then this is your place, however, if you are looking for more comfort, then try some place else, especially if you are sharing the apartment with traveling companions.

Owner's Response: Dear Shelly, It is with regret I read your recent review. First and foremost I am disappointed that you were not fully satisfied as it is my priority to offer my guests very good service as they enjoy their stay in Paris at all times. I am sorry the aparment didn’t meet your expectations. 1/ The building was build in 1888 during the Haussmannian period, like most Paris building . By law buiding facades must be cleaned every 15 years, my building facade has been done 3 years ago. The entrance of the buiding is covered with marble from top to bottom. The building where you stayed was on the courtyard and has been repainted two years ago. There is nothing ugly about this buidling except if you don’t like Hausmannian art. 2/ The apartment is a duplex with a small spiral staircase. Before booking the apartment you must certainly have read in the message I sent future guests and also written on the website that this apartment is not suitable for young children, elderly people or large people. 3/ The utilities : The washing machine is 5KG. It is quite unsual to have bigger washers in France. The dryer needs to be emptied after 4/5 cycles and not after each cycle. By law in Paris you can’t have the water going outside from a pipe, you need to empty manually. In French apartments toilets are most of the time separated from the bathroom for privacy. On the first floor the toilets give in the hallway for easy access to both bedrooms. The toilets are normal French standard. I am sorry your husband couldn’t fit in. It is also typical of French apartment to have wood parquet ( rather than carpet) and I am sorry the lady upstairs bothered you. There is ultra fast fiber optic WIFI, 160 TV channels: BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, Sky News, CNBG and Aljazeera, plus all the channels can be in English with the remote. There is also free calls on land lines and mobiles to the US. The dishes are simple white porcelain and cutlery is inox, I am afraid no silverware. Towels are pure white 500g bio cotton and are replaced very regularly. I feel you review is unfair based on the 27 five star reviews received on this website and the 35 five star reviews on another rental website. I give the very best value for money and service to my guests . It is a typical two bedroom Parisian apartment, nothing fancy. Next time I suggest you stay next door at the Pensinsula and I am certain it would meet your expectations

We had a wonderful stay! The location was excellent and the flat was comfortable and spacious.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Cynthia's flat. The location was excellent -- a short walk to the metro, a small grocery store, many cafes, and a patisserie. The flat was perfect for the three of us, very comfortable and plenty of space. Cynthia and her husband are lovely people and were so helpful. I would book it again without hesitation.
