Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Greece - AEOLUS and STAVLO (2 Units)

A beautiful traditionally built stone house, annexe and private pool

Aeolus and Stavlo comprise one property nestled on the hillside in the beautiful village of Korithi overlooking the Ionian Sea. This extensive property, has access via control panel secure electronic gates opening into a hard standing purpose built car park capable of taking 6 or more cars. The property itself comprises of the main house, large open plan kitchen, dining and comfortable lounge, with a wood burner for the cooler months. The internal areas are to a high specification as can be seen by the photographs. There is a Wet room and also having a spacious double bedroom and a mezzanine with a single bed. Stavlo, the adjacent family room/studio to Aeolus has a double and two single beds. The property is set amongst olive and cypress trees with impressive views across the sea and mountains. If you are looking for privacy and tranquility then this is the villa for you. The main bedroom, perfect for the honey moon couple has french windows leading onto the verandah overlooking the sea, local bays and mountains. The pool is set in established gardens with palm trees, the fragrance of jasmine and oleander fill the air. Just simply the most beautiful place to be....

Stavlo is a self contained studio with it's own kitchen and wet room. This is very popular with a second family and teenagers wanting their own space.

A feature of this property is it's extensive terraces with a wide range of seating areas to accommodate extensive outside al freso dining. There is also an outside kitchen /eating area, boasting a BBQ, rotisserie and outside oven. Perfect for shade in the heat of the day and romantic candle lit dinners under the stars. All meals are normally taken outside during the summer months either by the barbecue area or on the terrace tables.

The villa posses a charm all of it's own, has all mod cons but keeps it's great greek feel!

St Nikolas Port is approximately 4 min away by car and offers a lovely beach with free sunbeds and excellent tavernas. Long Beach is a large beach approximately 15 min away again with good tavernas. And on the coast road (the road you will journey on from the airport to the Villa) there are a number of other accessible beaches. There are also many isolated coves which can be accessed by boat, boat hire also being available locally. The sea is perfectly clean and most of the beaches are stony rather than sandy in the north of the island (covered with a light shale). There are a large number of tavernas available within 10 to 20 min of the Villa, and especially across the mountain range to Volimes and Anovolimes.

PELIGONI Club, is an exclusive sailing club located approximately 5 min away from the villa. The club offers a wide range of sailing activities, waterskiing, tennis, table tennis and superb dining. Check out party night on Wednesdays and Saturdays for fun and frolics!

For those searching for a lively night life on the island this can be found at Alikes, Alkanas and further away down south at Lagana (famous for the Loggerhead Turtles). There is something for everyone.

Boats can be hired locally to visit the remote beaches, caves and beachside tavernas, you can also take escorted trips to the Blue Caves, famous Shipwreck Cove and ancient monasteries. There are daily ferries from the nearby port that go to Kefalonia (Captain Correlli's Island) and ferries to the Peloponnese on the mainland and other islands that go from the main Zakynthos town port.

Zakynthos town is approximately 30 minutes by car and is a thriving cosmopolitan town, rich with history and beautiful architecture. It has a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants and is well worth a visit. The port for mainland Greece (about 1 hour away by ferry) is situated adjacent to the town. The town has an outside theatre and busy nightlife.

The villa is set on a hillside in the beautiful village of Korithi. St Nikolas port, which has 2 medium-sized supermarkets is only 4 min away by car. If it is each Friday night in the port there is a great Greek evening at the L'Astoria Taverna on the beach with live music and dancing. On Tuesday evening's Nobelos a lovely Taverna by the sea holds a fine dining and live music evening under the pine trees.

The village of Volimes, is well worth a visit and attracts tourists visiting the locally made beautiful crafts. the village of Katastari is some 30 min from the Villa where there are a number of larger supermarkets selling a larger range of products. The island itself is approximately 25 miles long by 3 miles wide and is covered with a central mountainous spine, olive groves, cypress trees and orange and lemon orchards. The views and around the island and in particular the north of stunning and well worth exploring.

Aeolus is our much loved summer home. We have had the villa for approximately 12 years and spend a lot of our time out there in the summer, letting it out only when we come back to the UK. This means that it is more homely and comfortable than properties that are purely furnished for the letting market and an additional income.

About SHARON WEBSTER

My late husband and I bought the land with the view to having a small quiet village location for our second (holiday) home. The original house was taken down and many of the original materials were used to build the new house, Aeolus. Stavlo is a renovated stable and has all it's original charm. We did not want to let such a beautiful place stay empty when we could not be there, so sharing it with like minded people led us to the holiday rental of the villa.

SHARON WEBSTER purchased this villa in 2001

Why SHARON WEBSTER chose Greece

The northern part of the Island is so special. The sea, mountains and the pretty little port of Aghious Nikolas, as well as the Peligoni sailing and water sports Club so close were key reasons for this location. The local greek people are so friendly and helpful and there is always the feeling of being safe.

What makes this villa unique

The unique features of the Villa are the stunning views of both the sea and the mountains, the privacy and the amazing gardens and pool. There are many terraces on different levels and each one so different you couldn't possibly get bored! There is aways somewhere to sit in the sun and shade. Another unique feature is the family room, Stavlo, which can comfortably sleep 4, but is great for adults with small children or for teenagers wanting their own pad, but still easily supervised by adults.

Aeolus a gentle breeze that takes your breath away

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a nice secluded villa away from the tourist traps with access to the coast and good BBQ facilities. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The first thing you notice is you don't have a parking space, you have a car park, there are extensive gardens with many places to sit in private. The outside kitchen with a BBQ you can spit-roast a dinosaur on and a 3 door fridge close to a generous size pool is delightful.

All facilities are well proportioned and clean, the view from the bedroom balcony is stunning.

Both Nikos and Reni were lovely people and very helpful.

If you want a day on a pleasant beach with choice of tavernas then a drive down the mountains into Alikes will not disappoint.

No complaints, I would thoroughly recommend Aeolus for your luxury holiday

Beautiful Villa!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvellous 10 days at Aeolus / Stalevo in August. The villa is very clean and has a homely feel to it, not the sterility often seen in rental villas. The view over the coast (particularly with a glass of wine in hand) from the balcony off main bedroom is stunning! The pool is spotlessly clean and ideal for children of all ages. Our children (3 of the 4 are teenagers) absolutely loved the independence of having Stavelo to themselves. Also, the baker comes to the bottom of the road at 8am on weekdays - wow, the doughnuts are gorgeous!

Regarding things to do - a boat trip to Shipwreck is a must. We hired our own 6 berth boat from Wayne at http://www.valaiswatersports.gr/en-boathire.php Much cheaper than competitors and very efficient service. Also, a drive out to Shipwreck view ( achieving the 'brochure' view) at sunset is breathtaking - our children were amazed.

Local food is generally good and fairly cheap - we found Niko's the best by far, as the menu was also geared up to suit to teenagers. Also, I'd recommend a visit to the Art Cafe, a local bar with a bohemian feel to it.

One thing parents with teenagers may want to note - many local restaurants/bars advertise themselves as an 'internet hotspot'. On the whole, they aren't....the signal/speed is appalling. Only a minor gripe, but anyone with teenagers will know where I'm coming from......

In a nutshell, I think anyone who can't enjoy the facilities on offer and relax amongst the gorgeous gardens at Aeolus, perhaps whilst reading in the hammock, would find it difficult to wind-down anywhere on the planet!

Fabulous villa and total luxury.

  • 5 of 5

If you want to feel like a celebrity like I did when I stayed here, look no further, but be warned you will find it very hard to leave. Taking in all the beauty of the villa garden and surrounding views. The lovely olive trees that all have their own character, the whole villa has the traditional Greek feel to it, situated in a quiet village is perfect and unique.

My family and I had a fab time, there is everything you need and more. The pool is a good size and very clean. If you want to chill out in the evening there is a very comfy sofa plenty of DVDs to chose from or games in the cupboards, i.e. polka scrabble, cards etc.

The views you have of the sea around this area of North Zante are breathtaking and the colours of the sea and coves is beautiful.

Recommend shipwreck cove and blue caves, boat trips near by. Ag Nik Port is lovely in the evening and not far, plus there is a supermarket there which is handy.

Also recommend water village waterpark for a fab day out with the children and is not overcrowded.

Thank you so much Sharon for letting us stay at your second home here in Zante a truely special place indeed and would love to come back in the near future.

A secluded oasis

  • 5 of 5

Our stay did not get off to a great start - my husband took the wrong turning as he was busy watching the road rather than following instructions and we ended up taking the scenic (and more hair-raising) route.

We were however, not disappointed when we got to the villa. The property was clean and well-maintained. Our 11 year old daughter and her friend jumped in the pool pretty much straight away whilst we unpacked. We loved the outside space but unfortunately, was unable to make use of the barbecue area as the power supply kept cutting out, which was a bit of a shame. The area is beautiful and we stumbled on a cove near Volimes that was heavenly. The location is perfect for exploring the Blue Caves and the shipwreck bay.

Our week there was conducive to some much needed R&R. The area was so quiet and peaceful; would love to return!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for such a lovely review. I am sorry about the problem with the electricity in the BBQ, my house manager and electrician were puzzled as to what was causing the problem, but all seems to be sorted now. I apologise for any inconvenience caused to your party, and hope it did not spoil your stay. Kind regards, Sharon Webster. Villa Owner.

heaven of peace

  • 5 of 5

We really spent a wonderful stay in this house. For us it was just like a dream, the house is a heaven of peace with surrounded flowered and shaded terraces, where we enjoyed a morning breakfast or a barbecue dinner.

The pool was also very pleasant with birds drinking its water, our 3 years old son really enjoyed it and had a really great time with the toys available their.

In the top floor we also enjoyed the large veranda and the beautiful sea view.

We really had great time in this house, if your are looking for a charming Greek house, calm with a fabulous garden this house is just perfect.
