When our guests arrive, they know they've found a gem, a private little piece of heaven. Instantly, they never forget this place.

Imagine looking out through these windows, to this view...from bed! Imagine the warmth of knotty pine, antique furniture, and artistic touches in every corner. And that's just the house. Now imagine grounds that sweep with gardened privacy. A shore with your own big deck, dock...and canoe. And that's just the grounds. Now imagine hosts with decades of experience in the hospitality business, who understand service and respect.

We are Madi and Randy Adams. We offer a great 'things to do list', but don't forget to schedule time to simply unwind in this peace of paradise. Soothe in the hot tub, cruise the lake in our canoe, and relax in the hammock from one of the most private and secluded settings on the lake.

In summary: Our location is perfect for exploring the Park (and all the other awesome things around here). Checking in is easy as pie (no need to pick up a key). Access to the highway is quick and easy (most houses on the lake are a pain). The home and grounds are simply smashing (lots of art and landscaping). The north-shore views will knock your socks off (not the case from the other shores). You get our red-letter attention (most places are cattle operations). You get privacy (most places on the lake are sandwiched in). You get rock solid memories (and isn't that what really matters!).

About Randy Adams

My wife and I have decades in the hospitality business, with an undergraduate degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management, and management experience at several well known bed and breakfasts on the California Mendocino coast. As well, we are both successful, professional artists and collectors, which shows throughout the house. As your hosts, we are serious about assuring that you will be pinching yourself during your stay. We live near by, which allows attention to your needs throughout your stay, while respecting your privacy. It is, simply, our goal to help make your stay as memorable as possible.

Why Randy Adams chose Olympic Peninsula

After getting to know Lake Sutherland, we waited for this property to come on the market. It's rather special. Not just the house, but the setting. Because it's on the north shore, the view out over the lake includes the massive soaring boundary ridges of the Olympics. The house, the setting, and the view. Just plain wow.

What makes this house unique

This place can't be beat for: 1) Exploring the Olympic National Park. The proximity is fantastic. Some of the best hikes are nearby. Spectacular waterfalls and old growth virgin forests dripping with moss and ferns (Olympic National Park holds the worlds largest temperate rain forest). 2) Enjoying an incredible view right outside your window. Our 'wall of windows' looks out over a jaw-dropping vista of water and mountain scape. 3) Our attention to detail, and to bending over backwards to accommodate you. Our guest book gushes with thanks and praise. 4) All the other things to do...day trip to Victoria BC from a ferry right out of Port Angeles, river rafting the famous Elwha, fishing off the dock, or chartering out of Neah Bay...it goes on and on! We know what there is to do, and are happy to help you plan your moments.

I have never seen so many stars as I have here above the emerald lake. I love the mountains which rise from the water. Attention to detail, inside and out, makes this a great house. Everything is ready to go. This is the most relaxed I have been in years and I dread returning to the rush of Seattle.

Waterfront deck and dock with adirondack chairs, seating for four with patio table and umbrella, recliners, large flowering pots in many areas, grounds landscaped with subtle outdoor art. The house has expensive original art, antiques, and special touches throughout. It is common for guests to comment on the artistic way the house is decorated. Everywhere you turn, there is a special artistic touch. Great effort has gone into making the property unique in this way. In many ways, the house itself is a work of art. Add the incredible natural surroundings of the spring feed lake and soaring ridges that form the northern boundary of the Olympic National Park, and the entire property is indeed jaw dropping.

Great lake house and great views

No regrets here...besides not having a full day to just relax at the house. Everything about the house was great and the views were nice and nearly 100% private from neighbors (though we never actually saw them). Slept like a baby after adventuring all day. Enjoyed star gazing on the dock at night and of course soaking in the tub after the day of driving and hiking. During our stay (mid Sept) lake was pretty empty so very quiet besides the occasional boat. Was nice to be greeted by a family of deer upon our arrival. Thanks for sharing your place with us!!

Beautiful peaceful house on the lake

We loved this charming lake house from the moment we arrived. The lake is beautiful and the multiple decks and dock encourage the outside use of the house. There is a very nice canoe for use by the guests. Randy was the perfect host, available for any questions and very easy to deal with and communicative. He had great suggestions about what to do in the area and in the park. The house is nicely situated to get to the southern beaches, hurricane ridge and the rainforest. The personal touches and artwork both inside and outside the house really made the house homey. This was one of the nicest homeaway properties we have stayed in. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need and very good quality. The wifi was good. The hot tub was very clean and in a perfect location for viewing the lake. Please note that 4wd or AWD is a necessity to get into and out of the driveway down to the house. There is an alternative parking place up the driveway but it is nice to be able to unload groceries etc. right at the house. We would absolutely return.

PERFECT GETAWAY

ThIs is beautifully decorated cottage. It has a lovely lake view with mountains rising up. Randy, the owner, is more than helpful. He suggested hikes, restaurants, and provided everything we needed including a ride up and down the hill. We had a reunion with our son and his wife and enjoyed hiking in the Olympic National Park so much. It was a wonderful time. Thanks so much Randy

Amazing property and the million dollar views of the lake

We had been in a lot of different vacation homes with different views. Miami south beach penthouses ,smoky mountains cabins and so on,but this is the best Lake House we ever been. The views are amazing,heck the views from back deck and dock area are so amazing that you can forget about driving to peninsula if you only have few days to spend.

DONT GO DOWN THE DRYWAY WITH OUT AWD/4WD!!trust me ,I learned it the hard way but we will keep it between me and the owner Randy(thanks again Randy!).don't try going down all the way to the house if you don't have 4x4/awd there is nice parking area right half way up the hill just steps away from front door.

House was super clean and vary well stocked with everything you can possibly need. There was even fishing rods! There is gas station with little convenience store literally maybe 2 minute drive from cabin. Do NOT expect high end restaurants or restaurants(beside the one at the lodge) in all Olympic park area,to be honest there wasn't any after you leave Port Angeles down town area,so my advise would be to stock up on groceries from local stores(there were few in area about an hour away).

I think everyone should have a chance to stay in this cabin the views are a million dollar views just make sure you spend enough time on the property. p.s. don't forget AWD if you want to park right next to front door or if not use the parking spot which is big enough for 2 cars just 50ft up the hill.

A magical lakeside retreat!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Madi and Randy's house during our honeymoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nothing beats waking up to the views of Lake Sutherland and the surrounding mountains. Randy was very accommodating, and the house was well-equipped. I'm sure we'll be back -- next time we're bringing friends!

Serene and comfortable... a true getaway!

What a wonderful home to stay in while exploring the Olympic Peninsula. Each day we woke up to a beautiful view. And each night we soaked in the hot tub, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The lake was so uncrowded and the house was so private, we felt like we were in our own private paradise. We found everything we needed at the house...cooked great food and enjoyed dinner with a view. The bed was beyond comfortable and the decor was homey and artistic. A great home base for exploring the beauty of the area.

Outstanding location for exploring the Olympic National Park, Pacific beaches, Lake Crescent, and of course Lake Sutherland. There isn't another property like ours. When you arrive, and take it all in, you will realize you have found a little piece of heaven... truly magical. Perhaps the most obvious attraction is the setting on the lake, and the view across to Storm King Ridge. Besides all the activities, this is the place for unwinding, deep breathing, first honeymooning, second honeymooning, serious romancing.
