Cuckoos Nest is situated in the amazing Lower Mill Estate. It is a family holiday home which overlooks the tranquile Clearwater lake. The house is designed to ensure you have an amazing holiday. Whatever you are looking for we can provide it at Cuckoos Nest. The house provides peace and relaxation, with onsite spa, nature walks, fishing and time on the water. For the more active there is tennis courts biking trails and sailing and water skiing just down the road.

Cuckoo’s Nest is a luxury four bedroom, three bathroom home, which sleeps eight adults plus two travel cots. The house is modern and is glass fronted so you can make the most of the beautiful views of the lakes.

The house has amazing double height living space and we are lucky to have fantastic views from all aspects of the house. The house has the following facilities:

Four bedrooms – two large doubles (en-suite), two twin rooms

Sleeps 8 plus 1-2 travel cots

Three bathrooms: two en-suite, one family shower room

Five minutes walk from the ArtSpa – indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools outdoor eco pool, sauna, steam room and treatments

Canoe and fish on the lake (boat hire available)

Beautiful walks on the 450-acre private nature reserve including easy access to the Thames Walk

At Cuckoos Nest we provide luxury touches and our home is child-friendly and family-friendly. We have equipped our home to the highest standard for families and groups of friends. We provide high quality Egyptian Cotton linen and high quality towels. There are books, games, magazines, DVD’s for all tastes, a high quality 40 inch TV, DVD’s, FreeSAT and a PlayStation to relax in the house.

If you need something particular in the house we are always happy to try and help. Please do give us a call or email to discuss specific requirements.

We are very well situated on the Lower Mill Estate, overlooking the beautiful Clearwater Lake with fantastic views. Our home is one of only a few houses with no passing cars so youngsters can run around without fear of cars driving past. Everything is within a short walk or cycle ride away.

You will have access to the ArtSpa, just a 5 minutes walk from the house: a luxury spa with indoor and outdoor swimming pools suitable for all ages. The spa offers fantastic treatments and is a wonderful place to unwind. This access is included within the price of your holiday.

Once outside the house you can enjoy the childrens' play areas, the many beautiful walks around the lakes, the wildlife, the boating and fishing and the spa on site. Just a short drive away you will find plenty of adventure with water skiing, bike rides, the Keynes Country Park and more. We are also ideally located to explore the Cotswold villages and attractions.

  • The bathrooms in our house are of a high standard and we put lots of towls, floor matts and soap out. There are three bathrooms, two en-suite which are off the master bedroom and the double room and one family bathroom.

  • In all our bedrooms we have high quality beding and added little touches such as candles, paintings and soft finishings to add a little extra touch of luxury and make it feel like home. Are master bedroom is on the third floos and has a king size bed, a large chest of drawers, wardrope and an en- suite bathroom consisting of a shower, WC and basin. Bedroom 2 consists of two twin beds (2 x 3’ single beds) with a built-in wardrobe. The room is lake-facing and has sliding doors opening onto the sun deck (not enclosed) equipped with two sun beds. Bedroom 3 consists of a king size bed with a chest of drawers for storage. The room has an en-suite bathroom (bath,basin and WC). The room is lake-facing and has sliding doors which open onto the sun deck (not enclosed) equipped with two sun beds. Bedroom 4 is at the front of the house, consists of two twin beds. This room is large enough for us to put a guest bed in if you have children wanting to share a room.

Cuckoos Nest is a stunningly designed, contemporary, three-storey, glass-fronted, lake-side house. The house consists of four bedrooms, three bathrooms and will sleep eight adults and two babies with ease with room for travel-cots in the two double rooms. There are two double bedrooms and and two twin bedrooms. Please ask about pets. We ask that the property is treated respectfully, but sorry, no smoking indoors. Linen, towels and utilities included. Lovely house in lovely setting

Stayed in cuckoo's nest for 4 nights. Comfotable home from home house well equipped with kitchen equipment, toys and games. Nice comfortable beds with good quality linen. The lounge had a lovely view over the lake and swans and ducks coming up to the house every day which our 9 month old grandson was delighted with. The estate is very picturesque and was nice and peaceful which was what we wanted. Great facilities the only down side was the spa only stayed open until 5pm and it would have been nice if this was open evenings after a day out. The restaurant was also only open 2 of the 3 full days we were there but maybe because we were not in high season. The activity hub was great with friendly staff and easy to hire equipment. Overall we had a lovely stay and could have stayed longer. Felt very comfortable in the house which is definitely suitable for families our dogs were also made welcome. Thanks for a lovely break we will definitely return to Lowe Mill

Wonderful location and great house to stay in

The Lower Mill Estate is lovely and tranquil with good space for kids and plenty to do on the estate and nearby. We had a wonderful time and were very lucky with the weather.

The house was wonderful although very hot and not easy to cool down - mostly due to the heatwave rather than any fault with the property. Only draw back is that there is no toilet on the floor that you spend most of your time, i.e., where kitchen/living room are, so we were continually going up and down stairs for this with our recently toilet-trained toddler! Everything else was wonderful and we appreciated the welcome pack of goodies on arrival.

Fantastic,well equipped and outstanding facilities

This was our second time staying at Cuckoo's nest, and would highly recommend it. Set in a quiet spot on the Lower Mill Estate, it is still a short walk to the Artspa, restaurant and tennis courts, as well as the paths around the lakes.

The house itself has everything you need for your stay, and was ideal for our extended family break, with plenty of space and seating for everyone. All the bedrooms are a good size so it suits any mix of people staying.

There is much to do in this beautiful part of the Country, although if you just want to relax then you don't necessarily have to leave Lower Mill.

The owners (Caroline and Nick) provide an excellent service and provide all the information you need for your stay at the house and we appreciated the welcome pack.

Therefore from our experience we would highly recommend Cuckoos Nest for any type of group.

Fantastic facilities and location

This is a great family friendly house. The property is clean and well maintained. The owners were helpful and quick to respond to questions in the lead up and during our stay. The estate is a real treat to stay on with lots of walks, activities and of course the spa!

Although there is plenty to entertain you on your door step, should you venture outside, the charm of the Cotswolds awaits. Below are listed a number of the nearby attractions which will make for a wonderful day out:

* Cirencester is an historic Roman town in the heart of the Cotswolds with attractions from a Roman Amphitheatre to the nearby Chedworth Roman Villa. The Corinium Museum in an important source of information on the local history. Cirencester has many fine examples of historic mosaics, including one which can be found near the Brewery Arts Centre in the heart of Cirencester.

* Stow-on-the-Wold is a small market town of about 2000 people set in the Cotswold Hills. It stands beside the Roman Fosse Way at its junction with six other roads, where a settlement has existed since the Iron Age. Like many of the Cotswold towns and villages, the houses were built with the very distinctive mellow Cotswold stone from local quarries.

* Cotswold Wildlife Park: lions, white rhinos

Golf: The nearest golf course is at 'Cirencester Golf Club' on the Cheltenham Road which is just north of the town and approximately 8 miles from the Lower Mill Estate. Green fees are reasonable and visitors are welcome.

A 20% deposit is required on booking (non-refundable). Payment of the deposit can be made by PayPal (3% charge for this method) or cheque. Balance payable by cheque or direct bank transfer six weeks before holiday start date. A £250 security deposit (Cashed cheque) is required at the start of the stay to cover damage or breakages.
