Our home is the ideal location house for a relaxing break with family or friends. We have ensured the house is kitted out to be a home from home with a touch of luxury. With children in mind there are lots of toys, games, books and DVD's. The adults will appreciate the high quality fixture, fittings & added touches. The location offers bike rides & walks, a wonderful spa with indoor & outdoor pools, tennis courts & lots of other outdoor facilities. The house is a contemporary self-catering holiday home providing an an opportunity to relax and unwind in a beautiful heart of the Cotswold Water Park.
We are very well situated on the Lower Mill Estate overlooking a beautiful lake with fantastic views. Our home is one of only a few houses with no passing cars so youngsters can run around without fear of cars passing.

Cuckoos Nest is luxury living in an idyllic setting. The house boasts all those things you need to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. The kitchen inspires you to create and all mod cons are available to help you. There was enough room for three cooks at one time and not a bad word was said.
The living area was spacious enough for all 8 of us to be able to relax, and when you wanted some space there was always the balcony and the patios downstairs. The accommodation is so flexible that it is suitable for large families and groups of people young and old as we were.
We spent a lot of time in the ArtSpa which relaxed you as soon as you went in the door. Lying by the pool listening to the soothing music with a good book. What more does one need.
The Cotswolds are beautiful but the estate was so lovely that I spend most of my time around there. I would definitely consider going back again with even more good books, fine wine and a cookery book.
This was our second time staying at Cuckoo's nest, and would highly recommend it. Set in a quiet spot on the Lower Mill Estate, it is still a short walk to the Artspa, restaurant and tennis courts, as well as the paths around the lakes.
The house itself has everything you need for your stay, and was ideal for our extended family break, with plenty of space and seating for everyone. All the bedrooms are a good size so it suits any mix of people staying.
There is much to do in this beautiful part of the Country, although if you just want to relax then you don't necessarily have to leave Lower Mill.
The owners (Caroline and Nick) provide an excellent service and provide all the information you need for your stay at the house and we appreciated the welcome pack.
Therefore from our experience we would highly recommend Cuckoos Nest for any type of group.
This is a great family friendly house. The property is clean and well maintained. The owners were helpful and quick to respond to questions in the lead up and during our stay. The estate is a real treat to stay on with lots of walks, activities and of course the spa!
We had a great extended family break at the Cuckoos Nest - it was the perfect base to explore the Cotswolds and visit relatives in Wiltshire. If anything the photos and descriptions do not do it justice - gorgeous, spacious home with plenty room for grandparents, parents and 3 boys (4,1,1). Very well kitted out, even lots of games and toys for the boys to play with. Welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Property was in great condition and so cosy on our arrival that we had to turn the heating down! Great service and information from Caroline & Nick, would recommend without hesitation to family groups as well as groups of couples and friends. On-site there were plenty of lovely walks from the front door, restaurant was great, the highlight though was the spa with its open air pool (heated!) - great for a morning swim to set you up for the day.
Stayed for 5 days with 93 year old mum, girlfriend and cat! Lovely property very well equipped, spacious and overlooking lake with private balcony. Highly recommended - very efficient and friendly booking arrangements. Would return in an instant!
This was our fourth time back to this fantastic property. From the moment we drive through the gates of the Lower Mill Estate we knew we were on holiday. The whole atmosphere around the estate is so relaxed and peaceful (even with our 3 kids!) The house is perfect for us with a master bedroom on the ground floor with the 2 other bedrooms for the kids. My sister in law and her husband then took the other master bedroom in the second floor. The first floor living space is very well laid out with a fully equipped kitchen, free view TV, toys/games etc to use during the stay. The owners always ensure the house is stocked with toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid etc which is considerate. The view from the lounge is stunning.
The real treat is the Spa which was really quiet whilst we were there giving us the pool to ourselves! The sun even stayed out long enough for us to enjoy the outdoor heated pool but the Eco pool remained as freezing cold as always!
Another great break had by all. No doubt we will be back next year!
Although there is plenty to entertain you on your door step, should you venture outside, the charm of the Cotswolds awaits. Below are listed a number of the nearby attractions which will make for a wonderful day out:
* Cirencester is an historic Roman town in the heart of the Cotswolds with attractions from a Roman Amphitheatre to the nearby Chedworth Roman Villa. The Corinium Museum in an important source of information on the local history. Cirencester has many fine examples of historic mosaics, including one which can be found near the Brewery Arts Centre in the heart of Cirencester.
* Stow-on-the-Wold is a small market town of about 2000 people set in the Cotswold Hills. It stands beside the Roman Fosse Way at its junction with six other roads, where a settlement has existed since the Iron Age. Like many of the Cotswold towns and villages, the houses were built with the very distinctive mellow Cotswold stone from local quarries.
* Cotswold Wildlife Park: lions, white rhinos
Golf: The nearest golf course is at 'Cirencester Golf Club' on the Cheltenham Road which is just north of the town and approximately 8 miles from the Lower Mill Estate. Green fees are reasonable and visitors are welcome.
