About Kathy Alonzo

I own, operate, and personally oversee three quality vacation rentals in the Fairbanks area: a downtown location that sleeps 2, a two bedroom log home that sleeps 4 in a quiet neighborhood, and a huge natural log home in a prime area for aurora viewing that sleeps 8.. I hosted guests at A Moose in the Garden B&B for 10 years before my grand baby arrived and changed my life's direction. I now have changed the B&B into a vacation rental and purchased other properties to provide QUALITY vacation homes for travelers from around the world. I have made so many friends over the years. It's not a job, it's a privilege to assist my guests.

I have been a primary school teacher for over 23 years and continue to teach. I love children and feel after all these years that I am now a grandma to them and love them like they are extended family.

Please feel free to email me with any questions about my other properties: #430134 or #789637

Great Digs in Fairbanks

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time in Fairbanks - a winter wonderland! Kathy's vintage house was perfect for the two of us; great city location - walkable to restaurants/shopping/city sites, comfy bed/linens, an amazingly well equipped kitchen, and an overall homey feel. Kathy was very helpful as we planned for our trip. A wonderful hostess! If we're every in Fairbanks again

this would be our residence of choice! We had a great time at Hoo Doo Brewery!

Loved this vintage house. Is so nicely appointed and bright with all the windows. Location is fabulous for walking all around downtown. Kathy was quick and easy on the communication. Bathroom shower is wonderful with really hot water. Kitchen is cute but not really set up well with cooking utensil, look before you cook ! Great Thai restaurant 1 minute away. Overall really loved this house

The Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this lovely home. Everything was perfect for us here. Extremely neat and clean, nice and warm, very quiet and decorated with quality. We loved the character of this little home. We found everything we needed to cook with. I ground my coffee beans and had great coffee. We watched local news on the TV and we used the washer & dryer before we left town. We found a great restaurant “Bobby’s Downtown” close by and we could plug our car in at the house before we would leave to go anywhere. This is a true Fairbanks Gem and the owner contacted us right away concerning the rental.

Great charming place! Quiet and right downtown Fairbanks!

  • 5 of 5

Cute house! Perfect for 1-3 visitors. Host was accommodating and the place was neat and tidy when we arrived, even had the snow removed from the walk and parking area.

Owner's Response: Living in Alaska and owning several vacation rentals, I can be seen driving around town with my snow blower and shovels in the back of my truck. I work very hard at keeping the properties clear of snow. When it is severely cold, I even keep the snow blower running in the back of my truck as I drive to the next vacation rental. I like knowing how much that is appreciated.

Cozy comfortable house in downtown

  • 5 of 5

Kathy's house is very nice and clean. It is quiet and comfortable, everything is very convenient. Electric plug is very useful in the winter for my rental car. Thanks for offering it. Kathy is very nice to us. She helped me to park my car on the snow and remove the heavy snow for us. Thanks a lot!

Owner's Response: I do have many guests who are not familiar with driving in the winter. I do my best to assist them with helpful tips for ice and snow. I also try to suggest safe areas for them to drive to view the aurora that are not such treacherous roads. Two different groups recently had set there parking brake and had forgotten, and thought they were stuck in the snow! And yes, we do plug in our winterized vehicles when the temps dip below 20ºF. There is a head bolt located conveniently in the parking area.

Great Time in Fairbanks

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at "Lead Dog Cabin" during our recent trip to Fairbanks. The cabin was great! Extremely clean! We loved it! Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, and convenient location. Small details like a motion sensor light in the bathroom was a welcome surprise. Kathy is professional, kind, and helpful. We took advantage of some really good hiking at and near Chena Hot Springs. Watched the Aurora Borealis from Murphy Dome. Great trip!
