Come and stay in our beautifully-kept golf-garden apartment in Murcia with its own terrace and walk-out access to a large swimming pool and a PGA golf course on your doorstep. Marble flooring & tiling throughout.The generous en-suite master bedroom has full-length built-in wardrobes with plenty of storage space. A 2nd bedroom also has a built-in wardrobe. Both can be offered as doubles or twin rooms. Inside, relax on a comfy corner king size sofa that opens up into a sprung double bed for additional guests. Each room has air-conditioning and heating. A large flat-screen LCD HDTV with BBC, ITV, and Sky channels, a DVD player, and Sony PlayStation and library of games all provided. Dine at the large dining table inside or out on the terrace 'al fresco' by the pool. Fully fitted kitchen with Zanussi appliances. This quiet golf resort is next to Los Alcazares, Murcia and has 24-hour gated security. Guests are offered gated, underground parking.

Golf & Beach Facilities: Roda's 18 hole par 72 PGA golf course is designed by Dave Thomas. Sam Torrance is the golf Club Captain. The golf operation is managed by DeVere Hotels (responsible for the famous Belfry course in England). On site is a pro-shop where clubs can be hired. There are 3 other golf courses within a 15 minute drive of the resort, and a further 3 within a 30 minute drive. So there's plenty of choice while staying right near the beach. The closest beach at Los Alcazares is wide and sandy with a promenade, beach cafes and bars. It runs down to the Mar Menor - Europe's largest fresh water lagoon. Because it is protected from the open sea it is warm, calm, and quite shallow (up to 2m) making it perfect for trying water sports and for those less confident of swimming. The exclusive Roda Beach Club (membership included) on La Manga strip includes a pool, Jacuzzi, and private beach to the open sea.

Restaurant Facilities: The new excellent Clubhouse located on resort has a stylish restaurant and bar (waitress service) serving full menu breakfast, lunch and dinner. The local town, Los Alcazares offers dozens more choices and is only 1km away (less than 5 min drive) - including Chinese, Fish & Steak specialty, Indian, World/Fusion, Italian, and Spanish cuisine. Please contact us for suggestions of some great places we have tried.

If you prefer to eat in there is a mini-mart on resort, or a supermarket a 10 minute walk away.

Other Services: We would like to help make your stay as easy and pleasant as possible. Please ask us about car hire (very good prices if booking in advance), or local attractions. We have an information pack available. Should any emergencies arise there will be someone locally whom you can call for assistance. While the apartment comes with a washing machine and clothes drier, if you'd prefer to have your sheets and towels laundered for you we can provide this at a small additional cost.

For larger groups an adjacent apartment may also be available to hire.

The Mar Menor area is one of the sunniest in Spain with over 300 days sunshine a year. However, should the weather turn we have provided a Sony PlayStation games console with a library of games, a DVD player, and a state-of-the-art flat screen high definition LCD screen. Cable TV gives access to a dozen or so British TV channels. A small selection of board games are also provided.

Why Dan & Michelle chose San Javier

We bought our second home here because the garden opens out straight on to the large pool. It's also close to the clubhouse and shops and a short walk to the beach. We like to go in the Spring and Autumn to make summer last even longer but the resort is buzzing in summer and the beach club offers a second place to explore for our guests.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is plenty big enough for four but can sleep five or six using the sofa bed.

No Smoking inside the apartment, please. Pets are also not allowed. While we believe the apartment is suitable for the elderly or infirm (especially as it on the ground floor) it does not offer handrails in the bathrooms nor emergency pull cords.

Have just returned from this apartment and would recommend it to anyone. It was spacious and immaculatley clean and was kitted out with everything you could need. The owners were incredibly helpful.

Fantastic holiday, Lovely perfect family apartment, we will be returning.

We had an amazing family break, the apartment was everything we needed. The pool being so close is a great added bonus. Everyone around the site was friendly, the restaurant serves lovely meals and has a good choice.

The large supermarket is very close by and has all you need. The beach and the main square is a 5-6 minute drive and the airport not even 10 minutes drive, so location is fantastic.

Last but not least Michelle answered all of my very many questions and was always so helpful. Me and my family are already planning a second visit. :-)

Perfect for a family break in the sun.

My partner and our boys visited in late May and had a really memorable break. The outstanding feature of this property is its open aspect onto lovely lawn and pool. We felt very secure allowing our boys (13 and 8) the run of the pool area. It was quiet as out of season but there are so many similar pools around the complex that I can't imagine it ever getting overly busy, even in high season.

The apartment was well equipped, comfortable and clean. We were met at the reception and shown to the apartment even though we arrived around midnight.

The complex is basically living accommodation and pools with lovely pathways leading to golf course, clubhouse and small shop. Very quiet and secure feel to the whole place.

We had a car and ventured out to nearby supermarket, beach bars and restaurants but spent most of our time relaxing by the pool. Would recommend for families and golfers.

Michelle was helpful throughout the booking process and answered all queries straightaway.

Will definitely book again.

Nice and Homely but NO WI-FI

Overall a pleasant apartment. We used to own a place on La Torre and everyone there had internet connection. Wrongly, we assumed this apartment on Roda would have internet (we needed this for our stay) and so we were taken aback when the keyholder said there was no internet/wi-fi! Our error, however, it would have been hugely beneficial if the description states NO INTERNET.

Anyway, the booking process was excellent - easy and friendly. Finding the apartment was easy too - very close to airport.

Will start with the 'Cons' first:

-No Internet/Wi-fi (not a problem if you don't need it though) - we had to buy lots of data to resolve this issue.

-Neighbour upstairs would flick cigarette butts over his balcony landing on us below!

-Awful noise everytime neighbour upstairs flushed toilet during the night (which was approximately 6 times per night). This disturbed our sleep. The plumbing system is dreadful in that respect.

-No dishwasher (but again not an issue if not dining in much)

-TV reception on BBC1 was not good (fortunately we didn't watch much TV so not major problem)

-Double bed in main bedroom is 2 singles pushed together. Now this is fine if they stay together, but they didn't! Would wake up with a few inches between us!! Suggest a double bedsheet that covers both beds and maybe some ties to keep the beds together.

-On La Torre our apartment used to overlook the pool and golf course beyond and beautiful open views. Unfortunately this apartment here overlooks the pool and the apartments on the otherside. Not sure if any of the apartments on Roda overlook the golf course?

-cleanliness wasn't 100%, eg, lots of dust/hairs under bed.


-2 bathrooms - this is very handy

-location is great for restaurants, beach, shopping and airport

-Dan and Michelle very helpful and left us a bottle of Cava upon our arrival celebrating my birthday. Really lovely gesture.

-The heating packed up on our 2nd day - not that heating should be required, but weather was not great and we were feeling the cold. They managed to get this fixed the next day.

-good space in the apartment

-Nice decor and felt homely

So, overall there were some plus points and some negative points. Unfortunately we are unlikely to return to Roda again.

We feel that most of the points you make have already been addressed, so that your next stay will be even better. Dan and I always strive to make sure our guests are happy and we're pleased you found the service we personally offered during the booking helpful. Thoughtful touches like your birthday bubbly we believe make the experience a more personal one than booking a hotel. You mention that there is no wi-fi in the apartment, and that we don't advertise wifi in the apartment. You are right. Most guests prefer to use their mobile phone for the occasional online search or email (a service provided for free by some UK mobile operators, or for just a few pence) or they pop over to the clubhouse which provides fast and free wifi. We try to keep prices as low as we can for guests and at present we don't think charging an extra €25 per week would be fair to the majority who don't come to work or use lots of data. We are keeping this policy under review and always appreciate further feedback. We're sorry to hear that someone upstairs disturbed you. Like any apartment we can't govern how other guests at nearby apartments will behave. We've not had complaints from the thirty or so clients we have welcomed in the past three years, but we shall keep a record of this one. Thank you. During April the TV services on the Roda resort were switched to digital TV. We have upgraded our system and we were sorry this may have affected services during your stay. We offer clients the flexibility of setting up the bedrooms as they wish - either twins or double beds. Again we've not had a complaint of beds actually moving, but I have asked Mark, our apartment manager to look into it. I was personally at the apartment before you both arrived and have to say having checked over everything I didn't see anything that wasn't spotless. Indeed other reviewers mention how clean the property is. The apartment doesn't just offer pool views, being on the ground floor it offers direct access from the terrace to one of the largest pools on the resort. Our photos show that. Properties that look out over the golf course are also available at Roda Golf and Beach resort. Thank you again for your stay with us. We are pleased you had a good time overall and hope we have made some changes to improve the experience next time.

Lovely apartment in great location

This was our second visit to Dan & Michelle's lovely apartment. Firstly they went out of their way with Mark (their property manager) to accommodate a very last minute booking - much appreciated. We took several walks around the complex and this apartment is probably in the best location, overlooking lovely gardens and a good sized swimming pool. Very nicely furnished and well maintained, and with good quality comfy beds. I'm pretty sure that we'll be back for a third visit!

Great apartment. A real home from home.

A lovely apartment with everything you need and a great patio area and pool just a few paces away. The pool and surrounding gardens are excellent and it is a perfect place to relax. The town of Los Alcazares is just 5 mins drive away with plenty of good places to eat. The beach and prom are full of local Spanish life - a great place to go for long walks in the evening and savour the real Spain. We would highly recommend this apartment and would like to thank Dan & Michelle for all their help in accommodating us at such short notice.

The 18-hole PGA golf course is managed by the De Vere group and is described by Sam Torrence as one of the best in Europe. Three other courses are within 15 mins drive. Please ask for more information including a discount on green fees when you stay with us. In summer you also have access to an exclusive beach club located on La Manga strip offering a supervised pool, Jacuzzi, solarium, restaurant, and bar. It's easy to get to by car or short ferry ride. Sandy beaches (5 mins drive) offer water sports, cafes and bars. To the south is the pretty port of Cartegena offering fantastic shopping and stunning bay side restaurants; to the north is the regions capital, Murcia with its ancient Cathedral & cultural events. There are 3 outdoor karting circuits within 20 minutes drive of the apartment, a cinema (showing English language films weekly), and in the local town of Los Alcazares many boutique shops in the old town. Spa treatments nearby and bowling alley and pool tables for rainy days!

Other Activities: 3 large outdoor go-karting tracks

A large floodlit driving range is also on-site. There are three further golf courses within a 15 minute drive of the resort, and three more within a 30-minute drive. If some of your party aren't keen on golf the beach is less than a mile away. It's right next to the winding cobbled roads of the Old Town with it's boutique shops. A newly-built large shopping complex housing a casino and cinema is just 15 mins drive away.
