About Linda Breton

Linda, British, and Jean-Jacques, French, were married in 1972 and have lived in France since then. We have 3 grown-up children and (so far in 2014) 5 grand-children.

Linda Breton purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Linda Breton chose Quimper area

We fell in love with the property, which is built of local granite, in 2000 and we've grown to love the area too. We've been renting the cottage since 2002. .

What makes this cottage unique

We feel that the property has a rare combination of being situated not far from the beach, being close to amenities yet is an oasis of greenery off the road.

Beautiful, secluded gite

  • 5 of 5

This was probably one of the best gites we've ever rented. It was very conveniently located between Plobannalec-Lesconil and Le Guilvinec, yet still very secluded; the extensive garden area and activities for children to do (pingpong/swings etc) were great, as was the outdoor dining area. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment and very easy to use. The beds were extremely comfortable. The owners, who live in the barn behind the gite, were very welcoming, helpful and laid back. And, all in all, it represented good value for money. I'd certainly want to rent this property again if I were returning to this area of France.

Just perfect for our family of four

  • 5 of 5

We missed nothing in this lovely cottage: very clean, fully equipped including garden furniture and sport gear. Linda and Jean-Jacques are very friendly and helpful. The garden is more like a park with a private pond.

All facilities (bakery, supermarket, fresh fish and seafood) are close and the Kersaux beach is a 10 minutes bicycle ride away on small country roads.

Perfect spacious cottage with beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in this spacious cottage and spent a few utterly relaxing hours sitting on the patio admiring the view and sitting on the sun loungers enjoying the sun and the view. The garden in magnificent. We enjoyed walking in the surrounding countryside and clamboring over the rocks at the nearby beach.

Very well equiped kitchen with plenty of storage space

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Being two adults and three children in the age between 9 and 13 years, we had our 14 days vacation in this cottage in August / September 2011.

The main reason for us to choose it was the benefit of a spacious and interesting garden in the middle of an open breton countryside.

It allows the children to have a huge area for there ideas, playing badminton, table tennis, discovering the underwoods, playing soccer, hide & seek and so on.

The cottage itself fits all our needs, the rooms are tidy and it is set up with the equipment someone usually needs for vacation.

I'm not sure about performance of the Wifi Access (I didn't try that),once we needed a connection to the internet we used the system of the owners.

The owners, which had spent their vacation in a cottage beneath, are very helpful in all the things which may occur,

and they are always good for a nice smalltalk in English (and French, of course).

This is very interesting for improving someones French.

The area around is the THE BRETON LANDSCAPE itself.

In 3km walking distance the south faced Kersauz beach is one of several white atlantic sand beaches in the area.

In 10 minute walking distance prehistoric dolmen and menhir locations can be found.

Furthermore several villages and cities in a 30 km environment are interesting for visiting there harbours, markets and events.

This Cournaille Area is also very interesting for bicycle tours, unfortunatly we did'nt try that.

Also the infrastructure around is vacation proof. Supermarket, Bar&Tabac, bakery can be found within 1km distance

The weather in end of August was real summer-alike.

It did never rain during the day, the temperaturs were about 22 degrees, the climate is really smooth,

which also can be seen on the vegetation everywhere around, which is nearly subtropical.

The sun intensity was very high (Take care of sunburns).

Swimming in the ocean is the most refreshing thing, but you have to be a kind of brave for that (Not everybody likes water temperaturs of 19 degrees).

In September it started to become stormy, which is also an interesting experience on the oceanside.

So no bathing anymore in the ocean, but now the "Peche a Pied" and fishing started for us.
