If you're looking to stay in one of the hippest local areas of new orleans a bit away from the tourist life, but within easy reach of the quarter, the Super Dome and magazine street (10 minutes). Check out Oak Street area. Oak st has some of New Orleans best restaurants, night clubs, coffee shops, bars and art studios in the city and all within a block or two of this house.

This historic house is located on mellow Cambronne st just off Hip Oak st, just a half block from Jacque-imo's, the Maple Leaf Bar, Oak Bar, Squeal BBQ, and Frenchy's Gallery.... Within 2 blocks of three coffee shops, Ninja Sushi, 2 Yoga Studios, Ale NOLA, Mellow Mushroom and everything else the riverbend has to offer....Under 1 mile from the Universities, the Zoo and Audubon Park. There is a street car line 3 blocks away that runs all the way into the quarter with a beautiful ride down Saint Charles.

Description of house: This master unit is 2 stories.....Upstairs has 3 private bedrooms and a full bath. Downstairs has 2 large living/dining rooms, plus a half bathroom, foyer and large kitchen. There are large porches on the front and back of the house and a large backyard that has been paved and converted into off street parking. This 100 year old uptown house has been renovated and restored back to its original style, with original hardwood floors and trim work, mantels and doors, plus new central AC and heat. The clean kitchen and baths have gorgeous tile work, plus a large front porch for hanging out on. There is also a private washer and dryer in the shed.

You can smell Jacque-imo's delicious cooking from the front porch and dance home from the maple leaf any time of night.

Oak street area is a great area with the maple leaf bar, and Carrolton Station close by, and the coffee shops and restaurants just a block away its a really relaxing, fun area to be in. Never crowded with tourists, its still very centrally located in New Orleans.

Fantastic Stay with the Whole Family

Family recently took our father to NOLA for the first time as a 70th birthday gift! We had 12 adults and 4 kids (including two toddlers) between the two houses and it worked out great! There was plenty of space and everything you need is close-by. A quiet, safe neighborhood. Lots of charm - with the Maple Leaf, Jacques-Imo's, cafes, Yoga, and plenty more just a stone's throw away! The streetcar is close for access to other parts of the city. Our family most definitely had a memorable stay in NOLA at this place!

Huge thanks to Brandon for being super attentive and professional! He had quick answers to all of our questions and took care of all of our needs. The whole experience was easy and painless! Highly recommended if you're looking for a great stay in the Big Easy

Overall Good Stay....

I'll start off with the good..... Great location off Oak street. We were there for our sons graduation of Tulane. Conveniently located only about a mile from the campus. When we arrived at the residence there was ample parking. I particularly liked the secured parking in the back of the unit located behind the gate. We travel in a Mercedes Sprinter Road-trek RV and there was ample parking off the street which is one of the primary reasons for picking this particular location. The charm of the house is a typical historical NOLA house. You could definitely tell Brandon wanted to keep the old southern charm. Loved the idea of split level with two bedrooms upstairs. Both bedrooms were of ample size. The third bedroom was downstairs next to the laundry and to be quite honest, it was a little creepy but yet cozy. Both bathrooms were newly renovated with updated tile in the showers, the downstairs bathroom was a little cramped but fit well with the old NOLA charm of the house. I felt as though the furniture and decor was a little outdated. There are numerous local stores selling art and decor for a reasonable price that could really spruce the place up quite a bit and add to the NOLA charm. The kitchen could also use a little updating, hopefully that is the next project for this home. Unfortunately we ran into a little AC issue but Brandon was on top of it. Unfortunately when we let him know about it, it was too late in the evening to do anything about it. Fortunately there are fans in every room which helped cool the house off nicely. I would stay here again and look forward to newly renovations.

Beautiful, fabulously-located, family-friendly home.

After a previous booking canceled on us, we were left concerned about finding a place that would accommodate us perfectly in the two weeks we had left. We found this house, and it could not have been more perfect. We have an 18 month old, and sometimes that can be a challenge. Especially given the two staircases, we bought babygates, and only ended up using one (down to the base level) because of the beautiful molding and woodwork on the walls. This didn't end up being a problem at all. The neighbors were very nice, the neighborhood was fantastic, and the parking in the back was all very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.
