|Minimum Stay||2 - 4 nights|
Location,Luxury, and Location. This cabin has just finished a complete 250k remodel and under new ownership. Owners David and Pam Musselman are sparing no expense to create an experience that will certianly make this one of the most popular ski in ski out cabins in the west.
The theme of this cabin is an old miners shack combined with a ski bum element. There is a combination of metals and wood that make this unique. The bathrooms are designed to look like an old mine shaft and the living areas will make you feel that you are a teenager again with all of the ski and snowboard deco.
Large comfortable leather couches will be in both TV family rooms and of course there will be premium surround sound theater in both family rooms and the master bedroom.
The kitchen cabinets have been custom designed by the owners as are all of the light fixtures in the cabin.
If you want to spoil yourself with one of the most charming cabins on the hill to make your ski trip perfect then you will not be let down.
SUMMER WEDDING PEOPLE!!! This cabin has become one of the most popular wedding cabins in the canyon. You can have your ceremony on the massive deck with the most amazing view of the mountain and use both kitchens to cater to your cozy wedding dinner out on the grass. You can easily have 70 guests for a wedding dinner. If you need help with the tables and chairs and set up just ask!
When the wedding is over the newlywed couple can stay in the romantic suite that is perfect for that special occasion with a jetted tub and sauna and massive 12 bodyjet shower.
Winter or Summer...Its the perfect cabin!
David is a professional mediator and arbitrator. Pam is a full time mother of 6 children
David Musselman purchased this cabin in 2011
We wanted a location that was close to the city that we could access in the summer easily. We also love all of the variety of things to do from biking, fishing, and of course skiing. Being only 15 minutes from Deer Valley was also a big plus.
For winter travelers, The cabin sits right of the main highway leading to Brighton. This means that if you come to ski, you will not need a snowmobile to get to the cabin. The roads are maintained during the winter and unless there is a major storm 90% of the time you can drive a front wheel drive car right to the front door!
Great cabin and nice amenities. David was awesome to deal with and very helpful!
Great place to stay right in the heart of Brighton, Utah. Very cozy cabin with enough entertainment both inside and out to keep everyone entertained. Very happy with our experience here!
We had a blast. The place was perfect for us. When friends came to visit, they were totally awed by the decor. We were across the road from the Silver Lake. We saw moose and deer from the deck. The trails were magnificent. The Silvet Fork had great food. The cupboards were well stocked with every kitchen utensil necessary. The laundry facilities came in handy. There were 12 of us, and we were all quite comfortable. Close to Park City over the Pass. Would gladly stay again, if I get the opportunity to do so. Owner was always available and happy to assist.
What a neat home! We had the pleasure of a week of skiing in Utah, staying at this very cool home in Brighton. We are three professional couples, used to the finer things in life and high-end travel. This home didn’t disappoint and accommodated us very nicely. We made good use of the hot tub and the sauna in the larger bathroom. The home had incredibly unique decorating features, was clean, and there were plenty of towels for our group. We used the well-stocked kitchen, having breakfast together as a group each morning, and then stayed in for some dinners. The moose in the living room gave us a lot of laughs (if you’d stayed at this home, you know what we mean).
In terms of location and choice of skiing, owner David’s prediction to us was right on: that once we got up to the top of the canyon, we’d never want to leave. We left just once, and that was the first night, to go back down to town to a few grocery stores to stock up and go to a restaurant. For the rest of the week, we didn’t budge. We ate twice a few miles down the road in the canyon at Silver Fork Lodge (what a great place!) and also enjoyed a dinner at Honeycomb Grill in the Solitude village area. No need to trudge back down the canyon for excellent food. (But if staying here in the winter, you most definitely want a four-wheel drive, just in case.)
We decided to only sky both Brighton and Solitude, as we were highly impressed with both—amazing skiing for all levels (our group ranged from green to black diamonds). We also couldn’t believe how decent the food was at both ski resorts, and for reasonable priced—Molly Green’s at Brighton and the Roundhouse at Solitude. Real food, and good food! At both resorts, the lift systems were terrific, the slopes were beautifully groomed each night, there were absolutely no lift lines, and the personnel were incredibly friendly and helpful. But Brighton… well, what a cool place – hoping it doesn’t get too discovered!
David could not be nicer, or more accommodating or responsive. He’d used our vacation home shortly before we used his Utah home, so we’d developed nice communications. When we had a minor problem while we were at his Utah house, he responded immediately, stopping by personally to get it repaired. It was so nice to meet him in person!
If you are an avid skier, wanting fabulous, true skiing without crowds, lift lines, or pretense, and a fabulous home to make your base for your ski trip, this is it!
We stayed at the cabin with a (reasonably responsible) bachelor party of 13 and had a great time. The cabin looks great - as pictured - and was well taken care of. Location was just what we wanted, near Brighton but away from a lot of the tourists. Owning was incredibly helpful. If you book, reach out to him. The owner's son helped us arrange getting groceries, so the kitchen and bar were fully stocked when we arrived. They also helped us (for an extra fee, of course) with shuttling back and forth from the airport, to Park City for a night out, to Snowbird for a day, etc. The level of service and convenience really made the trip.
I am a Salt Lake local who rented the cabin for a large group of friends visiting for a long ski weekend. The cabin has everything you could ask for.
The location is fantastic as you could walk to Brighton Ski Resort( Great snow, family friendly, great tree runs and no lift lines!) Only a 5 min drive to Solitude Resort.
The kitchen is well equipped and we ate in most nights as there are not too many dining options nearby. We loved the wood burning fire place, sauna and hot tub.
The big window facing the mountain is worth the price of admission..
Plenty of room for our party of 11
My family looks forward to renting from Dave in the summer. Silver Lake is right next door and when the snow melts Guardiman's Pass will open making Park City an easy drive over spectacular scenery.
Golf: Take a drive over Gaurdsman Pass and you are only 15 minutes from 3 world class Golf Courses. The homestead, Wasatch, and Soldier Hollow.
Ski: This is truly a ski in/out cabin. You can walk out your door and be on the lift in less than 5 minutes.
