This holiday property Casa Ciki, is situated in a delightful traditional village of Magomadas, near the charming little holiday resort of Bosa on the west coast of Sardinia. The house has two high quality air conditioning units in both bedrooms and ceiling fans. Magomadas is a little village with three bars, 1 small supermarket, a pharmacy, a vinery, an excellent local restaurant, and a Pizzeria. There is very, very little English or German spoken either in Magomadas, Bosa or generally in this part of the island. The property has two good sized bedrooms with air conditioning, and ceiling fans. It has a large living room, a spacious kitchen diner, and has free WIFI Internet. There is a terrace on the third floor with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and furniture for a relaxing holiday in the sun. Bosa is only 7 kilometre's away, and this has numerous bars, shops and restaurants that are open all year. Nearby Bosa Marina has three very good supermarkets, plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants although some many are only open from May/June to October/November. There are numerous beaches within a ten minute drive and plenty of other holiday activities.

About Bryn Davies
I am originally from the Vale of Clwyd in North Wales. My home town was the historic market town of Ruthin where I lived for 25 years. I lived a further 7 years in nearby Denbigh before relocating to the wonderful City of Norwich in Norfolk, East Anglia. England. Since 2008 we have lived in the equally beautiful city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire.
Bryn Davies purchased this House in 2005
Why Bryn Davies chose Magomadas
This property is in a small village which retains many characteristics of Sardinian life. We fell in love with the view. It is absolutely wonderful - I never tire of it.
What makes this House unique
The thing we love about the house is the stunning view of the countryside. That is also what many of our guests have said. The other beauty is the sky at night, particularly in the summer, the view from the top terrace is breathtaking.

Great place to stay in a real Sardinian village
We had a most enjoyable week in this lovely house. The view really is just as good as the photo, although unfortunately for us, the rain and cold arrived a day after we did and stayed for the remainder of the week. Nonetheless we had a lovely time. The house was very comfortable and had all that we needed. It was great to have the space to spread out after travelling around. Wifi worked well [once we worked out how not to disconnect it!]. We enjoyed pottering around Magomadas and surrounding villages, where we found the people very friendly [speaking Italian certainly was an asset]. This is also a good base for exploring further afield, with each of Oristano to the south and Alghero to the north being around an hour's drive away. The area is full of history, stunning scenery and is a lovely place to enjoy nature [we were thrilled to see the endangered griffon vultures just north of Bosa]. We hope to return before long, and maybe even enjoy this wonderful part of Sardinia in sunshine.
Thank you for your kind comments. You were so unlucky with the weather. It was our pleasure to welcome you to Casa Ciki and look forward to seeing you in future years.
Lovely traditional Sardinian House
Stayed August 2017.
Bryn was very helpful from the outset and was approachable for local info and advice. The Casa had everything we needed. Ground floor was sitting room/ Kitchen diner leading out to a patio area with views for miles over Sardinia for alfresco eating. The second floor had a double and twin room with air con, and family bathroom with shower. The upper floor was a roof terrace with benches and loungers and the odd owl visiting!
We were next to the village shop with the lovely Pierina serving us for basics, bread milk cheese lovely hams, but for fresh food need to go out of the village,
Our favorite places. Sardineri restaurant Modolo for excellent food, fish pizza, friendly cheap.
Beaches, Poto Alabe (Sandy) and Santa Maria del Mare( Rocky) ( good small shop) and spiaggia di turas( rocky), we tried the tourist beaches but they were wall to wall people and was not our bag. Beaches are generally rough and almost surfy.
Sundown drinks LeMore4 Bosa Marina
Bosa, favourate food- two restaurants south of the river on Lungo Temo Emilio Scherer.
Alghero, lovely harbourside city.
Oristano quiet quaint.
Boat trip with Bosa Diving, great day out, snorkeling, swimming, nature, history, crystal blue waters, worth the money.
Sardinia is what you make it. Seek out the coves, delicious foods, friendly locals and siesta.
What a lovely review - thank you so much. You've packed quite a bit into the 10 days. I do agree with you that it is a special island.
We spent 2 weeks at Casa Ciki and appreciated fresh rooms, terraces and calm of the village.
Many thanks to Bryn who is always attentive to our needs.
Thank you Pascale. We do our utmost to make the holiday as comfortable as possible for our guests. I agree with you that Magomadas is a lovely quiet village and from the Casa Ciki terraces that there are some wonderful views.
Casi Ciki traumhafte Ausblicke, immer wieder gern
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed Casa Ciki
Village house with a delightful view
Arrived in a Sardinia to 39 degrees. It was hot and stayed like that for 5 days. The wind changed direction and it dropped to 35 degrees. The property being not far from the coast there was always a pleasant breeze. The owner has fitted the bedrooms with overhead fans and A/C for use during the night so sleeping was never a problem. The property was very clean and on the whole well maintained although we did have a problem with one of the showers being slow to drain away. The description of the property was accurate with the layout etc. We were 4 adults staying at the property, the open stairs might have been an issue if it had been two adults with small children. The owner was contactable prior to arrival etc and provided a wealth of information by e-mail about the house and surrounding area, as well as there being a copy at the house as well. The property is set in a little viilage, very rural and rustic, and great for a quiet life, that said the local Sardinians were always approachable and very friendly and will to help. There were a number of local festivals taking place which were enjoyable to view and watch some of the horse manship. There was a local supermarket for basics, however we did the main shopping at supermarkets in the nearby town of Bosa, one of which was very good. The local restaurants on the whole are very good, didn't eat meat the whole fortnight we were there, there was always a good selection of local fresh fish etc. There are 2 restaurants in the village, a mainly fish one and a pizzeria called Gino's, which were the best pizza's I have tasted. The rest of the restaurants someone has to drive to, or eat in. The property is ideally suited for the local beaches of which there are several the one we used the most was about 6 km away called Porto Albre ??. Aleghero to the North was worth a visit, we hired a boat there for the day. The property was a useful place for heading North and South along this part of the coast line which is not very tourist developed until you get to the top of the Island. When you had to travel it was twisty roads which can be a problem for some, there was no volume of traffic, until we visited the developed part top of the Island. All in all it was a good place to visit , quiet, and a good place to recharge our batteries. We spent one evening laid out on the roof terrace loungers watching the shooting stars which take place mid August every year, it was quite a sight. Worth the rental. Car hire expensive !!
Many thanks and glad you enjoyed the holiday.
This is the perfect relaxing holiday in a working Sardinian village. There is a little sign of the tourist other than during the height of the season in late July and August. With delightful beaches only a 10 minute drive away it is a sun seekers paradise. There are delightful walks, charming little villages and the nearby town of Bosa for some shops, restaurants and cultural delights.
The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive away at Porto Alabe, which is fairly quiet outside mid July to the end of August when traditionally mainland Italy flocks to Sardinia. Porto Alabe is quite self contained and has two bars and a mini market open all year. Bosa beach
The largest beach is in Bosa Marina which is a comfortable 15 minutes drive away from Magomadas. This is our favourite as it has some good facilities nearby, such as the beachside cafes, equipment to hire for the very large beach and watersports. It also has a good number of shops, bars and restaurants in the streets away from the beach. From the 2 marinas it is possible to hire boats, take fishing and diving trips and make the journey up river to get a different view of Bosa, from the water, to the Romanesque Church of St Peter. There is also a small train station from which a tourist train runs trips into the countryside and back in the high season.
Welcome to our Private Rental Villa in Sardinia. The beautiful island of Sardinia is located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is located in a little village with a quaint little friendly local bar, a very small supermarket, pharmacy, vinery and an excellent local restaurant. Our Villa in Sardinia is available for rent all year round.
Bosa Marina, like Porto Alabe, is only particularly busy in the high season. In May, June and September when temperatures will still be in the high 20s at least, one can normally park within a hundred yards or so of the sea at any time of the day. July and August are busier but parking is usually achievable and free.
In addition to the restaurant in Magomadas there is a very good pizza take away/restaurant in nearby Tresnuraghes (a 10 min walk). Bosa and Bosa Marina have a number of good eating places, and you pass a number of good roadside restaurants on the drive from Magomadas to Bosa. The village of Modolo, that you will be able to see from the terrace, also has an excellent restaurant by the unmissable church spire.
Casa Ciki, in the traditional village of Magomadas, is situated in the North West of Sardinia, about 20 miles/40 km South of Alghero, the nearest airport. It is close to the coastal town of Bosa.
The drive from Alghero to Bosa and Magomadas and Casa Ciki is worth the trip alone. The only way of describing it, is like having Snowdonia on the left hand side and the beautiful blue Mediterranean on the right. It is 45 minutes of breathtaking scenery.
The village of Tresnuraghes is a two minute drive from Magomadas, and is a similarly traditional Sardinian village where time also seems to have stood still! Strangers are looked on with curiosity by the very friendly locals who will always respond to a 'Buongiorno' or ‘Buonasera’. There is everything you need here, minimarkets, butchers, bakers and bars but not with the selection of the supermarkets in Bosa or Macomer.
In a different direction is the delightful village of Flussio. This small village is famous for its basket weaving and on warm summer nights you will see many of the inhabitants sat outside working at their craft. Baskets are hung outside by the doorways and it is possible to buy them directly from here. In May you can see the raw material, the stems of the local Asphedol plant, laid out on the pavements to dry.
Almost adjoining the village on the same road is Tinnura. This village is well worth a visit. It has some wonderful murals, sometimes taking up the whole walls of houses – these are incredible. There are a couple of small piazza's that are decorated with colourful tiles, murals and delightful fountains.
The nearest town of any size to Magomadas is the historical city of Bosa. Set on the banks of the River Temo, the only navigable river in Sardinia, its origins go back to Phoenician times. The old historical centre of Bosa spreads up the side of the hill away from the river and is overlooked by the magnificent Malaspina Castle.
The houses here are multi coloured and are built in a traditional tall, thin design. The walk up through the cobbled street leading up to the castle is well worth the effort and the views take in the town, and Bosa Marina with its beach and the sea. The promenade beside the river is palm tree lined and from here you can look at the many fishing and pleasure boats moored on the river banks. Bosa has many pavement bars and cafes, as well as shops, museums, churches and a cathedral.
The village of Tresnuraghes is a two minute drive and is a typical Sardinian village where time also seems to stand still
