About Susan & Terry Dineen

My husband and I always loved the Cabbagetown neighbourhood and downtown Toronto. After our daughter got married we decided to make a move. A friend offered to show us his home and we fell in love with it and made the move from the suburbs to downtown living.

I am a technology consultant and my husband is a lawyer. I grew-up in Halifax on the east coast of Canada. My husband was born and grew-up in Toronto and Brampton.

We are both very familiar with everything Toronto has to offer and are happy to help you with suggestions for attractions, restaurants or shopping excursions.

Susan & Terry Dineen purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Susan & Terry Dineen chose Moss Park

We bought this home from a friend. We always loved the historic character of Cabbagetown and loved the Victorian charm of the house. I had the house researched a few years ago and the original owner was John Taylor who, together with his brother James, owned a safe manufacturing company. You can still find Taylor Safes in historic buildings throughout Toronto - they are too heavy to move!

Located in downtown Toronto a short walk from Yonge/Dundas Square and the Toronto Eaton Centre this property is perfect for families , friends travelling together or business colleagues who want to be able to have a comfortable base for their visit. The unit is on multiple levels and features high ceilings and a beautiful original fireplace.

It is also ideally suited for friends weekends, families or business travellers in town for conferences, meetings or training. There desks in the unit as well as high-speed WIFI and a printer (on request).

A self-serve breakfast is provided with lots of options (bagels, cereal, toast, oatmeal, waffles, pancakes etc). Tea, coffee & juice.

Parking for 1 car is provided.

What makes this apartment unique

Because the unit is large and the bedrooms spread out we are able to specialize in 'special occasions' - family reunions, girlfriends weekends, guys baseball weekend, friends celebrating an anniversary, arrival of a new baby or just a group wanting to share time together - we have happily welcomed many groups who wanted to make downtown Toronto their home base. We also have a large back yard which is ideal for a BBQ or drinks before that special occasion.

This is a beautiful historic home with wonderful front and rear gardens. There are tall ceilings and large windows overlooking the front fountain and bird feeders.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay while on holiday or business then you will find comfortable beds, luxurious linens and a full kitchen with dishwasher.

Parking is provided for one car.

Pets are welcome upon request.

Unless you are planning excursions you will not need to use your car. You can walk to many local attractions, shops and restaurants or take the streetcar, bus or subway which are all close.

Breakfast is self-serve with a wide variety of choices are available: Eggs/Cereal/Bagels/ Toast/Oats/Cream of Wheat. Coffee/Tea/Juice/Milk

The unit has it's own furnace, ceiling fans and air conditioning.

Very comfortable and cozy place

  • 5 of 5

The rental is actually the upper level of the house. The apartment is very neat and well organized. We felt really at home during the 2 days of our stay.

Susan and Terry welcomed us like family members and they made sure we had everything we needed. in addition, the fridge and cupboards were stocked with everything needed for a complete breakfast. Something we had never seen in previous rentals.

The apartment is very quiet at night but it's also within walking distance of several restaurants and grocery stores.

Definitely a nice place to stay for a week-end in Toronto !

Property quite nice for our mini family reunion.

  • 4 of 5

Property very nice, but only one shower was functioning at the time we arrived; we were notified the night before arrival that a remodeling project was underway. Also, not as convenient to downtown activities, required walking sketchy areas. Owners were friendly, let us leave our bags Sunday since we had flights later in the afternoon.

A fabulous find! Wonderful hosts.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here over the Christmas holidays during a record cold snap. The apartment which is the upper floor of a historical Victorian house was comfortable, clean and spacious. There is a full kitchen which is well supplied, a full laundry and the hosts have left lots of extras (shampoo, toothpaste, etc) in case guests have forgotten any items. Beds were very comfortable and there were lots of cosy throws. There is only one full bath with a tub/shower but there was plenty of hot water and this was not a problem with a little planning of our morning routines. There is also a half bath. We ran into a couple of glitches due to the cold weather but Susan responded immediately to our texts and the problems were quickly resolved.

Susan was extremely helpful when we were planning our trip, helping us to find a local restaurant that was open on Christmas day, contacting them so they were expecting our reservation when we called, and with suggestions of things to do and see.

Due to the weather we spent less time out walking around the neighbourhood and more time enjoying the fireplace but we did walk to several local restaurants on Parliament and Carleton and enjoyed some excellent meals. In better weather there is a lot to do and see within walking distance.

We would certainly recommend this property to others and look forward to staying here again the next time we come to Toronto!

Comfortable and great location. Friendly hostess and lots of info.

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely place with all amenities provided - even lots of breakfast food. The kitchen is fully stocked; there are plenty of towels, and ( my personal favorite) lots of hooks for your stuff and night lights! With 3 bedrooms and one and a half bathe we all fit easily. There is a deck for lounging outside, parking for one car and Susan is happy to help with suggestions and info. She pays attention to even small details to provide a comfortable stay. She even went out of her way to include pasta and a special serving dish for our pre-marathon dinner! The house is close many attractions in downtown Toronto, and public transit is readily available. I highly recommend this lovely apartment for a Toronto stay.
