About Susan & Terry Dineen

My husband and I always loved the Cabbagetown neighbourhood and downtown Toronto. After our daughter got married we decided to make a move. A friend offered to show us his home and we fell in love with it and made the move from the suburbs to downtown living.

I am a technology consultant and my husband is a lawyer. I grew-up in Halifax on the east coast of Canada. My husband was born and grew-up in Toronto and Brampton.

We are both very familiar with everything Toronto has to offer and are happy to help you with suggestions for attractions, restaurants or shopping excursions.

Susan & Terry Dineen purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Susan & Terry Dineen chose Moss Park

SPACE + PARKING + BREAKFAST

We bought this home from a friend. We always loved the historic character of Cabbagetown and loved the Victorian charm of the house. I had the house researched a few years ago and the original owner was John Taylor who, together with his brother James, owned a safe manufacturing company. You can still find Taylor Safes in historic buildings throughout Toronto - they are too heavy to move!

Located in downtown Toronto a short walk from Yonge/Dundas Square and the Toronto Eaton Centre this property is perfect for families , friends travelling together or business colleagues who want to be able to have a comfortable base for their visit. The unit is on multiple levels and features high ceilings and a beautiful original fireplace.

It is also ideally suited for friends weekends, families or business travellers in town for conferences, meetings or training. There desks in the unit as well as high-speed WIFI and a printer (on request).

A self-serve breakfast is provided with lots of options (bagels, cereal, toast, oatmeal, waffles, pancakes etc). Tea, coffee & juice.

Parking for 1 car is provided.

What makes this apartment unique

Because the unit is large and the bedrooms spread out we are able to specialize in 'special occasions' - family reunions, girlfriends weekends, guys baseball weekend, friends celebrating an anniversary, arrival of a new baby or just a group wanting to share time together - we have happily welcomed many groups who wanted to make downtown Toronto their home base. We also have a large back yard which is ideal for a BBQ or drinks before that special occasion. It is available upon request.

This is a beautiful historic home with wonderful front and rear gardens. There are tall ceilings and large windows overlooking the front fountain and bird feeders.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay while on holiday or business then you will find comfortable beds, luxurious linens and a full kitchen with dishwasher.

Parking is provided for one car. Vans, larger vehicles and most trucks will fit.

Pets: We love pets and dogs are welcome upon request. They must be trained and well behaved. Food bowls, dog treats and a dog bed are available. Pet Carpet Cleaner is provided should there be an accident; but please note that you will be charged an extra fee if I have to have the carpet cleaned or anything is damaged.

Unless you are planning excursions you will not need to use your car. You can walk to many local attractions, shops and restaurants or take the streetcar, bus or subway which are all close.

Breakfast is self-serve with a wide variety of choices are available: Eggs/Cereal/Bagels/ Toast/Oats/Cream of Wheat. Coffee/Tea/Juice/Milk

The unit has it's own furnace, ceiling fans and air conditioning.

Very homey for two people and we'll decorated and supplied

  • 4 of 5

Property was lovely. Be prepared for many steps--not a problem for us. Walked to hop on/hop off each day. Off of this street, the walking areas were a little sketchy, but we were safe.

Great, well run and cared for property

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the upper level Susan's beautiful Victorian home. The space was a good size for the 5 of us and we were welcome to use the backyard and grille. The kitchen was well stocked plus we were provided with a nice supply of fresh eggs, bread etc. This was a nice surprise.

There are some big city issues that Susan explained to us that have popped up recently. We found it best, when walking, to go up to Gerrard St. Instead of the closer Dundas Ave.

Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

We planned a long weekend girls get-away to Toronto for August 23-26 and we were so excited! Then, in looking at the cost of hotel rooms (we would have needed 2 rooms for 3 nights), we were kinda in shock. I remembered using HomeAway in the past and being very happy with what I could find - so I checked out Toronto and was lucky enough to find Susan and Terry's property! It is beautiful - very nicely decorated and very nice layout for 4 people - we were never in each other's way. There was food enough to serve 10 people for breakfast each day (which was a great surprise) and when we arrived, a fun surprise for us to toast our trip to Toronto. The location is very good - walkable to many restaurants and shops and Uber is a super quick and easy way to get around town. I would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Toronto - families, couples, girls weekend, guys get-away, you name it. Thanks Susan and Terry for an awesome weekend!!!

Awesome little place for a ladies get together

  • 5 of 5

We had 4 ladies stay at this property for some fun in Toronto after a family wedding. This cool old house is in a great spot to get to everything. It's a little sketchy after dark but it's not too bad if you are smart about it. Susan is a great host and make me feel totally at home on check in. Great place to stay in Toronto!

Beautiful apartment with all amenities thought of

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is beautiful, and Susan stocked it with snacks and water, eggs, milk, etc. We appreciated her attention to detail. The entrance is private, yet Susan and her husband are accessible if you need anything. Susan did a load of laundry for us--a big bonus. There is plenty of room and the living room is cozy. We took Lyft to the CN tower and aquarium, from there walked to the ferry terminal to go to Centre Island to rent bikes. The Ontario Science Centre is only a 15-min drive. Some nearby streets have construction and are in transition, just part of city living. We had a nice parking space in the back of the house.
