Modern yet cosy country escape is privately nestled in a gorgeous bush setting, still only 3 minute drive from the main street of Daylesford. Well-appointed with 3 bedrooms and 2 large living areas, the residence is good for couples, families (with kids) or groups of friends and offers perfect gateway for those seeking to relax or get together in a beautiful, warm and comfortable environment. You will love “Serenity” because of the location, the ambience, the space & character – you will feel right at home.

About the house.

“Serenity” is a perfect country getaway and is a great option for a family holiday or quick weekend escape. Nicely tucked away and private, it is still close enough to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, where you can enjoy variety of restaurants, shops and galleries. The house is nestled amidst beautiful natural bushland and manicured gardens and with Wombat State Forest at the edge of the garden you will have direct access to walking tracks, leading to nearby attractions such as Tipperary Springs, Picnic Grounds Twin Bridges - to name some. The residence offers 2 separate large living areas and is set up for you to sit back and enjoy in style and comfort.

The house is air-conditioned for those warm summer days and has heating and fireplace to keep you warm and cosy ion the rather chilly winter nights. It comfortably caters for 7 guests which could be couples, parents with kids and grandparents or two families.

There are 3 charming bedrooms, including master bedroom with king size bed, 2nd bedroom with queen size bed and 3rd bedroom with set of bunks and a single bed. A centrally located, spacious bathroom has a bathtub, separate shower and a make-up area. There is separate laundry area, equipped with washing machine, dryer, ironing facilities, broom, mop and outdoor washing line, providing amenities for those who wish to stay longer than a weekend.

All linen and Towels are also provided.

A modern, fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, large French door fridge, Nespresso Pod machine, 4 slice toaster, sandwich press, slow cooker,..., not to mention a full array of cooking utensils and crockery) flows through to open plan dining/living area where you can sit comfortably at 8 seater table or chill out on the couch and watch TV.

Our spacious house has two separate living areas at either end of the house, each heated and air-conditioned and equipped with 55 inch flat screen TV.

The front living area is perfect for entertaining- adjoining kitchen and dining area and leading to 2 separate decks – the huge front deck equipped with outdoor dining setting, where you can enjoy nice meal or glass of wine, admiring beautiful bush scenery and also the back deck –equipped with gas BBQ, sitting options and bar table, where you can have a beer or two, while cooking up some delicious BBQ meal.

The rear living area is a great space to socialise - play one of board games available or watch DVD on the large screen TV. Alternatively sit back in front of lovely Ned Kelly fireplace and just relax. The rear living room has a double French doors at each end – front door opening up to a dedicated deck and back door opening up to a fully fenced backyard and leading through to BBQ deck area.

It is easy to keep kids entertained with lots of toys, children games and books available. Your children will absolutely love the outdoor playing area (including play equipment and cubby house) and your pet will stay close to action on the extensive lawn area in front or safely fenced in at the backyard.

Portable cot and high chair are also available on request.

There is off-street parking available.

We are small per friendly and your pet is very welcome. While the backyard is securely fenced the front of the property is unfenced so it is your responsibility to supervise your pet and act responsibly. We do ask you to supply your own pet bedding, pet towels and poop bags and not allow your pet to sit on any furniture. A pet fee applies and will be added to the tariff.

“Serenity” is a great spot and has everything you need for a relaxing break from a city life. All you need to do is ENJOY!

About the destination.

Marios and Patricia’s house is located in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia.

Perfectly secluded, it is the last house on a very private road and is within easy access to the main street of Daylesford (3 min drive or 30 min hearty walk) where you will find amazing restaurants, cafes, art galleries, pubs and more.

The house is located on the edge of the Wombat State Forest providing direct access to walking tracks, leading to nearby attractions such as Tipperary Springs, Picnic Grounds, Twin Bridge. The Mill Market (second hand clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac) and Boomerang Ranch (horse riding) are just around the corner. As the house is literally surrounded by forest, Kangaroos regularly visit the property.

Daylesford is about a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne. If you don't have a car, you can still easily reach Daylesford by train (V-Line).

The town is known for many award winning restaurants, cafes, wineries and bakeries. There are farmer’s markets where you can buy excellent local produce, and if you are driving or touring the area you will be able to visit wineries and farms that sell their own products direct.

The area is also known for its many lovely walks and hiking tracks suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. Lake Daylesford in just a few minutes’ walk south of the town centre, as is Wombat Hill Botanical Garden which offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Jubilee Lake – near town, is a scenic spot ideal for fishing, boating and swimming.

Transportation tips.

The best way to get to our house is by car. The local taxi service is excellent. If you prefer to head into town on foot, it will be hearty 30 min walk via bush.

There is off street parking available at the property.

Wood Supply

We have provided complimentary wood for your stay. As this is not the only form of heating in your property, join us in preserving the environment and burn responsibly.

Rear living area deck – sitting arrangement

The second living area includes ample of sitting options including 2 x 2 seater couches, 2 large sofa chairs and 2 convertible chair/ottoman bean bags. The bean bags are for indoor /outdoor use. While they are set up to use indoor, feel free to take them out onto adjoining deck to sit and relax under the Daylesford sky.

BBQ

Feel free to use the BBQ, but please clean it before you check out. BBQ cleaning fee of $25 will apply if you do not comply with this house rule.

Pets

Your fur children are also welcome inside the house for a fee per stay, however pets are not allowed on the bed or furniture. Any damage caused will be charged to the guests. In addition to the pet fee a pet bond may be required to be paid for 7 days prior to check in and will be fully refunded if the property has not incurred additional cleaning costs. Please also ensure that you bring all pet beds, blankets and poop bags and you pick up after your furry friend.

Walking from the car to the front of the house.

The walking path has number of large stones arranged along the path. At night the area is well lit, however please be mindful and watch you step to ensure you can safely arrive to the house avoiding any incidents.

Beautiful house with lovely bush views!

This was such a lovely place to stay for our girls weekend! It was so lovely to arrive to the fire going and a beautiful house with everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay! We loved the beautiful bush views! Would definitely recommend this to everyone and would love to come back again some time with my dog😊

Cosy, comfortable and tranquil

Our family had a lovely time at Serenity. The house was very clean, beautifully set out and furnished. The kitchen was well equipped, beds very comfy, and the extra touches added for our comfort were lovely. We enjoyed sitting outside taking in the serenity, and our Labrador loved his many walks amongst the forest. Thank you Marios we had a wonderful stay.

Serenity is exactly how you see it in the pictures. Lovely and quiet with fresh air.

We had our first ever girls weekend getaway. Decided to go with Serenity as we like a quiet secluded home but also not far from town. The place was clean very neat and tidy. Everything we needed was provided. Large living areas and very comfortable. Would have loved to stay more nights but duty calls and we need to get back to reality.

We managed to lock ourselves out of the house as we headed to dinner! Contacted the host, Marios to help us get back in. He didnt reply straight away which kinda freaked us out about what we were going to do next. Thankfully Marios contacted us back during dinner so we were lucky to have him send someone to open the door for us! Other than that...it was an awesome experience. We had a lovely time thank you Marios for letting us stay at Serenity!

Kookaburras in the forest

A wonderful place to stay - relaxing ajnd peaceful - and with a choir of kookaburras! We enjoyed Serenity, an excellent house, clean and all facilities needed. Our dog fitted in well, it is so good to find somewhere easy to travel with a dog. The owners are very friendly and helpful, checking to make sure that we were settling in well. We love the region, so much to do, great food and good walking.
