Moontide 707 Condo
The location of the condo and the proximity to the no-drive beach were wonderful. The property was nice and the balcony view exceptional. The condo had a well equipped and undated kitchen, and mostly comfortable furniture. What was missing were some of the beach touches. We flew to the area so there was a limit to what we could bring on the plane. I was surprised there were no beach toys and the only outside chairs were 2 large, heavy, and rusted lounge chairs. I would think the condo owner would have provided lightweight portable beach chairs. The bed pillows in the master bedroom also need to be replaced and more pillows would have been welcome. Only having one access key card for beach and unit access did not seem enough for a unit that can accommodate six individuals. Overall a nice unit but attention to some of the mentioned details would improve the stay. P.F. Maine

So disappointing!
1. Dishwasher broken, wand off, we fixed.
2. All beds made noise when we
Moved during night. Topper on top of box springs.
3. Bugs in corner of ceilings and under drapes.
4. Lawn furniture on deck was dirty and full of mildew.
5. Bathroom door lock broken.
6. Closets had mildew smell.
This was our 50th wedding Anniversary celebration and we were
VERY disappointed. I think it would only be fair if we got at least half of our money back. We are not rich people. This easy way overpriced!

Summer in the Sun
We were late booking our 4th of July at the beach (booked 3 days before we were to arrive), so a lot of places were already full. Fortunately, we were able to find a place at the Moon Tide. The condo was in great shape. well furnished and very clean. Would rent this place again. Only issue was elevators didn't always work, or were very slow (it was 4th of July and very full) and parking was a bit of a challenge. Had to find a place to park. Otherwise a great palce.
Hello Phil,
Thank you so much for your review! We are so glad to hear you were able to find a good unit days before you were to arrive. We are sorry to hear about the elevators, but as you said it was indeed very packed during 4th of July. Please stay with us again soon to utilize your return guest discount!

our review
The view was great , security & the people at moontides were pleasant. For starters when I booked this unit condo. It showed a king suite & double bed with single bed in 2 room. Has only king suite & 2 single beds..Main bathroom got stuffed up 2 times, the condo itself at arrival wasn't as clean as we expected seeing as they charge for a cleaning service. We left it cleaner then when we arrived & also was charged for cleaning service. This unit is definitely over priced. Shows better in photos then in person. My family & I were happy to be able to be together & had a great ocean view. But will explore other units & condo on our next visit in a few months..
Hello Diane,
We thank you for your feedback and are glad to hear your family had a good time together. We do apologize for the unsatisfactory clean. We have a clean guarantee and if you had called we would have been happy to have the cleaner return to get it to a more satisfactory condition. We would love the opportunity to find you another vacation home in New Smyrna Beach and will waive the cleaning fee should you find one that fits your family’s needs on a return visit.
Thank you,
The Great Ocean Team
Location
About New Smyrna Beach
Located on Florida’s east central coast, New Smyrna Beach is a quiet seaside retreat at the southern mouth of Ponce de Leon Inlet. It is a small, historic city, and yet offers 13.2 miles of beach to enjoy. At only 55 miles northeast of Orlando, it serves as a favorite get-a-way destination for many Central Florida residents and has garnered significant notoriety as a surfing destination, often hosting American Surfing Professionals’ competitions. Surfers can bring their own equipment or rent from the numerous surf shops along the beach. New Smyrna Beach is the second oldest town in Florida and what many call “the old Florida of yesterday.” Quaint shops on historic Flagler Avenue and friendly folks are what New Smyrna Beach is all about. Through the years, the City of New Smyrna Beach has maintained tight controls on growth, resulting in a limited number of low-rise condominiums being constructed. The city has also held strict parameters on beach traffic which, in addition to protecting beach goers, simultaneously protects nesting sea turtles. It is a nesting ground for loggerhead sea turtles, and Florida’s loggerhead population is the largest in the nation.

New Smyrna Beach Festivals
The downtown historic district, on Flagler Avenue, is the perfect location for a number of festivals throughout the year. The New Smyrna Beach Food Festival happens every April, offering a tasting of the beach’s best food and drink. The Cinco de Mayo celebration in May is a family fun time with live music and dancing in the streets. In August, the Shrimp and Seafood Festival begins, featuring tons of seafood as well as a display of unique arts and crafts. Jazz lovers come in the droves for the city’s annual Jazz Fest in September, featuring live music on street stages and in local venues around New Smyrna Beach.
New Smyrna Beach Museums and the Arts
The Atlantic Center for the Arts is the backbone of the lively New Smyrna Beach arts scene. The arts center has received great recognition for its eco-friendly design. The complex of buildings houses art exhibitions, performances, and is home to an artist-in-residence program. There are several art galleries in the downtown New Smyrna Beach area, such as Florida Galleria and TaDa Gallery which showcase works of local artists. The city is home to the Black Heritage Museum which has a collection of artifacts that date back to the 1920s.
New Smyrna Beach Parks and Recreation
Not only is there plenty to do on the beach, the New Smyrna Beach area includes many parks which offer camping, fishing, hiking, and other activities. Lake Ashby Park, a 64 acre waterfront park, offers many outdoor activities such as primitive camping, fishing, canoeing, horse trails, sport courts, and a boat ramp. Smyrna Dunes Park is 73 acres of land giving visitors of New Smyrna Beach the opportunity to view wildlife and sand dunes up close and personal. The park features elevated walkways, picnic areas, observation areas, and a pavilion.
