This exotic mountain retreat is a superb expression of modern Australian country architecture and displays perfect site-sensitivity to take full advantage of a stunning outlook. Positioned on a 5659m2 parcel of land, it incorporates a full-length, north-facing veranda and fabulous covered deck, with amazing views across bushland and out to distant mountains.
The sunny interior is a stylish blend of exposed brick wall, beautiful timber panelling and rafted ceilings with contemporary white plasterboard, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. A spacious open-plan living and dining area features a slow-combustion fire and brick hearth as a wonderful centrepiece, and leads directly from a fully equipped kitchen.
There are four double bedrooms with built-ins, including a luxurious master with walk-in robe and en-suite. The lower level of this expansive home features a fifth bedroom with en-suite, plus private access to a large paved yard area. An enormous under-house storage space provides further convenience and flexibility, as does the double lock-up garage as a second storage facility. Centrally ducted heating ensures year-round comfort.
The Lyrebird Lodge is the perfect natural getaway, sitting atop a mountain ridge with soaring views into the untouched valley and mountain range below. With the backyard descending into the Australian bush, put on some boots and explore the native plants and animals of the region. Keep quiet and you may encounter some of the many local lyrebirds of the property’s namesake, but don’t forget to follow the appropriate safety procedures of bushwalking listed below!
The property also offers a humble yet stunning front garden. A 50 year old free-standing ivy vine in the shape of a mushroom is the garden’s centrepiece, while various Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Camellias grace the area. Also of particular botanical interest are some stunning native Banksias, flowering apples, a 60 year old multi-branched treefern and a highly scented Port Magnolia hedge that sweetens the air every Spring.
The village centre of Wentworth Falls with its diverse antique shops and cafes is just a leisurely 15-minute-walk away. The local hotspots: Leura Village, the Everglades and Leura Cascades, are just an easy 5 minute drive away. Katoomba is 10 minutes away, with its many tourist attractions such as the world-famous Three Sisters, Echo Point, Scenic World and of course the bush walking tracks.
A mere 90-minute-drive from Sydney, this unique property is the perfect gateway to explore and enjoy everything the magnificent World Heritage Blue Mountains area has to offer.

In Autumn and Winter, warm outdoor clothing is advisable. Temperatures can be up to 10 degrees cooler than Sydney temperatures.
The maximum number of people which can be accommodated is 12 people. We reserve the right to evict guests, without refund, if this number is exceeded.
Bushwalking safety precautions:
Always walk with at least 3 people, in the case of an emergency where one person should remain with the injured individual while the other gets help.
Check weather forecasts before walking and do not walk during rainy and windy weather, and especially not after storms, due to the danger of falling branches.
Bring plenty of water, snacks and a first aid kit.
Wear enclosed shoes, preferably hiking boots.
Avoid stepping in areas where the ground is not visible, due to the danger of hidden holes and snakes.
Wear insect repellent to repel ticks, mosquitoes and other biting insects.
Finally to help preserve our beautiful bush, please be respectful and bring all rubbish back with you. Where possible, avoid stepping on plants, breaking branches and disturbing the leaf litter, to protect our native flora and fauna!
