|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Your very own Saugatuck secret getaway. Trust me, you'll tell no one of your new discovery, this private, pleasure place. Of course, friends will want to know where you found a renovated, 12-acre farmhouse just a mile from town and a five-minute drive to the beach. BUT damned if you're saying a word. After all they don't need to know THE ZOO offers the best of both worlds... the private, RUSTIC, country setting with star-filled nights or the crowds awaiting you in town by foot, bike or car. Morning coffee on the front lawn and drinks around back at the fire pit. Long country walks, shopping in town or days and sunsets at the beach. You decide.
Nothing fancy, just fun. Nothing beats your Daze at The Zoo.
Secluded yet close to the action. Nights around the firepit gazing at the stars is the best way to end your day.
This quirky cottage was a great setting for my friends to have a mini college reunion during or friends wedding weekend. Barb had many great suggestions and had we been there longer we would have explored even more. Although the bedrooms don't have a ton of privacy, what it doesn't lack is space to hang out and catch up. We took advantage of the bonfire outside and the many areas with open windows to sit and eat food and play games together. Thanks for a great stay!
Our group rented the home for a weekend away and it did not disappoint! Barb was super easy to communicate with and super helpful! The house was homey and while its not in town its not too far out - it was nice to have space to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The house is clean, well stocked and beds were comfy. I'd certainly rent this home again!
I stayed at "the Zoo" for the 4th of July holiday weekend, it was a blast! There were six of us in the house, lots of room to spread out. The house is quaint and rustic, and our group really liked its location outside of town in the countryside (at the same time, not far from town). We especially enjoyed the outdoor scenery and fire pit that we used every night. Smores, campfires, and fiddle tunes made it a memorable weekend. The house was comfortable for everyone and we cooked several amazing dinners in the kitchen (everything that we needed was there). Our group had a peaceful and relaxing holiday weekend and would recommend the Zoo if you're visiting. Barb was always helpful and gave us some great tips for visiting local spots. We especially liked the New Richmond Bridge which Barb told us about, great little spot!
The place is not fancy but has tons of space for larger groups. Although, farther from town, it was great for our needs because of the kids. We had a BBQ, bon fire, set off fireworks and made smores. There was separate spaces for the kids and the adults. Great Fun!
Liked the more private location but still a short drive into town! The front porch was our absolute favorite part of the house! We enjoyed sleeping out there with the windows open and that is where we spent most of our time! Kitchen was also well equipped for all the food prep we did. Fire pit area was nice and plenty of bug spray was already there for us. The owner was very hospitable even recommending nearby places to see and restaurants. The house was very comfortable with lots of fans and open windows. Living room can be closed off and air-conditioned if need be, but we didn't use it. My friends and I stayed for my Bachelorette weekend. We were surprised when we walked in by balloons, music, and wine already waiting for us! Fun was had by all!
The house is just as described by the owner. She gave me so much information about the house ahead of time! I really enjoyed learning the history of the house! The house came with just about everything you would need, plus more! It made easier to pack for the trip!
There was plenty of room for my two children, ages 4 and 2, to run around and explore! There is a tv with satellite and a DVD player, but it was hardly on. There is an outside area for campfires, which we utilized! There was plenty of room to sleep as well. Even though there was no air conditioning, there were plenty of fans that worked just fine!
The owner also gave suggestions of restaurants and activities to do while we were here. I'm pretty sure we tried all of them! All great suggestions! It was a great time for my family!
