Great place to stay. We loved it and so did our dog 🐶

  • 5 of 5

This is by far the best dog friendly accommodation we have stayed in. We all loved it.

Russ and his wife were very friendly and accommodating. Everything was as described and looked like in the pictures. We loved the little extra touches, from the welcome bottle of wine, fresh eggs, milk, bread etc and even something for the furry companion.

We will definitely be back again.

My daughter and I had the most fantastic experience staying at MacBurn Pet Friendly Cottages. We took our horses for the weekend and had the best time, even though the weather was horribly cold. We competed during the day, and came back to a warm homely cottage, and a paddock for the horses. We were especially grateful for the cosy fire. Russell was super handy, helping me fix the float plug for my car. A beautiful property and very friendly, generous owners. We will be back next year. Thanks

Perfect place to stay in Mount Gambier if traveling with your dog!

  • 5 of 5

It was so hard finding somewhere to stay in Mount Gambier that we could have our dog stay with us, so glad we found this place. We had to go out in the evening and leave our dog behind but was well equipped with a private secure yard and oversized kennel to use. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in the bush

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay with fantastic hosts. It suited our desire for our dog to stay with us but still be close to Mt Gambier.

Well setup and very clean for a holiday with the dog. They even supplied some dog requirements! Very safe fenced yard and quiet environment just outside of Mt Gambier. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Macburn Cottages, top accommodation. Clean comfortable and self-contained, great location. Quiet country retreat yet only 8 minutes from Mt Gambier. If you have a pet like we did highly recommend having your next weekend/holiday here.

Car: recommended

Come and enjoy the serenity. The cottages are set in a quiet rural setting, not to far from town, with plenty of birdlife and some farm animals that can be hand fed by the kids. A lot of nice walks in the area, which goes well with the clean fresh air and peace and quiet.

In the town of Mount Gambier you will find everything you might need , it is the second biggest city in South Australia and also one of the oldest with some lovely old buildings.

There are a lot of limestone caves in the area for the adventurous, some are right in the middle of town. The Umpherston sinkhole is also a must see when visiting the area

The beach is only 30 km from town and is a rugged though beautiful limestone coastline, providing endless fishing opportunities.

The Blue Lake is a must see also, it is in town and is actually the town water supply but it sits on top of an old volcano, (which is "Mount Gambier") and is a brilliant blue colour, especially when the sun is out or in the summer months, still well worth a look in the winter months though.
