My wife and I have just finished a wonderful stay at this property. Considering it's literally a minute walk to Place des Voges, and just a few minutes to Bastille or Saint-Paul station, the value is excellent. You could spend a week just walking the local streets in Le Marais and never venture further into the city. There are cafes, galleries, shopping, gelato all outside your door. It's a few minute walk to the old Jewish section on Rue des Rosiers, where you'll find the best falafel in the city.
Vicky was a great host, who worked hard to accommodate our early arrival and helped answer several questions for us. The apartment is small and simple, which is just fine for those looking for location over luxury. There is an ample kitchen with a stove, microwave, toaster and small refrigerator which provided us everything we needed. The wi-fi worked fine. The windows look out into a quiet courtyard so you are not bothered by any street noise at all. Note, there is one flight of stairs to walk up but they are wide and were not a problem with our luggage.
Overall, we're very happy with our stay.
A brief note of thank you for providing Fredi and I an opportunity to live as Parisiennes for a few brief days. We trust the cleaner found everything in order as it was our intent to treat your apartment as our own. By the end of our stay, we looked forward each evening to returning to our "home" away from home and our very comfortable beds.
This was our first, in four trips, Paris apartment experience. I believe our experience in your apartment spoiled us; we may never book a hotel room in Paris again. The location, equally located between Metro Bastille and Metro St.-Paul, was ideal. The kitchen was convenient, but underutiized. Being on holiday, we did not attempt any serious meals. However, having a microwave and fridge made our acquisitions of bakery items, fruit, yogurt, coffee, wine, etc. a big plus, especially with Votre Marché located across the street. Also, being right at Place de Vosges, we ate several meals at Café Hugo. We found the food to be very tasty and appealing and definitely affordable.
Speaking of Votre Marché, we did not get an opportunity to say 'Thank You' again to les hommes at Votre Marché. If you or your son should speak to them, please express our gratitude for everything, especially receipt of our delayed luggage.
Again, merci beaucoup for our Parisienne experience,
My husband and I just recently spent 2 weeks in this apartment. We have stayed in several other apartments in Paris before and this was our favorite. It has old world charm. It is in a very convenient location with 2 metro stops, a Monoprix, several cafes and patisseries and some wonderful restaurants very close by. In addition, there is a fruit stand/small grocery store almost directly across the street. The apartment itself was very clean and well-maintained with an extremely comfortable bed and good closet space. Plus I loved sitting in the window seat and "watching the world go by".
For others my only concern would be if you are a light sleeper like I am. In the winter the windows and the doors to the bedroom blocked out the noise from the local bar and restaurant, but in warmer weather when you might need to have the windows open, the noise level might be a problem.
Vicky was wonderful to work with. From the first time that we expressed interest in renting this apartment, she always responded to my e-mails immediately and we were always able to reach her or someone else at the Paris office with any concerns or questions that we had. Thanks to all of you for providing the home base for our wonderful time in Paris.
