Photos and Description of this 6 bedroom holiday estate in Woodstock - Cricklewood Estate

5/6 bedrooms, 3/4 baths, sleeps 10/14 (main house/with studio apartment)

Cricklewood is a 24 acre estate situated off Rt 12 just six minutes from the heart of Woodstock Village, a quintessentially quaint New England Town. Cricklewood offers the best of both worlds. On its grounds you have privacy and tranquility but for a short drive you find yourself in the heart of this charming and friendly village. As you enter the property you climb a paved, gently graded, private driveway which ends at the mountain plateau upon which sits this stately home, with its lovely gardens, rolling hills and mountain slopes. The enormous parking area offers room for many vehicles while the attached, heated, three car garage offers a comfort and luxury seldom found in country homes. The breathtaking views of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Park can be enjoyed from rocking chairs on the large front porch or from the 2nd story loft's comfy couch facing a grand window . Rent just the main house for up to 10 people or add the studio apartment for a party as large as 14!

Outdoor and First Floor Features: The fifty foot mahogany deck in the back of the house provides a grill and outdoor eating area. Also on the deck is a large hot tub, available year round. Soak, relax and enjoy the tranquil mountain slopes and lovely gardens of the back yard. Enjoy the full house sound system from any room in the house or the porch and deck with separate controls for each area. Watch the flat screen television complete with Dish TV 350 channels from the spacious and luxurious family room with plenty of comfortable seating for everyone. Cruise the internet from anywhere in the house with free wireless. The open floor plan allows free flow from the grand entry foyer to the spacious kitchen to the casual eating area and formal dining room to the inviting family room. The kitchen boasts granite counter tops, trash compactor, garbage disposal, European style faucets and sprayers, and a large pantry. Off the kitchen is a hall that leads to a bath and a laundry room connecting to the garage.

Beds and Bath: The large, ground floor bedroom has a queen bed, stunning views and sits across the hall from the downstairs 3/4 bath. Upstairs you will find four comfortable and elegant bedrooms. The sumptuous master bedroom offers a king size bed, panoramic views and a divided master bath with a sunken tub, two sinks, and a shower stall. Off the main hall is a large third bath with a tub and shower. The third bedroom has a queen bed and the same magnificent view. The fourth bedroom has a king bed and tranquil views of the mountain slopes in the back of the house. The fifth bedroom, which is accessed from the fourth, has two twin beds in a quaint gabled room with views. All rooms have built in air conditioners with remote controls. On the far side of the grand stairwell is a loft area with a large comfortable sofa that offers a serene, unobstructed, clear southern exposure view of Mount Tom in the National Park. The apartment boasts a complete kitchen, queen bed, queen pull out sofa, and 3/4 bath.

Helipad and Prime Location For All Interests: For those who wish to arrive at Cricklewood quicker than an automobile can take them, the property boasts its own helipad situated two thirds up the private drive.

If you come to Woodstock to ski then you couldn't find a better location than Cricklewood, which is literally over the other side of the mountain from the Suicide Six Ski resort, a mere four minute drive from the house. Cricklewood is also only a 25 minute drive from the Killington and Okeemo ski resorts. When you return home to the warm garage, with plenty of room to store your gear, and then relax in front of the gas fireplace in the inviting family room you will surely be pleased with your choice of Cricklewood

If you love to ski, mountain bike, hike, hunt, fish, ice skate, or love architecture, art or shopping and antiquing, fine restaurants and history or simply enjoy an inspiring, natural and comfortable environment, Cricklewood is sure to please.

Wonderful rental!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Cricklewood as the base for a wedding in Woodstock. The parents of the bride and groom, along with other family, had the most wonderful of stays at this house. Plenty of room, amenities, and a terrific view. I would not hesitate to recommend this house for a stay in the greater Woodstock area. Loved it!!

Very comfortable stay

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit to Cricklewood. We are a large group and the house works out very well for us. The property is beautiful and the kids have a great time using it for sledding. Proximity to the village is great as well as skiing. The house is kept very clean and well stocked with necessities. We very much enjoy our stays!

Beautiful house but the wifi needs a major upgrade

  • 4 of 5

The house is well-kept and in perfect condition. The owner is kind enough to stock many supplies and sundries. The house functions well and the property manager was helpful for local needs. The only significant criticism, apart from the gas grill that had been left in disrepair (rotted burners) which the owner promised to fix, is the wifi. The wifi seems to be circa 1999. Forget streaming -- we could not reasonably operate our PCs for work-related emails and document attachments.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, your many compliments, and for letting us know about these problematic issues right before you left. We wish we had heard sooner so that we could have addressed the issues during your stay. After being informed, we immediately purchased a new barbecue and had the service provider rectify the internet problem.

Tranquile Beauty

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfectly clean, perfectly appointed, and truly made to be a home away from home. Every aspect was taken into consideration with the house and working with Amalia and Ken was a positive experience. I would highly recommend renting Cricklewood and look forward for a time to rent again.

Perfect for all!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the home for a family wedding and had a large age range. Everyone had a fabulous time! There was so much privacy which was exactly what we were looking for. Fabulous views, great amenities, everyone had their own space. What a great time! We all agreed we would want to rent the house again next year. The smaller kids who were up at the crack of dawn, stayed in the apartment and we couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear us! The caretaker was super friendly and very personable. He was right around the corner if we needed anything. Everything was better than expected. No doubt , we will return!

Perfect house for visiting family members

  • 5 of 5

We had our extended family visiting us for a family celebration and the Thanksgiving holiday. Cricklewood provided the perfect location for many of our family members to stay. In addition to housing the group very comfortably, we were also able to host two family dinners there.

Cricklewood was a perfect solution and we will rent the property again the next time the family gathers.
