Cottage on Gunning is a Heritage listed property built in 1846 and now lovingly restored to offer all the modern comforts whilst retaining the charm and character of a bygone era.
Antique iron beds featuring Lara Ashley bedding are fitted with electric blankets, warm doonas and a choice of pillows. Electric log fires and panel heaters provide adequate heating and are provided in all rooms. Relax in the cosy lounge or dining room or read a book on the chaise lounge in the sunny area off the kitchen. The full kitchen has a large fridge, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans etc. and the pantry is stocked with some useful condiments.
The bathroom features a shower, vanity basin, heated towel rail and also contains a washing machine, dryer and basin. There is a separate toilet next to the bathroom.
An outdoor setting and BBQ on the patio area off the kitchen offers an ideal spot to sit and relax and enjoy a bottle of local wine from one of the many cellar doors in the area.
The historical Richmond Village is a four minute walk and here you will find great cafes, art galleries and shops to browse in.
Hobart airport is a 20 minute drive, Port Arthur is a 1¼ hour drive, MONA Museum is a 20 minute drive and the Hobart CBD a 25 minute drive with Mount Wellington 10 minutes from the CBD making Cottage on Gunning an ideal base to visit all the attractions the southern area has to offer.
