Maggie de Rooy
About Maggie de Rooy
Recently retired, we have made a tree change moving from the coast to Borenore as Maggie is a country girl at heart. Maggie is an accomplished cook and delights in providing her guests with delicious, nutritional breakfasts using local seasonal produce. Her 'wicking' garden provides a great range of vegetables and the herb garden delicious seasoning and flavours. She also delights in her pets, one cat, two ducks, six, chooks, three alpacas and two sheep. You may want to help feed the alpacas and sheep.
Maggie de Rooy purchased this Bed And Breakfast in 2017
Why Maggie de Rooy chose Borenore
Our retirement dream was to build a country home and B&B on a small rural holding. We found a beautiful 2.5 hectare block at Borenore which allowed us to start with a clean slate and design build house, B&B and grounds.
What makes this Bed And Breakfast unique
Gindanha, the name of the property, meanings 'laughing' in the Aboriginal language of the local Wiradjuri nation. The B&B is a fully contained separate dwelling in modern country decor. Full kitchen and washing facilities allow you stay as long as you like. There are relaxing country views all round from the outdoor setting on the verandah or the wood fire BBQ patio. The see through splashback behind the cooktop allows you to enjoy the garden view while preparing dinner. High end beds and mattresses will guarantee a peaceful, restful night's sleep. Gindanha is situated in Borenore about a 10-15 minute drive west of Orange in an area renowned for cold climate wines and stone fruit. The two and a half hectare property is nestled between to working beef/sheep farms. Nearby you can visit Mount Canobolas, Lake Canobolas or the Borenore Kast (caves). The city of Orange boasts 54 cafes as well as fine dining, farmer's markets, a theatre, cinema and art gallery.
