This modern luxury apartment, finished in 2006, comprises 3 separate bedrooms: one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one bunk room, and is ideal for 6 people. There's a large living / dining / kitchen area with access to the partially-covered south-west facing balcony, a bathroom with bath and shower and a separate WC. There's also a ski locker and an underground private lockable garage for your vehicle or mountain bikes.

Châtel is a traditional Alpine village with a consistently good snow record due to the micro-climate around Mont Blanc and Lac Leman. Châtel is also a major Ski Resort in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area which includes Avoriaz, Morzine and Les Gets. Our apartment is in a quiet location, yet only 100m from the Super-Châtel gondola, and 100m from the resort centre with restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets.

The apartment is well equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, washer/dryer, iron, UK Satellite TV, DVD Player, Radio/CD, and free WiFi internet.

How to find us:

By Plane: Geneva Airport is only 80km away

By Train: there are stations at Thonon-les-Bains in France (SNCF), and Trois Torrents, Aigle or Monthey in Switzerland (SBB).

Our local manager can arrange transfers on request.

By Car: there are two routes into Châtel, either via Thonon-les-Bains in France, or via Monthey in Switzerland. Châtel is around a 50 minute drive from Thonon, and a 30 minute drive from Monthey.

Driving from Calais you can usually get to Châtel in around 9 hours. Our suggested route is motorway from Calais to Besançon, Pontarlier, towards Lausanne, Montreux, Monthey, Morgins, and Châtel.

We had a great time skiing, the snow was better than we expected, with all the slopes remaining open for the whole week. The children all became quite proficient, sadly Andrew and I not quite so quickly!



We loved Chatel and having your apartment was great, the location to the buses, shops and gondola, is just great. A long walk is the last thing you need at the end of the day. The apartment was clean, tidy and practical. To manage enough hot water for showers for everyone is quite impressive.

Great Apartment In A Great Lication

We booked the apartment for a long weekend when taking part in the Passportes Du Soleil event.

The apartment is perfectly located with only a short walk / bike ride to the centre of Chatel and to the Super-Chatel lift.

The garage was perfect for storing our bikes and gave us ample space for undertaking post ride mechanicals.

The three bedrooms, while not massive, were more than enough for our needs and the kitchen area was perfectly adequate for the two of us.

There's a very useful heated towel rail in the bathroom, which came in very useful for drying bike shoes and bags!

Outside, there is a large balcony with table and chairs, which overlooks the town and provides the perfect location to watch the night sky or distant thunder storms on one of our nights.

All in all a great apartment in a fantastic location, which I'll be more than happy to use again when biking in the region.

Great place to stay

Perfect situation in the middle of Chatel near the gondola lift. (Slight uphill walk but nothing too challenging..if you can ski you can manage this 😃 ). The local Manager was very helpful, getting our passes all ready for us ahead of our arrival. It was a little damp on our first day but the apartment has many good radiators that helped us dry our stuff. The apartment was perfect for us..we were a party of 4 adults and two young children. Perfect for us also as we could only manage a short break this year. With a short flight to Geneva and a short transfer to Chatel we managed a full afternoons skiing on our first day. We would definitely go back to Chatel and this apartment.

Great location

This is a great apartment due to the location being so close to Super Chatel lift and the centre of Chatel itself. The living area of the apartment is spacious and comfortable with access to a large balcony with fabulous views down the valley. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The local agent was also great and provided all we needed for our young family. We will certainly be returning.

Modern living in a central location

This is the third time our 'lads' skii group have stayed at Les Armoises in January, and there are a few good reasons why we choose it if available. Its clean, modern and well appointed accomodation is ideally situated just 100m up the hill from the centre of Chatel.Free wifi enables us to keep in touch with the UK and there's plenty of room to relax on sofa and chairs. There's no need for a car once at the village and so our transfer to and from Geneva airport is all we need. Super Chatel lift is a few minutes walk down hill and the bus station, with regular free transport to Pres La Joux just 15 mins up the valley, is only 5 mins walk away - also down hill. Hire your skiis from Vincent Sports opposite the bus station and their skii deposit takes any strain out of lugging equipment around the village. Bar La Godille and the restaurants La Pierrier and Le Fiacre are also just at the bottom of the hill - our favourite haunts over our 5 days in the village. Arriving and leaving is easy with Andy, the appartment manager who meets us on arrival with keys and sorts out any minor issues if they arise. All in all it's good value for money for a small but well located flat. It suits our needs to a tee.

Perfect. As described.

A comfortable, modern and well-equipped apartment. Great location only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Chatel and the Super-Chatel gondola. Nice balcony with stunning views across the valley.

There is secure garage parking under the apartment block, although it's quite steep and tight getting in and out, especially in an estate car and after snowfall.

Châtel is a traditional French alpine village and is also part of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski regions in Europe, covering 12 resorts including Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets in France and Champéry, Torgon and Morgins in Switzerland.

In all it has over 400 miles of ski slopes.

Châtel is one of the premier mountain-biking/VTT areas, with lifts open during the summer for walkers and bikers alike. You can also enjoy horse riding and pony trekking, paragliding, thermal baths, windsurfing and boating on Lake Geneva, trips to the nearby Olympic Museum, Water Parks, the Cailler Chocolate Factory (a personal favourite) and Historical Geneva, to name but a few.

Ski: Châtel is a traditional French alpine village and is also part of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski regions in Europe, covering 12 resorts including Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets in France and Champéry, Torgon and Morgins in Switzerland. In all it has over 400 miles of ski slopes with 208 lifts all accessible using a single, inclusive ski-pass. Châtel itself offers free buses to the lifts, a cheaper Châtel area ski-pass, a south-facing snow park for boarders and a specific beginners area. It's possible to ski back to the apartment block (off-piste).
