Situated on the edge of Zone 1, close to two Tube stations and with frequent buses to Waterloo, Westminster and beyond, it is the perfect base for a vacation exploring London.

Both Tube stations are a 10-minute walk away, or take the bus and be at Tate Britain, Big Ben, or Westminster Abbey in 10-15 minutes!

The house is situated in a safe, quiet, residential street and with space to spread out and relax (a scarce commodity in most London holiday apartments) it is perfect for families, couples, or larger groups. On quiet nights you can even hear Big Ben strike and the River Thames is just a short walk away.

The new American Embassy is being built nearby, very close to the impressive MI6 building.

Please note that this is a traditional British semi-detatched house, not an apartment. You occupy the whole house, so no noisy neighbours above, or below!

There is a very large Supermarket (which is open until 11.00pm every night) just 5-minutes away, plus cafés, delis and restaurants, all within easy reach. There are also two gyms nearby to work off the calories.

The property has recently been totally refurbished and is supplied with everything you'll need to make your stay stress free and comfortable and cut down on your luggage.

There is a small, but fully-loaded kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge/freezer.

Upstairs, are two large bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed and remote-controlled ceiling fans, a smaller bedroom with full sized bunk-bed and a family bathroom with bath tub and power shower.

Downstairs there is a shower room, a lounge with double sofa bed, ceiling fan and flat screen TV and a dining room (seats 8) leading out to a patio garden.

Baby cots and inflatable beds can also be supplied on request. The house is centrally-heated and double-glazed.

Linens, towels, bathrobes and 2 hairdriers are supplied.

The house sleeps 8 adults (in beds/sofabed, plus we can provide 2 extra cots for infants)

For relaxing at night, a selection of DVDs and Xbox 360 games are available (please ask, as we like to offer age appropriate films and Xbox games), as well as books and games.

Free Wi-Fi is available. Also supplied are two pay-as-you-go phones for you to use during your stay.

Some basic food stuffs to get you started are included, such as tea, coffee (instant, decaff and filter), milk, bread, eggs, butter, cooking oil, olive oil and condiments.

If you would like us to have your own shopping ready for you when you arrive we can arrange that for a small fee of £10, or you can order it online and have it delivered and we will put perishables in the fridge.

If you have any special requirements, please let us know and we will do our best.

Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is 10 a.m.

If you are arriving early, we can look after your luggage until check in time, so you can fit in some sightseeing.

We try to be as flexible as possible with arrival and departure times.

There is a total no smoking policy in the house, but guests may smoke in the garden.

Daily Parking Permits can be arranged, the current cost is £5 per day.

We are nearby, so always on call for any queries.

Great homey place close to so many things!

We loved staying at Bev and Jeff's place, very easy to walk to Vauxhall Station and along the Albert Embankment. Comfy house (even in the horrible heat wave, thanks to the floor fans!) and Jeff and Bev were always available to help us Americans adapt. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

Lovely accommodations in Lambeth

Our family of five stayed in Jeff and Bev's rental property for five nights. The house was well cared for. Jeff and Bev have thought of everything a family would need to make a vacation stay complete down to the paper towels and food in the kitchen to the shampoo and bath products. Hair dryers were also a nice touch along with the power adapters throughout the home. Umbrellas, cell phones and oyster cards were also available for use. The pictures depicted are accurate. A new tube station is being built near the home but will not be ready for a while. In the meantime, a short bus trip to central London was quite doable or one could hop over to the Vaux Hall tube station by bus for another option. Thank you Bev and Jeff for making our stay comfortable.

Perfect Stay!

We had the pleasure of staying in this excellent residence for 4 nights and were so pleased with our choice. We were a party of 5 adults getting together for a small family reunion, and Jeff and Bev's rental surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed the full kitchen and dining room, which more than fit the bill for our group. The delicious food that was provided on arrival was much appreciated. We used the cell phones and Oyster cards that were provided and this was very convenient. The unit was spotless, the main beds were comfortable and the living area was spacious for visiting together. Location was excellent with easy access to metro and bus lines. We also enjoyed strolling along the river Thames with its many sites, easily accessible by foot. There are many restaurants and pubs to choose from in the surrounding area. Jeff and Bev are excellent hosts who provided exceptional customer service and information both before and during our stay. Thanks Jeff and Bev for the great stay! Highly recommend this rental.

Exceeded expectations in every way; the epitome of the "home away from home" experience we wanted

Our party was 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 kids (ages 2.5 and 5.5). We stayed for 10 nights and LOVED having such a comfortable home base. The location was so perfect, and it wasn't too time-consuming for us to come "home" for a mid-day recharge, and then head back out for more sightseeing. The home was just big enough for our group to gather together without feeling too crowded, but also had sufficient private space for each of us to "get away" from each other. Very clean, comfortable beds, sufficient water pressure and hot water in the showers, super fast wifi. The provided bread, jam, bacon, eggs, and tea got us all off to a nice start.

Check-in and check-out was so nice -- Jeff & Bev even came over at 5am to hang out with us while we watched for our airport taxi to arrive. Bev & Jeff were so knowledgeable about the area and accommodating with our special requests. We felt like we were among friends.

Here are a few of the perks that made this home such a good fit for us:

(1) Oyster Cards for accessing the public transit system. Oyster Cards are typically £5 each, plus your route fees. Jeff & Bev have a stash of Oyster Cards for guests to use, saving you the initial £5 set-up fee. The bus routes that run near this location are ideal for London tourists! For most of our sightseeing, we didn't have to transfer buses or ride the tube.

(2) TOYS! I don't recall seeing a note about the toys in previous descriptions or reviews, but there is a small treasure trove of London-themed toys under the stairs. My kids really loved playing with the toys during our downtime at the house. We also appreciated the provided stroller. We didn't use it a lot, but it came in handy for walking to neighborhood restaurants.

(3) UK-to-US adapters provided, so we didn't need to use our own.

(4) Two local cell phones, which were handy for contacting Jeff & Bev, staying in touch with each other when we separated, and also for making local calls to confirm reservations. Between these provided cell phones and the super fast wifi, we never had to activate our personal cell phones to use international data (saving us $20 a day!)

We loved our London trip, and truly felt "at home!"
