'Oceanside Isle' has only 12 units nestled among the mangroves just south of Islamorada. It overlooks the Long Key State Park, the view is of swaying palms and turquoise ocean. Our unit, decorated in tropical pastels, has a reserved slip in the protected boat basin for a boat up to 30'. Boat rentals, bait, supplies etc., are available at local marinas. There are many excellent restaurants within 10 minutes, as well as shopping and other 'Keysey' attractions, like swimming with the dolphins, or watching the sunset to the tune of the steel drums.

Fishing and diving on pristine reefs are minutes away by boat. Charters and guides are available. You will see them, from the living room, on the bonefish flats and in 'tarpon alley' every morning with the spectacular sunrise. Absolutely no wave runners or jet-skies are allowed. The stereo has Jimmy Buffet on Pandora, just turn it on and let the parrot head in you take off.

I live in Palm Beach County, FL where I have practiced law for over 35 years. We purchased our Townhouse in Oceanside Isle in 1996. It is our weekend getaway. There is nothing like the Keys for a break from the routine. I park the truck and go everywhere by boat when I'm there. We fish, dive and lobster. We have easy access to reefs, offshore fishing or the back country of Florida Bay. No matter which way the wind is blowing there's always something to do.

Nice location/Dated/Don't Use a Credit Card

Mike was great on the phone with directions to a ramp when we arrived. His directions were that the door would be unlocked when we get there - which wasn't the case so make sure you to get the code to the key storage on the door before your arrival.

Also he seemed surprised that credit card companies charge him processing fees; and decided to take that out of my security deposit (not cool); which one would figure he would include in the rental rate since it is nearly $2k to rent the place for a week; so make sure you figure in that in addition to the fees you are paying.

The location is about 15-20 minutes to a grocery story and a lot of restaurants; which was a bit far for us, but the fishing location is great.

Good: Very large property and can comfortably fit a family of 5-6. There is a boat slip for an additional amount and there is a marina across the street for launching for about $18 (I would do at high tide) & get a map to get around to the property if you draft more than 3"; as it wasn't easy to explain from land to the driver on the boat. Master bathroom has been recently updated.

Cons: There is only 2 televisions in the home - one in the family room and one in the master upstairs. The rest of the place is starting to look dated and a bit tired - from the kitchen to the furniture in the living room.

The place was clean - you might want to rent next door in unit #2; they are really nice people and the place is a lot more updated.

Owner's Response: There are inaccurate facts in this review that must be corrected. Although my listing clearly states that there is a surcharge of 2.9% for credit card payments, I did not add that charge to this rental, but absorbed those fees for the full rental charge, taxes and cleaning. Stephanie is referring to the required security deposit of $500. She decided to use her credit card to make that deposit, thus I did not receive $500, but a lesser amount due to the credit card fees. When I returned her deposit by check, it was for the full amount I received. I did not take any money out of her security deposit. We all know that the convenience of using a credit card comes with a price. There may also be some confusion about the extra charges to renters who use a credit card on this website. In this case the guest was charged $125.41 as a "service fee" for paying by credit card. This "service fee" is paid to the website, not the property owner, who must actually pay the fees charged by the credit card company.

very clean, nice amenities

Beautiful property in secluded condo complex. Away from crowds and very convenient. It is located halfway between key largo and key west. Manatees come right up to boat dock for a drink of fresh water. Great view of sunrise. Definitely would recommend this property.

Fabulous Stay

It had been 17 years since we stayed at this complex and i am very pleased to report that it is as well kept as it was back then. This unit was fabulous. Nicely furnished and we enjoyed the photos :). The unit was well kept and very clean (super important to a germaphob like me :)). The views were just stunning; the boating fabulous; words just cant express our pleasure with the unit, the complex and the location. We had a marvelous time. Will definitely be back and hopefully it wont be as long :).

Wonderful Easter Week!

Thank you for allowing us to rent your Long Key property. The property was

beautiful and clean when we checked in and we had no issues whatsoever. The

only issue we had all week was the wind at 15 almost non-stop which limited

our offshore time but we still managed to catch lots of fish. Here in North

Carolina we have to run 50 miles to the continental shelf where it breaks

from 80 feet down to 120 and then 300 feet. There we could see the 5 bridge

and were in 130 feet of water! We managed to tangle with 3 Tarpon at the

bridge on live crabs and got broke off a couple more times and on the patch

reefs the Yellowtails were thick and up to 2 pounds. The diving was awesome

and the kids got to see a variety of sea life including a nice sea turtle

that followed them around when we dove. We will likely return in 2016!
