The house is extremely well furnished and equipped - everything needed for a perfect holidayin a wonderful location. The views are stunning and the owner could not be more helpful and attentive to our requirements.
Visited for a family celebration and found a spotless, spacious, light and airy, cool, fully equipped family house with pristine swimming pool and on-site car parking.
It is located in a Portuguese village with nearby picturesque sandy beaches and dunes with a less severe climate than more southerly destinations.
Within a few kilometres drive there are many interesting off the beaten track, historic towns.
The village is close to a world centre of surfing ... although the sea temperature in June was 'a little' cool.
The fully equipped kitchen doesn't need to be used as there are many superb, Portuguese restaurants nearby, serving local delicacies. Not to be missed.
We loved it !
Villa Laranja is spacious, modern, very tastefully decorated, finished to a very high spec , marvellously equipped and immaculately clean.
The beds are comfy and there are pillows aplenty. The furniture is sturdy the sofas just right for flopping in after a hard day lounging by the glorious pool or sight seeing. Everything feels new and clearly the owners have given a great deal of thought to ensuring their guests' comfort.
This was our first visit to Estramadura and we loved it. There!s plenty to do. The new, fast empty roads which are pleasantly well signposted ( and there was an up to date road map in the villa as well) easily got us to a number of interesting towns- Tomar ( amazing and very beautiful monastery, C15th synagogue, pretty riverside walks) ; Alcobaca ( another fascinating monastery) ; Obidos ( stunning medieval walked town with enchanting alleys and lanes to explore) Entroncamento (Portugese National Railway Museum) , Caldas da Rainha ( with its very useful hourly coach service to Lisbon ).
More locally the lovely beach at Salir is great for relaxing on fine sand. The Tornada river meets the sea here and provides safe river bathing in calm waters which, especially at low tide, are warm. Because the bay is so sheltered it would be a wonderful beach for small children. Our big children ( 20 and 23 ) loved it too , and especially enjoyed the wilder surfers' beaches at nearby Foz D'Arelho too. Parking was never a problem. A traffic free boardwalk takes you at s gentle stroll from tiny Salir to the larger São Martinho full of interesting boutiques , fun bars, good restaurants , a pretty old town and an equally good beach.
We loved the villa, the village, the town and the area. We had s really relaxing and interesting holiday and will most definitely return. Book now!
We hebben 2 weken doorgebracht on villa Laranja.

are booking his 60th birthday for next year.
well furnished, pratical, great views and a short walk to the
beach.well laid out, and a great small bar just opposit the
supermarket what could be better
My family of seven, ranging from mid-twenties to mid-fifties, have had a wonderful week's holiday in Villa Laranja (June 2009.) I could recommend this villa holiday to anybody; with an immaculate, clean and spacious setting, the villa was fully equipped with everything we needed (including masses of lovely towels)- we felt to be in total luxury.
A modern and airy feel about the whole house makes it a perfect setting for gatherings.
If you stay here, do explore the coastal road leading to the beautiful beach at Foz. The supermarket is less than five minutes away by foot, had good opening hours and is well stocked- very handy. A trendy bar decked out as a boat inside was a vibrant hot spot in the centre of Sao Martinho which we enjoyed for evening drinks. However, Obidos is a MUST- a beautiful hill-top village famous for its historic significance- do sample a cherry/chocolate cupped liqueur (or 4.....or 5!) on one of the stunning narrow streets adorned by bougainvillea......delicious and only 1euro each! For those more culturally inclined, Fatima is similarly a must- being a major Roman Catholic focal point. The hospital at Caldas is still to this day visited by people from all over the globe for its healing/Spa qualities- we visited the museum there and had a wonderfully interesting tour round there by an English tour guide.
In total, the villa more than exceeded our expectations and the surrounding area is quite beautiful......a great holiday.
Extreamly well appointed houses in the seaside village of Salir do Porto. Families can enjoy a luxury holiday in a quiete area at the top of a hill. The houses each have large outdoor terraces on the first floor at the front and back of the houses, being able to look over their own pools and the sea, along with excellent pools and gardens on the ground floor. About 8 minutes walk from a safe family beach where the river runs into the sea. A wooden walkway, and bridge to get over the river, are particularly useful for those people with small children in pushchairs. Large Intermarche Supermarket 5 minutes drive away in Sao Martinho and the local supermarket in the village square only 3 minutes walk from the houses. Medieval walled towns, old monastaries, one of the best aquariums in Europe, and marvellous beaches all within easy reach, as are many good restaurants and bars.
