Completed in 2008, Coccoloba really is a sight to behold. A West Indian hip-shaped roof sits above plantation style teak verandahs covering an area of 3420 square feet. In addition there is an enormous pool allowing 54’ laps and providing a stunning 21’ infinity edge. Adjoining the pool is a further 1000 square feet of soft Jerusalem limestone deck. The whole property oozes simple clean lines and open spacious living areas.

Walk through Coccoloba’s front door and the first thing you notice is a breathtaking view of St. Kitts. Thirty two feet of bi-fold glass doors open up from the great room to give unobstructed views across the infinity edge pool, over ‘The Narrows’ and on to St. Kitts. You can even see St. Barts on a clear day! The kitchen and great room are open plan with honed limestone flooring, cypress vaulted ceiling, comfortable soft furnishings and every appliance needed for a modern kitchen. In the Great Room there is also Wi-Fi broadband internet, telephone and a new home entertainment system consisting of 55' Samsung 4k TV, Sony a/v receiver and Definitive Technology 600 ProCinema speakers. We have cable TV and world wide sports channels covering everything you wouldn't want to miss.

Wake up in the king sized teak four poster in the master bedroom and gaze over your feet through the 8’ glass doors at the Atlantic Sea. Turn your head to the left and look through another 10’ opening at the Caribbean Sea and the rising sun lighting up St Kitts. The guest bedroom can be furnished with either a king size bed or two individual beds. Bi-fold doors from this bedroom lead directly onto the pool.

The villa is surrounded on all four sides with beautiful Trinidadian teak decked verandahs. The west verandah is 14’ deep by 72’ long with dining table, sofa, chairs and chaise longue. Watching the sunset from this elevation of 270’ is amazing, especially when you are treated with the famous ‘green flash’. You will also find that the elevation deters the mosquitoes that are usually found at sea level.

The villa appears to hang on the edge of a hill overlooking Oualie Bay. It is set in 33,000 sq ft of landscaped garden at the end of a private road. Sitting back from the main island road and benefitting from the omission of adjoining neighbors, Coccoloba enjoys peacefulness and serenity. Turn off the verandah lights at night and watch the fireflies dance through the Coccoloba (Latin for ‘Seagrape’).

Coccoloba is perfectly located for enjoying the best of Nevis. Lover’s Beach, Oualie Beach, Tamarind Bay, Cades Bay and Pinney’s Beach are all within two miles. A great choice of restaurants including Gallipot, Mount Nevis, Miss June’s, Oualie Beach Hotel, Coconut Grove and Yachtsman’s Grill are also on the doorstep. Oualie Bay provides water sports including scuba diving, yacht charter, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and wind surfing. Take a water taxi over to St Kitts and enjoy a meal at Beach House or Spice Mill. All that Oualie Bay offers within a 10 minute walk.

About Peter & Louise

Louise and I visited the island for the first time in 2006 with a view to placing the island of Nevis in our top ten choices to build a vacation home. Within four weeks we decided we need look no further than Nevis and placed a deposit on a 35,000 sq ft plot.

I am a civil engineer and decided to take a sabbatical in order to pull together my own crew of Nevisians and build the house myself. By the time it was finished in 2008 the island had got it's hooks into me and I never left. Louise joined me and we have made a life for ourselves on the island. We have our own construction project management consultancy and I have a contractors licence on Nevis. Last year I finished the complete rebuild of Paradise Beach Resort to which I am about to add five more beachside pole houses. We have also completed the construction of a series of vacation homes for owners residing in the UK, USA and Canada.

Why Peter & Louise chose Cliftons

We put over a 1000 miles on the clock of our rental in just four weeks on this tiny 36 square mile island. We covered every realtors listing and searched every nook and cranny of the island. Eventually we found the perfect location, high above Oualie Bay overlooking the Narrows and St Kitts yet tight up to the coast line to give unprecedented views - but it wasn't for sale! Some research revealed the owner was in America and had sat on the land for twelve years. A few phone calls later, a deal was struck and the plot was ours!

What makes this villa unique

We are at the end of the private road known as Ridge Road. We have no immediate neighbours so while we are in the thick of the islands best restaurants, activities and beaches we are utterly private, quiet and serene

Incredible Caribbean Vacation!

We just returned home after a fabulous relaxing stay at Coccoloba. The house is situated on a mountainside with breathtaking views of the Carribean Sea, Atlanta Ocean, and St. Kitts. It was spacious and well maintained. The house is surrounded by a luscious tropical garden providing total privacy. The heated infinity pool was used everyday! The kitchen is well equipped for making all meals. We especially enjoyed dining al fresco soaking in our beautiful panoramic view. The bedrooms are very nice with high ceilings and very comfortable beds.

Peter and Louise are the utmost hosts accomadating any and every need. They were a delight to meet and helped us with many reccomendations around the island. They had provided a few essential groceries to get us started and they arranged all transportation to and from St. Kitts. They were always just a text away!

We also saw many monkeys around the property, exotic birds, and we can't forget their 2 friendly cats, Trouble and T.C.

This truly was a unforgettable vacation!

Wonderful Nevis paradise with breathtaking view

Fabulous place! Fabulous island and people. Peter and Louise were fantastic hosts who made everything easy. The house is beautifully designed and constructed and it was so wonderful opening up all the doors so the house and the outside were one space. And it was also refreshing that the landscaping was lush and blended with the architecture so well. Ideal for two couples.

PARADISE

The rainbows, the sunsets, the hummingbirds, the monkeys, the smell of the gardens. This place is heaven on earth! Peter & Louise were absolutely wonderful! If you are looking for peace & quiet, complete and total privacy and a place to decompress this is it! The pictures don't do it justice. We left the house once a day to get out but could absolutely stay put if you really wanted to. Restaurants are not very far away either. Perfect location! Will definitely return!

This is the place to stay!

This house is fantastic and the views are utterly amazing. Everything was clean and very comfortable. A view from every room. Peter and Louise we’re extremely accommodating from arranging transportation to having “the basics” there when we arrived so that we didn’t need to rush to the grocery store. We couldn’t have made a better decision when we choose Coccoloba. Highly recommended!!

Absolutely beautiful

This property sits on a beautifully manicured lot with a view to die for. The pool was perfect and looks as good in person as in the pictures!

The house has great ventilation with the fully folding doors providing refreshing breezes during the day, and there's A/C in the bedrooms if you need it at night. Peter and Louise were so nice, and always available for asssistance if we needed it. We will be back!!

The perfect holiday

Had the most amazing time at this lovely villa! At the top of the steep, rocky road is the most gorgeous house ever, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. The views... breath taking is an understatement. You can see across to St. Kitts and in the distance St. Barths. Lying by the pool - the blues of the pool, the ocean and the sky, the peace and quiet is incredible, so calming. The deck is huge and super comfortable for lounging, with sofas and a chaise but if you'd rather be inside there is a wall of glass doors that open up so that you can still enjoy the amazing views. Peter and Louise are the perfect hosts - able to answer any questions and full of recommendations as to where to eat out, etc. We did venture out for a couple of meals but really, who wants to leave this place?! Cannot recommend it highly enough - you will want for nothing at this special place!
