Catho Pub is a popular spot for meals and entertainment and is a must to see as well as the famous Catherine Hill Bay Jetty.
Caves Beach is another local attraction that is worth seeing while you stay at Raffertys Resort. The beach runs for just 300m to the north to Hams Beach. With well maintained BBQ facilities and picnic areas, Caves Beach is a great family day out.
Swansea is the local township where you can go for your grocery shopping as well as take-away shops and convenience stores. If you want to see more of the area some places we would suggest are Newcastle Anzac Walk, Speers Point Children's playground, Warners Bay for Ice Skating and coffee culture and art work along the walking trails. Charlestown for movies, ten pin bowling and Max Brenner Chocolate shop. If you would like to go for a bit of a drive only 40 minutes takes you to Heddon Greta Drive-in for a wonderful family experience watching movies under the stars. The Reptile Park is also 45 minutes away situated in Somersby where you can see Elvis the Bone Crusher Crocodile and his cousin the creepy crawly snakes and lizards.
If you would prefer walking trails and wildlife spotting there are many walking trails in the area, some quiet easy to manage with concrete paths and others more challenging for the experienced hiker. We are only happy to provide more information on these areas if required.
While in the resort you can walk to Murrays Beach and have a relaxed brunch at the Lakehouse Cafe or enjoy Italian at the onsite EL Lago restuarant.
