'Romance on the Canal' is a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a very quiet listed 1850 building. It is located just in front of one of the larger canals in Bruge. Walk out the door and feed the serene looking swans that live just at the bridge, a 1 minute walk, that leads to the special Artists Quarter and the central square, just a 5 minute walk, if you are not sidetracked by the many art galeries and interesting boutiques along the way.

The apartment is an open plan that surrounds a central patio. The kitchen, hall and bedroom all open with sliding glass doors to the patio area. There is a comfortable queen size sofa bed in the living area. The queen bedroom is very cozy! There is one insuite bathroom with a tub and shower off the bedroom and one half bathroom closer to the living area.

The kitchen is totally equipped with all appliances, large and small, all dinnerware,and picnic supplies. The decor is of high standard.

A Carrefour Express market is just on the other side of the canal, 3 minutes walk. We provide a rolling shopping caddie and canvas eco-friendly bags. Parking can be found easily at Biekorf parking lot. You can unload in front of the apartment and use your gps to direct you to the parking. Very close and 20 euros per day.

There is a pharmacie just across the bridge , 1 minute.

To my surprise, the listing agent did not even mention it was directly on a major canal in Bruges, the Venice of the North.

Big outdoor terrace was a plus for me...love gardening!

Firstly, thank you Dawne for making the booking so easy and pleasant. It really was a pleasure to talk to you on the phone prior to our arrival and you really did make everything very easy. The apartment is stunning and the location perfect for a holiday in Brugge. You are close enough to the center Markt for a leisurely stroll in and far enough to be out of the crowds.

The furnishings are beautiful and to be honest, although the pictures on the internet are lovely, they really don't do it justice. It has everything you could possibly want for on holidays and much more.

We stayed 2 nights (3 people) and there was plenty of room. I would highly recommend this apartment and hope to be back one day.

Lovely canal apartment convenient and comfortable

This apartment is clean and provides everything our family of four needed. It is small but not remotely uncomfortable and the outdoor patio area is really wonderful. There is washer, dryer, and dishwasher - always a bonus when on vacation. There is a grocery store very close by, perhaps two blocks, that has everything you could need for meals. The only unusual things about the apartment is (1) the shower is without a curtain, it is a tub/shower combo - you just have to be careful not to spray water about and no sharing the room when bathing. (2) As others mentioned, the sofa bed is a bit uncomfortable - but it is a sofa bed so. . . . Oh - don't buy ice cream for treats - no freezer with the frig. Owner very responsive and pleasure to deal with.

Better than the photos - very pet friendly

My dog, friend, and I stayed for 10 days. It's got everything you need and the location is perfect - just out of the city centre but within a ten minute walk of anything you want to do or see. We recommend the Brugse Gin Club and the Konigin Astrid Park, an easy stroll from the flat.

Great location and really comfortable

This is a really nice flat that is close to everything we wanted to do or see in Bruge. The owner was very responsive to any and all inquiries we had. The weather was pretty cold when we were there but the flat was nice and cozy. All of the amenities were as expected.

Nice apartment in good location

Good location for walking into the city and only 30 mins walk to the train station. The apartment was pretty and matched the photos as advertised. As traditional Brits we were a little disappointed that no tea or coffee had been provided as with other self catering properties we have rented with Home and Away, but that was a minor matter. Communication with the owner could have been a little better; we had to request entry details and didn’t get a response from two messages we sent regarding check in and leaving luggage.

Perfect Weekend Get Away

The apartment was spacious and open for our 4 member family. It was minutes away from the town center, the windmills and right on a picturesque canal, but far enough away from he tourist center to be peaceful. The small grocery store across the canal allowed for us to have some meals in. The apartment is clean and on the bottom floor. The courtyard was perfect for morning coffee. My only suggestion is if you are using the hide a bed, take the mattress off the frame. The mattress is comfortable but the frame is not. My children were most impressed by the strong wifi signal, the best in any of the hotels we stayed at in Belgium or the Netherlands.

Perfect!

We had an unbelievably nice stay in Bruges, thanks in no small part to Dawne's beautiful apartment. it was cozy and very nicely decorated, but also roomy enough to spread out a bit. The location was perfect for us to walk all around the areas we wanted to see, with some very nice dining options very close-by. We sincerely hope we can return to Bruges one day, and will certainly stay at this place if it is available.
