Merriwarra Cottage is a simple. well designed cottage in an incredibly peaceful and quiet spot on our 40 acre property, Meringo Point Sanctuary. The house is surrounded by bush, but 5 minutes walk to either Mullimburra Beach or to Meringo Beach. The house has three bedrooms, one bathroom (shower only) and two toilets. It has a large open plan kitchen dining and lounge room and a front balcony with bbq and outdoor setting with views across the bush and fields. The house is completely accessible for anyone in a wheelchair with a ramp from the rear access into the house. The house was in fact built for someone in a wheelchair. There are no other dwellings visible from the cottage, just bush, grass and horses in the distance. At night there are no lights at all visible outside the house and no car or human noise at all. Only the sound of the wind in the trees and the ocean. The owners of Meringo Point Sanctuary have established a wildlife covenant on the property and are working to ensure the various habitats across the property are preserved and enhanced for biodiversity values. Thus bookings for guests with pets are not accepted. This house is ideal for anyone wishing a peaceful relaxed nature based holiday in one of the most beautiful spots on the South Coast of NSW. Meringo Point Sanctuary has direct access to secluded and picturesque Mullimburra Beach in the middle of Eurobodalla National Park. The 14 km Bingi Dreaming Track (a National Park walking track) goes along the front of Meringo Point Sanctuary.. The Meringo Lagoon is walking distance from the house both Mullimburra and Meringo beaches have great surf breaks and wonderful walking. Moruya with its wonderful farmers markets is 10 minutes north by car.

Peaceful and Relaxing
A very comfortable cottage with everything you need for an easy, relaxing stay.
I loved watching the kangaroos sunning themselves, in the morning, on the grass area at the front of the cottage.
Easy stroll to lovely walks along the beach and was lucky enough to see a large pod of dolphins splashing past in the sparkling water.
Can't wait to return for another peaceful stay.
Hi Catherine, I am so glad you enjoyed the place as much as we do! Thank you for staying and we look forward to welcoming you again some time.
South Coast charm
We enjoyed our stay in this very roomy house (it is too big to be called a cottage ;) ) Lots of wildlife and a beautiful coastline. You will feel like being in the middle of nowhere but still have easy access to Moruya, Tuross Head and Bodalla for groceries or a drink and a bite. Julie is a great host. There if you need here but invisible for the rest of the time. Well worth a visit!
What a beautiful part of the South Coast!. Meringo and Mullimburra offer pristine beaches, great walks through Eurobodalla National Park and vantage points to watch whales and a rising full moon over the ocean. Very comfy house with everything you need, great view from the verandah. Friendly and helpful owner. Highly recommend for a relaxing break....
Perfect hideaway with all the comforts of home nestled in beautiful surroundings and close to the beach. Meringo is a special gem everyone should experience
A Hidden Wonder
Merriwarra Cottage is a treasure and our favorite seaside retreat. My partner and I have been there 4 times in the past year (April, July, August, and December) and always enjoy the comfort and quiet of the cottage and Meringo Point. We have been there by ourselves, but on two occasions have brought along friends or visiting scholars from the US and Canada. They loved the place, too! I especially like sitting in the living room, reading, having a glass of wine, and tending the fire in cast iron fireplace. The cottage is an easy 5-10 minute walk to two marvelous beaches, and the Bingi Dreaming Track close to the cottage leads to nearby beaches in Congo and below Mulimburra Point. And Moruya with its good stores and farmers market is a short 10-15 minutes away. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the living and dining area very spacious. Just a terrifically relaxing place.....quiet, cozy, convenient, and perfect for a get-away weekend.
A tranquil escape in beautiful country
We have stayed at Meringo Point Sanctuary several times with family visiting from overseas and they have been blown away every time by the beauty and tranquility of this lovely spot. Plenty to see and do in the neighbourhood (swimming, fishing, bushwalking, outings to Tuross Head and Moruya). Or just settle back and read a book while soaking in the natural beauty of the place. Heading back soon. The quintessential rustic beach holiday.
