We got there late after flew in from Kauai. After-hour check in was through the security as there was no front desk personnel available after 7 pm. The security guard was not around; and when he showed up approximately half an hour later, he was quite rude to our group. One of our family member actually thought that he was racist since we are Asian. He was somewhat nicer with the Caucasian couple behind us that got served ahead of us. I think he just an ill-tempered guy with poor customer service and terrible manner!!!

The property managemer finally came to the building to let us in. He was attentive in showing us how to access the doors, the garage and the elevator.

The building and rooms were dated. The floor and staircase carpets were dirty. The drinking glasses, dishes, pot and pans were dirty. The old plasma TV in living room was from the 90s. Furnitures were old and mismatched.

Every room has two beds thus can accommodate large group but not good for couples since not much privacy for each room if sharing bedroom.

The decorations were for rental purposes thus inexpensive decors! The towels were old and look dirty. Tolilets, sinks and bathtubs are dated and barely in working condition.

Not impressed for penthouse.

One of a few positive things about this place is the incredible paranomic views from the master bedroom and the living room balcony with partial ocean view, the skylights, the diamond head, the golf course and the canal.

Other positive aspect of the building is its location which is close to Waikiki beach, restaurants and shopping malls.

They were very strict about check out time. Out by 11 am otherwise you will get additional charges for late check out.

I ran the Hapulua 1/2 marathon on that Sunday am and our flight is not till early evening but we were asked to leave by 11 am.

I would be hesitant to come back to this rental property or recommend it to anyone. We rented this unit in Waikiki this trip because of our large group, and the mis-represented advertisement of “the penthouse.”

Hope this review will help the property management and the building security guard’s employers take notice and make improvement so that future renters won’t have unpleasant experience like our family did.

Great Option for Large Groups

We had 9 people in our group, so our options were quite limited if we wanted to all stay together. I'm so happy I found this place! It is large enough that we never felt cramped. And, to top it off, the location was convenient with great views of the mountains and a small view of the ocean, which was about a 10-minute walk away. The unit was also well-stocked from kitchen items to paper products to beach towels, which was very much appreciated. The beds were also very comfortable.

The unit itself is rather dated, but nice updates have been made to certain areas. It was mostly clean, though my mother mentioned her sheets were wrinkled and didn't smell totally fresh. The jacuzzi tub could also use a deep cleaning or replacement, but as a property owner myself, I understand the logistical challenges of changing out tubs in condos, so I wasn't too bothered by it.

One thing that did bother me was the sliding patio door didn't have a lock so I was constantly worried about my 3-year-old sneaking out there (and falling 38 stories!). I think that should definitely be addressed.

The property manager was a joy to work with. He was very communicative and helpful with questions. The onsite employees at the building were also great.

Overall, this a nice option for large groups, as long as you don't mind trading outdated bathrooms for fantastic views. If we travel with a group to Waikiki again, I would definitely consider staying here once more.

Great location, great view!

My family (there were 6 of us, incluing 2 seniors and a 20 month old) enjoyed our time in the condo. The view was absolutely great and the location was perfect with many good restaurants and a huge variety of shops easily accessible along the bustling sidewalks. The beach, the aquarium and the zoo are within easy (and safe) walking distance.

The condo is adequately furnished and the beds are comfortable. While previous reviews which mentioned the wind whistling through the closed patio doors were true, we found that opening the patio doors a crack solved the problem and we did not find outside noise to be a problem. In addition, we did not find that the condo overheated with the patio doors open - temperature remained very comfortable.

The condo was clean and is adequately furnished and equipped, with all of the equipment working. The building was secure and the area, while bustling, was very safe. We enjoyed our stay.

The location and views were spectacular, plenty enough room for 6 people.

The location and views were spectacular. We felt the place was not as clean as we expected, bathroom floors not vacuumed, tub not cleaned well. The sliders in the living room had to be left open or they whistled loudly. One set of sheets on a bed had holes. I guess we expected a little more for the amount of money we paid. Can’t say enough about the views which we really enjoyed.

Great location, but building is tired and the Penthouse needed repairs

The location was great: close to the beach, great shopping, restaurants and awesome coffee shops.The visit started well as we were greeted by a rep who showed us the apartment, but not the common area (which was understandable later when we checked it out). However, it appeared as though previous tenants had shot a "Hangover X" movie there. The door to the patio would not close and the lock/closing mechanism appeared to have been destroyed. A light outside a bathroom was hanging from wires and didn't work. The bathtub in the Master bathroom needs to be replaced as its so gross that nobody dared use it. The common area on the 7th floor looked very tired and in need of an upgrading. The only time we spent there was the 30 seconds it took to check it out, vowing never to return. But our stay was fine as we didn't spend much time in the room as there was so much to see and do nearby. And the view from the living room was great.
