Blackwood Cottage - Pet Friendly Holiday Stay

Blackwood Cottage is a fully self contained two bedroom cottage set in a natural bush setting.

We offer a secure yard for your pet and yards for horses. Cobboboonee Forest adjoins our property providing many beautiful kilometers of horse trails.

For guests interested in walking, access to the Great South Western Walk is approximately 10 minutes walk away . We are located around 12 kms North West of Portland and have access two beautiful beaches approx. 15 minutes drive away. The beautiful Bridgewater Beach takes around 25 minutes to reach by car.

Blackwood Cottage provides all linen, a comfortable living area with a SMART TV and DVD and Bluetooth Hi Fi. There are a selection of books to read, a mix of cd's, dvd's and a number of board games and cards for your entertainment. A Wood fire warms the cottage in the colder months. Firewood is provided. Reverse cycle air conditioning has also been installed for your comfort and WiFi is available. Netflix is provided at the cottage.

Blackwood Cottage is pet friendly and allows house trained pets access to the inside areas except for the beds. Pet towels are provided.

Blackwood Cottage is non smoking, however there are undercover areas outside on the deck where smoking is allowed.

A Weber Baby Q BBQ is provided on the deck for any guests who enjoy a BBQ or even a roast.

There are many beautiful locations to visit - all within easy driving distance of Blackwood Cottage. Wonderful walks and stunning scenery to delight any budding photographers interest. Restaurants, Cafes and Supermarkets are located approximately 12 km away in Portland.

A relaxing base with lots to explore

Blackwood Cottage felt like home transplanted in a new location with a host of cool things to do. The kids enjoyed exploring the cliffs, beaches and rock pools, the Yellow Rock Coastal Park, the Enchanted Forest walk, the Petrified Forest, the Discovery Bay Coastal Park sandunes, and the Tarragul Caves to name a few. They also thoroughly enjoyed coming 'home' and being able to watch the TV or plug in their PS4. Mum enjoyed sitting on the verandah with a good book or 'talking' with the resident koala.

A wonderful stay.

We have just returned home from a beautiful stay at Blackwood Cottage. Highly recommend to anyone. Darryn was a wonderful host, so friendly, and respected our privacy. Will be back again!

Fun for the whole family

Our stay at this property was absolutely amazing we had the best of both a country and coastal stay with so much to do from Forest hikes within walking distance from the cottage and the most stunning beaches within a short drive. The cottage had everything we could need for the whole family and our two pets and was on the most peaceful and beautiful property with our host Darryn and Annie making our stay so welcoming and comfortable and we can't thank Darryn enough for making sure we had everything we needed and for his priceless advice on places to go and see and the best roads to take, this cottage is a little gem everyone needs to experience, we are already planning our next trip over here as the whole family agrees this will now be one of our regular holiday stays.

Cosy Cottage

The Cottage is very comfortable with a wonderful atmosphere. Superbly situated for the Great South West Walk. The hosts Annie and Darren are simply the best hosts we have encountered. Darren brought over eggs and berries and they were constantly attentive. Highly recommended.

Cosy cottage

We had a great stay. Cottage was quite cosy. Very well equipped kitchen. My fur baby had a great time in the big yard but was not keen on the steps with the wire on them. Over all great place to stay.
