Having been a much loved family home for many decades, our Californian at Piper and Powlett is now a private retreat in the heart of Kyneton's wonderful food and wine precinct. The house is fully yours for your stay - there are three double bedrooms beautifully furnished and two stylish bathrooms. The main kitchen and living space are tastefully appointed, and with a small open fire allowing you to nestle down when the weather cools. We also have electric blankets, and air conditioning, and all linen is provided.
Across the street are some of the region's finest restaurants, Source Dining, La Bonta, Mr Carsisi, Midnight Starling, Pizza Verde, Duck Duck Larder & Goose, Little Swallow and the Royal George Hotel to name a few that specialise in seasonal, local farm produce to plate in a vibrant, quirky but relaxed atmosphere . We have beautiful galleries such as Stockroom, John Lloyd, Gallery 40, Cavaletti Gallery and Lauriston Press literally next door, not to mention the vibrant boutique stores such as Kabinett, Rundell & Rundell, Emporium, Red Cart Vintage, the nurseries and of course the Farmer's Market every second Saturday morning with its chickens and ducks, green produce and local musicians to entertain.
For those looking at exploring what Kyneton and our region has to offer, there are cooking, hat, shoe, jewellery and chair making classes in Piper Street available to book. Beautiful walks to the Kyneton Botanical Gardens and along the Campaspe River behind us, and bike hire available.
Kyneton sits in the heart of the Macedon Ranges, and very close to Daylesford's famous spa country. We are known for our wines and local produce in the region, spa treatments, and mountain and road bike trails and hiking.
Staying at Piper & Powlett in the heart of this precinct can be as relaxing or as active as you choose. The street has a country vintage charm, that is not often found anywhere else anymore. We live 10 minutes away in Woodend, and are on hand should you need anything, but we really leave our guests to do their own thing.
