It is set amongst rolling green hills and natural bushland offering sites of kangaroos, koalas and native birds. The area offers wineries, art studios, walking/riding/horse riding trails, great places to eat and beaches. Situated in the middle of the farm is an open plan timber Barn that provides you with a comfortable and relaxing farm stay experience. Enjoy access to homegrown vegetables and herbs that are on offer (seasonal) in the garden and relax on the open lawn under the native gum trees. Tessy’s Run has been designed to run as environmentally friendly as possible, utilising solar generation and wood fire heater to warm your home on winter nights.
Self contained with own access to the property down a quite farm lane. The Barn is the only residents on the property so you can relax and enjoy the space without interruption.
Interaction with Guests – As the Barn is the only residence. You may see a farmer from the distance checking the cattle, otherwise the place is yours to enjoy in peace.
With Meeniyan (5 mins drive down the road -a map will be supplied for the back roads) you have access to restaurants, the local pub, homeware & gifts store and local produce stores. Its also the turning point to Wilson’s Promontory, one of the states best loved national parks providing a labyrinth of walking tracks and beaches. The Dumbalk store (5 min drive) is convenient to grab your morning paper. And if you want to relax by the sea and take in some sun, Inverloch is 20 minute drive away. You can take in Koonwarra along the way; a small country town offering cafes, local produce and food market.
You will need a car to get around. There is a bus too and from Melbourne that operates out of southern cross station and stops at Leongatha or Meeniyan.
Phone reception is available though best supported by Telstra. Internet is not avialable in the Barn. Please bring your own portable devices should you require internet.
House Rules: No smoking inside the Barn. Smoking allowed outside, though in consideration to the environment we ask that you dispose of your butts in the containers provided. Please respect that the property is an operating cattle farm. Do not enter any paddocks that have livestock in them. We also have a small amount of sheep on the property – please give them their space. As such, its important to ensure that all gates are kept shut at all times. Troughs and dams are also on the property and in close distance to the Barn so supervision of your children is required. We are on septic sewerage so be careful in relation to toilet usage as per the guidelines provided. We are also on tank gas and water, this is plentiful, but respect of usage would be appreciated.
