Wonderful!!!

  • 5 of 5

Well-maintained, clean home. Quiet, pleasant neighborhood. Don and Laura were wonderful. So attentive and accomodating! Of all the vacation homes I have rented this is one of

the best and, again, I cannot say enough about Don and Laura. We look forward to a repeat stay next summer!

Nice house. But needs some T.L.C.

  • 3 of 5

House was nice but it seemed like it has been awhile since it's been dusted. Had the odor of a wet dog when we walked in. Pool needed to be cleaned. And the beds felt like we were sleeping on bricks. It was nice out on the dock but you can't spend all your time out there. Great location, short travel time to the beaches, restaurants and family activities.

Owner's Response: We are most disappointed to hear you were not completely pleased with your stay at Spring Lake House. We have owned and operated this property personally since 2010 and have never received a negative review in those 7 years. In fact, I believe we have an overall 5 star rating. We were on vacation in June and early July and hired others to manage the cleaning and pool maintenance in our absence. Perhaps the property was not seen to in the same fashion as when we do everything ourselves. We also have never had negative comments about the mattresses. Perhaps that is a personal preference issue. Cordially, Don and Laura

Relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this wonderful home-away-from-home the months of February and March with our dog. We so appreciated that we were able to bring our fur friend. The home had everything we needed for such a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were on opposite ends of the house with their own bathrooms which was great when we had friends staying for a week with us.

We loved the heated pool, and there weren't many days that we didn't make use of it. We had coffee every morning on the lovely covered lanai listening to all the birds. So relaxing looking out on the water and watching the fish jump. Disappointed that we didn't see any alligators though. But along the side of the house a bobcat did wander by one morning and a large turtle was spotted a couple times.

Loved having eating and shopping so close by. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors very friendly.

We frequented Punta Gorda many times- just a short drive- and of course Fisherman's Village to eat, shop and took a fishing boat out one morning. So many things to do...Orange Blossom Festival in Arcadia, Sea Food Festival in Placida. Wonderful Englewood Beach and Boca Grande. So much to see and do.

Don was wonderful. Only time we saw him was when he did maintenance on the pool. Otherwise he was just a phone call away. After we returned home our deposit was promptly returned.

If you are looking for a quiet stay in a beautiful home with a wonderful neighborhood then this is the place for you. We would love to come back again.

Thanks Don,

Curt and Linda

646 Spring Lake Port Charlotte

Don couldn't have been nicer. He even looked out for a birthday card that arrived after we left and mailed it to us. The house was beautiful, lovely view out back from the enclosed pool. Very well equipped, with every necessity for the kitchen and bath. It was quite, private, and over all nice neighbors. We would definitely return. Punta Gorda is a lovely town just across the bridge which has some great restaurants and great views of the harbor. Thanks for everything Nancy

A beautiful, serene getaway

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful, Port Charlotte home is located in a quiet neighborhood that seems far from everything, even though it's within minutes of shopping, dining and entertainment. Upon arrival we were quite impressed by the spacious living room, new kitchen and beautiful view of the pool and canal behind the house. The layout is perfect as the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the home, each having its own spacious bathroom. There is also the added convenience of a garage with plenty of room for our small SUV.

The house was very clean and we noticed no issues with maintenance. The pool was heated and the owner was kind enough to ensure the heater was on before our arrival! The dock is in great shape and a perfect launch for virtually any non-motorized watercraft. We had the great fortune of seeing a dolphin in the canal directly behind the house one morning!

I highly recommend this property for anyone seeking a quiet getaway, that is close enough to the "real world" to accommodate any needs I can imagine.

Boca Grande

Port Charlotte is located on Charlotte Harbor, a large marine estuary. The harbor offers access to the Gulf of Mexica via Boca Grande Pass, site of the best tarpon fishing in the world. The harbor itself abounds with opportunities for in-shore fishing, deep sea fishing, sailing, powerboating, kayaking, bird watching, porpoise sighting, manatee encounters, white sand beach walking, snorkeling, diving, shark tooth hunting, fossil hunting and more. Port Charlotte is a short drive from Disney World, Sea World and other Orlando attractions, as well as Sarasota's Ringling Museum, Selby Gardens and Tampa's Busch Gardens. Port Charlotte is a 3.5 hour drive from Miami and Miami Beach, and 5 hours from the Florida Keys.

This is simply a location central to many of Florida's finest destinations, but it is certainly a premier destination in itself.
